Tiffany Falls Conservation Area is considered a significant natural area. Its bedrock exposures are considered an Earth Science Area of Regional Significance. The central feature of the conservation area is the two waterfalls within it, Tiffany Falls and Washboard Falls, formed by Tiffany Creek.
The area provides a link between the green space corridor along the Niagara Escarpment through the Hamilton urban area, and the extensive natural areas of the Dundas Valley.
The forest area is made up of Eastern Hemlock, Sugar Maple, Red Oak, American Beech, White Ash, Basswood, Black Walnut, Hawthorn, Butternut and White Elm. There are also old field areas and tall shrub thickets.
The highly significant animal, insect, reptile and plant species found within the conservation area include the Purple Clematis, the Hickory Hairstreak butterfly, the Northern Ringneck Snake and the Louisiana Waterthrush.

The short walk to this expansive cascade waterfall is a beautiful one through a forested trail and over bridges that crisscross a stream. It’s an easy hike from the parking lot on Wilson Street – making it a great spot for kids and families. There’s also a connection to the Bruce Trail if you’re up for a longer hike.
WATERFALL DESCRIPTION
This 21 metre tall cascade waterfall is stunning in the spring when it’s roaring from the spring melt and also in the winter when it’s frozen in place (ice-climbing is allowed at this location).
The waterfall tumbles from a broad valley above the escarpment into a v-shaped ravine below, creating a memorable experience for visitors below, surrounded by cliffs on either side.
The Hamilton Conservation Authority considers the surrounding forest and bedrock to be a significant natural area, with various species and a canopy that consists of Eastern hemlock, sugar maple, red oak, American beech and many more species.

Parking off of Wilson Street East is $5/day
It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to walk to the falls.

Washboard Falls (Upper Tiffany Falls) - Ancaster, Ontario
A very little scene clip of Washboard Falls in Ancaster, Ontario. Washboard Falls is located above Tiffany Falls and is only accessible via a steep hill just to the left of Tiffany itself. I don't recommend this climb at all unless you're wearing proper equipment. I was not - a bit touch and go at times. A great sight to behold.

TIFFANY FALLS WATERFALL & HIKING HAMILTON, ONTARIO
Today I reached Tiffany Falls in Hamilton, Ontario.
Loved the pathway created, Tiffany Falls Ontario, shows that Hiking In Hamilton, is the best. Hiking to Tifffany Falls was very relaxing and the Hamilton Hiking was an adventure.
Tiffany Falls is one of the most elegant looking waterfalls in the Hamilton region. It used to be difficult to access, especially during rough weather, but a new pathway was added in 2007. The new path includes two bridges that cross over the river and a viewing platform near the falls. It is a great waterfall in the Spring, but tends to dry up to just a trickle in the heat of the Summer months. Now is the best time to enjoy it!
History
Tiffany Falls was named after Dr. Oliver Tiffany, the district’s first doctor. Born in Massachusetts, he studied medicine at the Philadelphia Medical College, and came to Ancaster Township in 1796. Because his practice covered such a vast territory, Dr. Tiffany would stable horses at farms all over the district, so that he could always locate a fresh mount if necessary during his rounds. He died on May 7, 1835, after serving the people faithfully for forty years. It is said that six hundred people attended his funeral, and the traffic jam created by the influx of buggies and wagons was talked about by residents for a long time afterward.
How to get there
To reach Tiffany Falls by car, take the 403 to Hamilton and exit at Main Street West. Turn left when you exit at the light then drive a few miles till you see the power lines. There is a mall on the left side called Main West Mall, turn left at the light there. Then continue left on Main West, which becomes Wilson Street as you continue toward Ancaster. About half way up the escarpment, you will see Harpers Nursery on the right side, now you are getting closer, there is no signage, but when you see the road widen for a passing lane, you will come across a small parking area labelled “Tiffany Falls Conservation Area.” Park your car and take the footpath that runs along the creek’s south bank.
To reach Tiffany Falls via a walking trail, take the Dundas section of the Bruce Trail.

Directions: Take Highway 403 coming into Hamilton exit at Main Street West and drive past McMaster University. Take a left by the West Village Suites to continue on Main Street West, and it eventually becomes Wilson Street. This takes you up the escarpment.
