Taking a train to Tibet is even the top choice for many foreign tourists to Tibet for a Tibet train tour is really so impressive both because of the breathtaking scenery along the Qinghai-Tibet Railway and the railway itself. Of course, enjoying the high-quality services on the best train in China is also a wonderful experience of traveling to Tibet by train.
Besides, it is also relatively convenient to take a train to Lhasa from other inland cities of China. At present, there are direct trains to Tibet from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing and Xining. Many trains to Tibet beginning from other cities will pass by Xining, Xian, Lanzhou or Golmud. Therefore, not surprisingly, Qinghai-Tibet Railway is so attractive for both domestic and foreign tourists to Tibet.
The train to Lhasa from Beijing is equipped with advanced facilities that are tailor-made according to the special elevation, temperature and other specific situations along the world's highest railway, Qinghai-Tibet Railway, such as air-conditioning, supercharging system, oxygen supply, altitude display, etc. Moreover, the totally-closed train is installed with sightseeing windows covered by anti-ultraviolet film so as to protect passengers from ultraviolet radiation. 4,500 Meter VILLAGE FOOD - Heavenly Yamdrok Lake, Tibet!
????Street Food in Tibet - Ultimate Tibetan Food Tour:
????T-shirts and caps:
Thank you to for hosting me on my trip to Tibet!
High Altitude Tibetan Food - Today we drove from Lhasa to Yamdrok Lake, where we had the honor to eat at a local family home. At 4,500 meters in elevation, there’s not a lot of plants that grow, and so our meal consisted of Tibetan barley, yak meat, a few green onions, and a radish soup. It was a hearty and warming meal, full of love, and a pleasure to learn more about Tibetan culture. #Tibet #YamdrokLake #streetfood #villagefood
Yamdrok Lake, Tibet - First we drove to Yamdrok Lake, and Kambala Pass (4,990 m (16,371 ft) for the viewpoint. The view of Yamdrok Lake for the first time was breathtaking. It’s a sacred lake in Tibet, and the colors of the lake look different depending on season, time of day, or even where you see the lake from. The actual bottom of the lake, on the shore is more like 4,500 Meters in Elevation.
High Elevation Tibetan Food - Tsampa (roasted barley) is the staple and main food of the Tibetan diet. It’s nutritious, and grows at a very high elevation. For lunch we had butter tea, barley dumplings with yak meat, radish soup with yak meat, and a type of momo bread which was formed into cone shapes, and fried and steamed in an iron griddle pan. The entire meal was simple, but delicious and very hearty and warming - mainly carbs, and yak. The entire village and setting next to Yamdrok Lake made it even more spectacular.
Karola Glacier View - Finally to end this day in Tibet, we continued to Karola Glacier, passing a section that was almost 5,200 meters in elevation. Highest elevation I’ve been to, and the entire drive was unbelievably beautiful.
An amazing day, great people, delicious food, and heavenly scenery of Yamdrok Lake.
Thank you to Travel China & Tibet ( they sponsored my trip to Tibet, and they did an amazing job to cater to the exact things I wanted to do. Highly recommended when you visit Tibet.

Lhasa, Street Life, Tibet - China Travel Channel
The street life in Lhasa, the administrative capital of Tibet, China, mostly takes place around the Jokhang Temple, which is the religious center of Tibet. The proportion of Han Chinese in Lhasa is around 20%, which is mainly concentrated on the Inner City District Chengguan . Here, the proportion of Han Chinese is about 35%. Members of the army are not taken into account.
In Tibet, the everyday life and religion can barely be separated from each other, so that it does not astonish it that dealers, pilgrims and playing children casually mingle with the rest of the population.

Tibet Qinghai Express Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Tibet Qinghai Express in Tibet.
The Third Millennium marked the inauguration of a unique train, the Tibet Qinghai Express that travels from China to Tibet. A railroad through the Himalayas on the ‘roof of the world’ and the highest railway line on earth that leads through breathtaking landscapes from Peking to Lhasa. The journey lasts about forty eight hours and includes two nights on the train. The journey begins on a road that for much of the time runs close to the railway line and travels across the high mountain passes of the Kulun Mountains and at a height of nearly five thousand metres above sea level is a remote high plateau that lies within an earthquake zone and often encounters severe snow storms. The train winds its way higher and higher from one high plateau to the next up to snow covered mountains and into the “home of the gods“. Along with the Great Wall Of China and the Three Gorges Dam, the Tibet Railroad is one of China’s greatest structures. The trains travel at the highest speeds that are possible on permafrost, a hundred kilometres an hour and sometimes even up to a hundred and twenty! The Tibet Qinghai Express has already turned many dreams into reality and in future years even more passengers will experience this magnificent and unique experience.

Farm Life, Lhasa, Tibet - China Travel Channel
Near Lhasa in Tibet, China, we had the chance to see farmers working in the fields with their yaks.
Later we visited one of the farmhouses. The friendly people show us their living space, the kitchen, the store room and her stable. Of course, we had to try the butter tea, which is unusual for our European tastes
The farmer told us proudly that he has 4 yaks and some cows. They live a simple life but we did not have the feeling that somebody suffers hunger. Pictures of the family were proudly presented next to the house altar.

The Jokhang temple (Lhasa - Tibet - China)
(EN) The Jokhang, (Tibetan: ཇོ་ཁང་; Wylie: Jo-khang; Chinese: 大昭寺; pinyin: Dàzhāosì), also called the Jokang, Jokhang Temple, Jokhang Monastery or Tsuklakang (gTsug lag khang), is located on Barkhor Square in Lhasa. For most Tibetans it is the most sacred and important temple in Tibet. It is in some regards pan-sectarian, but is presently controlled by the Gelug school. The temple's architectural style is a mixture of Indian vihara design, Chinese Tang Dynasty design, and Nepalese design.
It was founded during the reign of king Songsten Gampo. According to tradition, the temple was built for the two brides of the king, Princess Wencheng of the Chinese Tang Dynasty and Princess Bhrikuti of Nepal. Both wives are said to have brought important Buddhist statues and images from China and Nepal to Tibet as part of their dowries, and they were housed here. Many Nepalese artists worked to construct this temple.
During the Bon period of Tibet the temple was (and sometimes still is), called the 'Tsuklakang' (Tsulag Khang) — 'House of Religious Science' or 'House of Wisdom.' The term tsuklak refers to the 'sciences' such as geomancy, astrology, and divination which formed part of the pre-Buddhist shamanistic religion now referred to as Bon. It is more commonly known today as the Jokhang, which means the 'House of the Buddha'.
Along with the Potala Palace, it is probably the most popular tourist attraction in Lhasa. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Historic Ensemble of the Potala Palace, and a spiritual centre of Lhasa. (wikipedia)
