Easy hike starting from the northern end of Zhongshan North Road in Tianmu. Popular with locals and foreign residents of the Tianmu neighborhood. Chance of seeing monkeys up close (we didn't see any). The Cuifeng Waterfall was nicer than expected. :)

It's always good to take the venerable DJI Phantom 2 Vision + out for a flight. It's been four months since the last one. These views are over the bedroom community of Tianmu (Shilin/Beitou) to the north of Taipei.

地熱谷 Beitou Thermal Valley Taipei Taiwan
Beitou Thermal Valley or Geothermal Valley（地熱谷) is a volcanic crater filled with steaming natural sulfuric hot spring water. During the Japanese colonial era, the valley was known as one of Taiwan’s eight great natural beauties and the magical translucent green coloured waters gave rise to one of its pet names, Jade Springs Valley. The mineral composition of the rare green sulfur spring waters can only be found in two locations in the world, here in Beitou and in Akita, Japan.
How to go there?
From taipei main station Take the Red Line 2 to Beitou (北投), then change to the Xinbeitou branch (新北投). After arriving at Xinbeitou, walk straight out of the station and along Zhongshan Road (中山路). After reaching the Hi-Life convenience store, take a left onto the lane to reach Thermal Valley.

Taipei City is one of the few cities in the World with so many beautiful waterfalls and hikes just outside of the city itself. This was one of my favorite days in Taiwan! Huaku Sky Garden, Tianmu District, Taipei, Taiwan
Huaku Sky Garden Tower is located at the base of the foothills of the Yang Ming mountain range, in the Tianmu district of northern Taipei, Taiwan. This tower is designed to maximise cross ventilation within the apartments - whereby a double height entry volume and single-height living areas alternate on each floor. The double volume balconies are planted with green walls and trees, filtering direct sunlight and creating an environment akin to an outdoor garden. The apartment lobby is shaded with a forest of trees, reducing glare and forming a tranquil ambience.
