About Tibet:
Tibet (Listeni/tɨˈbɛt/; Wylie: Bod, pronounced [pʰø̀ʔ]; Chinese: 西藏; pinyin: Xīzàng) is a region on the Tibetan Plateau in Asia northeast of the Himalayas. It is the traditional homeland of the Tibetan people as well as some other ethnic groups such as Monpa, Qiang and Lhoba peoples and is now also inhabited by considerable numbers of Han Chinese and Hui people. Tibet is the highest region on Earth, with an average elevation of 4,900 metres (16,000 ft).
The Tibetan Empire emerged in the 7th century, but it soon divided into a variety of territories. The bulk of western and central Tibet (Ü-Tsang) was often at least nominally unified under a series of Tibetan governments in Lhasa, Shigatse, or nearby locations; these governments were at various times under Mongol and Chinese overlordship. The eastern regions of Kham and Amdo often maintained a more decentralized indigenous political structure, being divided among a number of small principalities and tribal groups, while also often falling more directly under Chinese rule; most of this area was eventually incorporated into the Chinese provinces of Sichuan and Qinghai. The current borders of Tibet were generally established in the 18th century.[1]
Following the Xinhai Revolution against the Qing dynasty in 1912, Qing soldiers were disarmed and escorted out of Tibet Area (Ü-Tsang). The region subsequently declared its independence in 1913 without recognition by the subsequent Chinese Republican government.[2] Later, Lhasa took control of the western part of Xikang, China. The region maintained its autonomy until 1951 when, following the Battle of Chamdo, Tibet became incorporated into the People's Republic of China, and the previous Tibetan government was abolished in 1959 after a failed uprising.[3] Today, China governs western and central Tibet as the Tibet Autonomous Region while the eastern areas are now mostly ethnic autonomous prefectures within Sichuan, Qinghai and other neighbouring provinces. There are tensions regarding Tibet's political status[4] and dissident groups that are active in exile.[5] It is also said that Tibetan activists in Tibet have been arrested or tortured.[6]
The economy of Tibet is dominated by subsistence agriculture, though tourism has become a growing industry in recent decades. The dominant religion in Tibet is Tibetan Buddhism; in addition there is Bön, which is similar to Tibetan Buddhism,[7] and there are also Tibetan Muslims and Christian minorities. Tibetan Buddhism is a primary influence on the art, music, and festivals of the region. Tibetan architecture reflects Chinese and Indian influences. Staple foods in Tibet are roasted barley, yak meat, and butter tea.

Chinese Food - Amazing SICHUAN BBQ in Mountain Village, China!
????Ultimate Chinese Street Food - Chengdu (Part 1):
????T-shirts and caps:
Big thanks to Jordan and Anita from Chengdu Food Tours:
Sichuan BBQ - From Chengdu we drove about 2 hours to the countryside, into the mountains of Sichuan. We enjoyed two full Chinese Sichuan food meals, including a unique and extraordinary Sichuan bbq experience.
Meal #1: Unfortunately it was a very rainy day, and the rain didn’t let up the entire day. But we still made the most of everything. When we arrived, we watched the family finished up the first lunch preparation including mostly ingredients they had grown or foraged for from their land and the mountain. We had some home-cooked mountain style Sichuan dishes like mushrooms and pork, and lots of bamboo shoots. What struck me about this type of Sichuan food is that it was so much different from Sichuan food we had in Chengdu city. It wasn’t all about the thick red chili oil, but the food was still laced with chilies and Sichuan peppercorn, but without the heavy oil. Lunch was spectacular.
Walk into the forest: Again, it was raining all day and wouldn’t let up. But we still decided to hike a little ways up into the mountain to see where they grow their vegetables, and where they forage for some of their ingredients like bamboo shoots. Something I learned is that kiwi fruits are actually native to the forests of Sichuan.
Meal #2: For meal #2, and it seems everyone who comes here has 2 meals back to back, it was all about Sichuan bbq. There was a duck, a rooster, and a rabbit, all of which were marinated in fermented bean paste, chilies, garlic, and a host of other spices and ingredients, and fully rubbed in the marinade. A while later, they skewered the meat onto huge rotisserie, and built a bonfire on the bottom. For over an hour they slow roasted the meat, until it was crispy and golden. Again, we sat down for another big Sichuan countryside meal.
It was a great Chinese food day trip, and nice to see a little bit of the countryside of Sichuan.

China's Economy and Hope For Tibet - Bhuchung Sonam
Bhuchung Sonam is a Tibetan writer and poet. His work includes the book Yak Horns: Notes on Contemporary Tibetan Writing, Music, Film & Politics. Here TEXT Program Director Sidney Burris asks him about his hopes for Tibet's future. The TEXT Program, or Tibetans in Exile Today, is an oral-history program designed to record the stories of Tibetans currently living in refugee settlements in India. The program focuses on the Tibetans who left their country in 1959, but still have vivid memories of traditional Tibetan culture. For more information please visit:
A Special Note from His Holiness the Dalai Lama
His Holiness the Dalai Lama was pleased to have been able to visit the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and to know about The TEXT Program. He feels involving the students in this program that records the life stories of elderly Tibetans in exile will enable them to understand the challenges faced by Tibetans and how these are met. Through the process, the students will have a better understanding of the impact of the Tibetan Buddhist culture of nonviolence and compassion on the lives of the Tibetan people through the ages. He wishes your project all success.

Tibetan Culture Today - How Tibetan culture is being influenced by modern day life in China
This amateur film provides a glimpse into the lives of people from the Tibetan ethnic group who live dotted across the vast provinces of Western China (with a focus on Qinghai and Sichuan). Modern developments in these regions are having an impact on traditional living Tibetans. From the way they live and dress to the way they talk and think, this culture is one that's in transition. The benefits and drawbacks of these changes are told here by the Tibetan people themselves.
Do those experiencing the change actually think this potential cultural homogenisation is positive or not?

????Travel Film [Mystery Scenery of the land] ▪️30days in TIBET,China
The life inTibet China is quite different away from the fast pace of life in modern society. Religion keeps the place got an air of mystery. The people live here are so devout, they can dedicate whole year income to the Potala Palace without any hesitate. In this film, I didn't recording kowtow, as a matter of fact, praying people reckon this as a disturb. See you this year, I will be back, this should be called as home
