THE THREE KING’S FEAST
The Three King’s Feast is one of most popular and favorite holidays of Goa citizens and tourists who are lucky ones to watch this amazing festival. The famous grand holiday is celebrated every year on January 6th by local Christians as well as by the Hindus in all parts of Goa, and especially in Cansaulim, Arossim and Quelim resorts.
The festival is dedicated to Three Kings of Magi who came with their gifts to infant Jesus the Christ. According to the legend, a boulder on a nearby hill has two sets of footprints: one for infant and one for adult. Virgin Mary and the infant rested there in order to let their horse quench its thirst.
The preparations for the holiday are conducted the whole year round and finishes with “Three Kings” choosing. This event is associated with the storm of excitements and discussions among the local citizens. “Three Kings” are chosen among the local boys of the age of 8-12 years old, one boy from each village.
These boys-kings, dressed in gorgeous plumage and with crowns on their heads, are followed by a picturesque colorful procession. Each of “Kings” must climb the Remedios Hill, where the Three King’s Church stands and bring their gifts to infant Jesus the Christ. In the Church the “Three Kings” should put their gifts to the feet of the Jesus statue.
The whole event is accompanied by loud music and dances. Lots of people are coming to the Hill to watch the procession and the ritual of gifts giving. Amazing fair is conducted during the whole festival: people eat, drink, buy gifts, souvenirs, spices made by local Goa craftsmen and simply have fun from dawn till dusk.

Three Kings Church - Place You Need to Avoid in Goa
The Three Kings' Church in Casualim village is the most Popular Haunted Place in Goa.
We heard from various sources from Google sites that long time ago there were 3 Portuguese kings living in #Goa. They often used to fight to gain power in the land but they were tied by the Portuguese diplomacy between rulers policy. One of the kings, one day invited the other two kings in his place and poisoned them to death so that he can be the only king but he himself fell out with the public and committed suicide by consuming poison.

Three King Feast Celebrated In Goa
The feast of Epiphany was celebrated with pomp and grandeur at three parishes in Goa namely Cansaulim, Chandor and Reis Magos. Three teenage boys of the villages represented the three wise men who came from the Far East to pay their respect to the newborn Christ. Draped in velvet robe, with crowns on their head, the three youngsters came horseback to the church for the high mass.
The children were taken in a ceremonial procession to the main altar of the church with members of confrarias in their colourful costumes accompanying them.

Today, the 6th of January is the day of ‘Epiphany’ or the Feast of the Three Kings. The feast is celebrated all over Goa with great joy by Catholics as well as people from other religious faiths. The villages of Reis Magos/ Verem in North Goa and Chandor and Cansaulim in South Goa are where these festivities happen on a grand scale. Three young boys, from the villages of Cansaulim, Arossim and Cuelim respectively, are selected to enact the role of the Three Kings. The three youngsters travel on horseback through three different paths and converge some distance away from the chapel of Nossa Senhora dos Remedios (Our Lady of Remedies) atop the hill at Cuelim. Dressed up as kings, and carrying the gifts of the original Three Kings – gold, frankincense and myrrh – they proceed to the chapel together to partake in the feast mass at 10.30am.

The spirits are believed there of three kings. Behind the haunting nature of the church there is a story for greed of power. Long ago three Portuguese king lived there. They all desired to rule alone. Among them there was always war. Holger alvunger, one king invited rest two kings for a supper in the church. This was a 6th January. That was their Last Supper. Where they came for settling peace in the kingdom, King Holger poisoned other two kings. But thing didn't went as he planned. The supporters of the dead kings became furious and gathered there to kill the wicked man. Holger choose the same fate by taking poison and finished himself. People buried all three bodies in the church.
