Chiwan Tianhou Temple (赤湾天后宫), Shenzhen, China
Chiwan Tianhou Temple (赤湾天后宫) dates back to the Song Dynasty. It was said to be built as an offering to Mazu for protecting the fleet of Zheng He. It was rebuilt over the following centuries and the present structure was constructed in the early 1990s. It is the largest temple complex dedicated to Tianhou in Guangdong. (Wikipedia)

We went to an opening ceremony of a temple in Shiwan. In my 13 years in China, it was one of the best I have ever seen. It was all recorded using my iPhone 8 Plus and the Osmo Mobile 2 gimbal.
The Tianhou Temple New Folk Culture Fair
“Busy December, cozy January”. As the first fair in Spring Festival of Qingdao——The Tianhou Temple New Folk Culture Fair originated from Ming Dynasty and became popular in Qing Dynasty. It was a large scale cultural activity for old-time Qingdao people.
The Tianhou Temple New Folk Culture Fair is usually held during the Spring Festival. At that time, folk artists will perform sugar painting, lantern riddles, pyrograph, Wood New Year Picture and Chinese knot lively.
Ancient round house in Sungang Village / 笋岗村 - Shenzhen
This ancient round house can be found in downtown Luohu/罗湖 right beside the Rainbow Bridge/彩虹桥 along the rail tracks to Guangzhou. It was build up by the He family during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and is now a historic site under Guangdong Province protection. In addition to the round house you'll see the Tianhou Temple, the temple of the He family and of course experience local village life eyeball to eyeball. You see, Shenzhen has its ancient cultural sites despite its young age and fast development!

This place only seems to be open on the 1st and 15th of the lunar month (Please correct me if I am wrong)!
How to go there:
Take a bus (18, 57, 63, 242, 381, M370) to Sungang/笋岗 bus station
or take a short taxi ride from Hongling (Line 3) or Laojie (Line 1,3) to there.
You can also combine it with a visit to Sungang Wholesale Market of Stationery, Toys and Gifts/笋岗文具玩具礼品批发市场
