ABOUT THIS FEED:
Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada, in the Canadian Rockies, is located on the Canadian Pacific Railway (CP), where their Shuswap Sub meets their Mountain Sub. The Shuswap Sub runs to the west to Kamloops, BC (towards Vancouver, BC), and the Mountain Sub runs to the east to Field, BC, through Rogers Pass.
The CP traverses the Canadian Rockies over 2 passes. Rogers Pass, which is to the immediate east of Revelstoke, and further east, Kicking Horse Pass, which is to the immediate east of Field. Rogers Pass is at 4,360 feet (1,330 meters), and Kicking Horse Pass is at 5,339 feet (1,627 meters). To the west of Revelstoke is the lower Eagle Pass, at 1,804 feet (550 meters).
Among the freight trains seen here are unit potash, unit grain, and unit coal. Loaded westbounds feature both mid-train and end-of-train DPU’s, and empty eastbounds have fewer engines, both on front and as DPU’s. Many but not all eastbounds will stop to enter the yard, which is located to the east of the museum and cameras. Also seen are manifests, intermodal, and combined intermodal/manifest..
On occasion, the gates will activate, but will soon after deactivate, with no train, which is due to the switcher in the yard proceeding far forward enough to enter the crossing's track circuit.
There are no VIA Rail passenger trains through Revelstoke, however, during part of the year the Rocky Mountaineer can be seen.
There are 2 ATCS layouts, one for each sub, but there is no server coverage. No radio feeds are available.
There’s no schedule for freight trains, but some of our more knowledgeable members will provide real-time information when it’s available. Please refrain from asking.

Howard Fain
F.D. Howard Fain was born in Jessamine County, Kentucky near its county seat, Nicholasville, in 1934 to the late Clifford B. and Beulah L. Fain. He was educated in the Jessamine County School system and attended the University of Kentucky, majoring in art. Through further training with I.C.S. in Pennsylvania, he earned a diploma in commercial art. During his years at U.K., he worked for an engineering firm as well as an architectural firm. He later held, for seventeen years, the position of Vice-President and interior designer for the Faulkner-Fain Corporation in Nicholasville. For 33 years until his death in August 2007 he was a full time artist and author. He was the founder and operator of Howard Fain gallery from May of 1968 until May of 1997, working later from his studio at his home.
His work is found in all 50 states as well as several foreign countries. Some of his better known works are the Largemouth and Smallmouth bass prints that were distributed by the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society in Alabama. His Kentucky-American print was released for America's 200th birthday and can be found in numerous governmental offices both in Kentucky and in Washington, D.C. Drawings and stories from his book Six Years before Electricity were published in 19 issues of County Life Extra magazine based in Glendale, Wisconsin. The pictures and stories in this book are from real life experiences as a farm boy growing up without electricity.
He has typically shown, with pen and ink and brush, many of the native Jessamine County past scenes. Churches, schools, historic buildings and related subjects became his favorite subjects. He published over 400 pieces in limited edition and drew more than 700 private commissions for collectors over the United States. Over a 33 year period, he averaged producing a new drawing every 11 days.
Married for 50 years, he and the former Ruth Ann Rhorer, had two sons. Howard Douglas Doug Fain, a licensed embalmer and funeral director, has been the Jessamine County Circuit Clerk since 1998. His youngest child, Cecil Allen Fain, was a fulltime firefighter in Lexington, Kentucky. While on duty for the volunteer Jessamine County Fire Department he was killed in the line of duty on January 2, 1993. At the time of Howard's death he was also survived by two daughters-in-law, Amy and Paula, three grandsons, Kaihlab and Jonathan Fain and Morgan Jasper and 4 granddaughters, Haleigh and Katie Beth Fain and Amanda and Madison Jasper.
He was a charter member of the Edgewood Baptist Church in Nicholasville where he served as a deacon, Trustee and Sunday school teacher. He was active as a scout leader for many years. He served his country in the U.S. Army at Ft. Knox, KY, Ft. Jackson, S.C. and Ft. Chaffee, AR with the 100th Division attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Howard Fain passed peacefully from this world on August 25, 2007 with his wife and son by his side leaving the world with hundreds of drawings to enjoy for years to come.

West Lake Landfill Superfund Site Record of Decision Signing
NOTE: If you need captions, please click the CC button on the player to turn them on.
EPA Acting Administrator Andrew Wheeler signs the Record of Decision Amendment for the West Lake Landfill Superfund Site in Bridgeton, Mo. It requires excavation of radiologically impacted material greater than 52.9 picocuries per gram generally down to a depth of 12 feet. The remedy also calls for an optimization during remedial design, which will identify certain areas for continued excavation beyond 12 feet down to as deep as 20 feet. After completion of the excavation, an engineered cover will be installed over the landfill, consistent with landfill closure requirements and the Uranium Mill Tailings and Radiation Control Act. The West Lake Landfill Superfund Site is an approximately 200-acre inactive solid waste disposal facility. The site was used agriculturally prior to 1939 when a limestone quarrying and crushing operation began. EPA placed the site on the National Priorities List in 1990.

William Barr testifies before congress for first time since receiving Mueller report, live stream
Attorney General William Barr is testifying before Congress Tuesday, as Washington waits for him to release special counsel Robert Mueller's report.
Barr has said he hopes to release the full report by mid-April, after releasing a four-page summary of Mueller's report that Democrats deemed unsatisfactory. Barr, however, says he won't testify about the Mueller report. He's there to testify about the Justice Department's budget. Barr's prepared opening statement discusses just that -- budget justifications.

