Originated from a traditional Chinese myth and folk tale- Love between Man and Fox, the drama integrates the elements of folk music and modern art. As the story progresses, you will find settings everywhere from the foot of the hill to the peak, be it spotlight, stage for the chorus, background houses...everything. The visual presentation is spectacular and amazing, the music is impressive, and those dancers and singers are also charming.
With an investment of 120 million Yuan and a cast of 530, the wonderful drama has attracted bout 150,000 travelers from home and abroad since its debut performance. Tickets are available from most travel agencies or hotels.

Tianmen Fox Fairy----the New Story of Woodman Liuhai is known as the world’s first real-scene musical drama with the high mountain and deep valleys as the stage background.
The show tells a romantic love story about a fox fairy and an ordinary woodman that makes a living by chopping woods. The fox fairy is quite kind and extremely beautiful. She never hurts human before. She was forced to marry the king of the fox empire, who she does not love at all. She gradually falls in love with a kind and diligent woodman that used to save her life. So she uses her magic power to shape herself into a human. She slides into the man’s house to finish all the housework and make a delicate dinner for him every day. The woodman finds out the truth finally and he also falls in love with her. They begin to live a happy life together. But when the other villagers know the woman is actually a fox, they can not accept it. They reject to the love story of the man and the fox because a lot of villagers and children were hunted by fox fairies, as well as the trouble made by the fox empire. Moreover, the King of the fox empire can’t accept the betraying of the fox fairy. What about the ending? You should really go to find out yourself.

Day 7 at ZhangJiajie
The 1st place we went for the day was Yu Huang Dong.
2nd we went to see some terrace plantation, but in the middle stop at some market and went to a farm house and cooked dinner/lunch ourselves then head to hike up a hill to see the terrace plantation.
3rd we went to watch a musical.

Here's the most famous show which you HAVE TO watch when you visit Zhang Jia Jie, China. The performance took place at the foot of Tian Men mountain. This is an outdoor performance and they will perform whether or not it is raining. There are more than ( I believe) 500 performers and they are the actual residents of Hunan province.
This show tells a story based on a traditional Chinese fairy tale which is the Fox Fairy tale where a Fox Fairy (lady Fox) fell in love with a man (human).
The first part is introducing you the characters. The main characters are the Fox Fairy, a woodman, and the King Fox. This part is also showing you how they first met and all.
Ticket was not cheap, but it was worth it. So for those of you who did not watch this performance or who has never visited China or for anyone, really, I am sharing this. The show is even more excellent if you watch it there in person, but still, I hope you enjoy this. :)

It was first performed on the foot of Tianmen Mountain, Zhangjiajie City in September 17, 2009. With 5 years’ development and experience, the show becomes more and more excellent and delicate.