Leroy Anderson - Sleigh Ride (trad.) - James Allen Gähres, cond., Ulm Philharmonic:
Original lyrics by Irving Berlin:
The sun is shining, the grass is green,
The orange and palm trees sway.
There's never been such a day
in Beverly Hills, L.A.
But it's December the twenty-fourth,
And I am longing to be up North
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the tree-tops glisten and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white.
As Irving Berlin recalled in the Los Angeles Examiner (December 14, 1954): I wrote 'White Christmas' for a revue I intended producing, changed my mind and put it away until it was used in a Bing Crosby picture. At the time I had no idea 'White Christmas' would be a perennial hit or that Paramount would add to its popularity with a movie of the same name. When the song first became popular, I attributed it to the War and the fact that Christmas means peace. I felt that since people were singing it I ought to write another verse. But I couldn’t do it. New words would not come. Much as I’d like to take a bow and say I anticipated its future success, I must admit I didn’t, Berlin told the Jamaica (Long Island) Press (September 24, 1954). Maybe because it was so easy, comparatively, to write I didn’t realize its potential. I wrote it in two rather brief sessions and that’s fast for a song. Some take a lot more work.
According to Erskine Johnson (Los Angeles Mirror, December 21, 1954), the melody was written in August 1938, then left on the shelf for four years (actually two years) until Berlin was signed by Paramount to write Holiday Inn. Berlin told Johnson: I took it off the shelf and polished the lyrics a little, and went to Bing’s dressing room at Paramount to get his okay on all the songs for the picture. I was nervous as a rabbit smelling stew. I sang several melodies and Bing nodded quiet approval. But when I did 'White Christmas' he came to life and said 'Irving, you won’t have to worry about that one.'
We didn’t even think 'White Christmas' was the big song of the picture, Berlin told Earl Wilson (December 12, 1953). We started exploiting 'Be Careful It’s My Heart,' which was the Valentine song. But the public liked 'White Christmas' and it became a runaway. You see, a war song doesn’t have to be about wars. This is really a peace song.
But for all their swagger and humor, Berlin’s songs betray a not-so-secret undertow of sadness, a pervasive tropism toward melancholy.
While swimming confidently toward their goal, his songs frequently pass through invisible seams of sadness on the way. Think of how wistful even 'White Christmas' is. Underneath the last, sustained word of the climactic lyric May your days be merry and bright, Berlin gives us an F major chord that turns suddenly, piercingly minor. The brightness is literally diminished, as the dream of the past is diminished by time.
Berlin came by this sentiment honestly. His father, a cantor in whose temple he first heard the way music can recapitulate loss in the flick of a note, died when he was 13. His first wife died of typhoid fever contracted on their Cuban honeymoon. Irving Berlin Jr., his son by his second wife, died on Christmas Eve at three weeks.
These losses do not explain the drive that led an immigrant from abject poverty at 5 to wealth and celebrity at 19 and has sustained him at the heart of American culture ever since. Nor do they explain how he, nearly alone among his generation of composers, became the kind of businessman who had the clout and savvy to defend his property, keeping an iron grip on his copyrights and licenses as his own publisher.
With a life that spanned more than 100 years, and a catalog that boasted over 1,000 songs, seventeen complete scores for Broadway musicals and revues, and contributed material to six more Irving Berlin epitomized Jerome Kern's famous maxim that Irving Berlin has no place in American music – he is American music.
Impeachment trial of President Trump | Jan. 21, 2020 (FULL LIVE STREAM)
Today, the Senate will vote to start President Trump's Senate impeachment trial with a resolution that sets up the rules of the trial, including how long it will last and how long everyone has to speak. Each side will get a set amount of hours to present its case for or against the president.
President Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives in December for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Impeachment does not mean that the president has been removed from office. In the next phase, the Senate must hold a trial to make that determination. A Senate impeachment trial has happened only two other times in American history and once in the modern era. At the center of the Democrats’ case is that Trump sought to withhold military assistance and an Oval Office meeting until Ukraine announced investigations into former vice president Joe Biden and his son. • Locate the parking space – is the space legal and is it approximately 1 ½ times the size of your car
• Mirror, signal, shoulder check and ensure that it is safe to stop and that there aren't any vehicles tailgating you
• Pull up beside the car (3 feet from the car—in front of the parking space you wish to back into--and stop
• Line up the rear bumpers—you will be able to see the rear corner of the vehicle through your rear right window
• Put the car into reverse so the reverse lights activate telling traffic that you are going to park
• Put on your right signal to communicate to other traffic that you are going to park
• Locate your 45° degree reference point, which should be straight out form the door post—the reference marker can be any fixed object
• Release the brake pedal and back slowly, steering rapidly all the way to the right without any throttle and backing until your are facing your reference point
• At this point the rear bumper of the stationary car should be in line with your steering wheel
• Straighten the wheels and back until the bumper of the parked car is ½ to 1/3 the way down your hood or the front of your car clears the parked car
• Steer rapidly all the way to the left and back until the car is straight in the space
• Stop
Put the transmission in “Drive” or a forward gear and pull forward
• You should be able to see the top of the rear bumper of the car in front of you
• When park your vehicle should be 6-9” inches from the curb
• Secure your vehicle by applying the parking brake and putting the transmission into park (or a forward gear if you’re driving a manual transmission)
When pulling up to parallel park off the other vehicle, take note of how far the other vehicle is from the curb. If the vehicle is far from the curb, you will have to drive farther into the space. If the vehicle is close to the space, you will have to drive less deep into the space. If it is a wide vehicle, that too will dictate that you drive farther into the space.
