Tikus temple or 'Rat temple', is located about 500 meters in south east of Bajang Ratu temple. Before having its today's condition, this temple had some restoration during 1985 to 1989. In this site, there is Petirtaan site, which is a bathing ritual place in Majapahit period.
This temple was a ritual bathing pool or Petirtaan in Javanese term. The name Candi Tikus was given to the discovery in 1914 because the site appeared during the excavation to be a rat-breeding enclosure.
The principal structure, which projects from the southern wall of the basin, was apparently modeled on the legendary Mount Mahameru. The construction is n longer complete, it consisted of terraced foundations, upon which would have rested a concentric arrangement of 'turrets' surrounding the highest peak of the building.

Candi Tikus is one of beautiful temples in Trowulan Mojokerto East Java Indonesia. Candi Tikus (The temple of Rats) was built in 13 - 14 B.C. It was found underground in 1914. When people found it, there were a lot of rats in the temple. So people named it Candi Tikus (The Temple of Rats).
Candi Tikus adalah sebuah peninggalan purbakala yang terletak di dukuh Dinuk, Desa Temon, Kecamatan Trowulan, Kabupaten Mojokerto, Jawa Timur.
Candi ini terletak di kompleks Trowulan, sekitar 13 km di sebelah tenggara kota Mojokerto. Dari jalan raya Mojokerto-Jombang, di perempatan Trowulan, membelok ke timur, melewati Kolam Segaran dan Candi Bajangratu yang terletak di sebelah kiri jalan. Candi Tikus juga terletak di sisi kiri jalan, sekitar 600 m dari Candi Bajangratu.
Candi Tikus yang semula telah terkubur dalam tanah ditemukan kembali pada tahun 1914. Penggalian situs dilakukan berdasarkan laporan bupati Mojokerto, R.A.A. Kromojoyo Adinegoro, tentang ditemukannya miniatur candi di sebuah pekuburan rakyat. Pemugaran secara menyeluruh dilakukan pada tahun 1984 sampai dengan 1985. Nama ‘Tikus’ hanya merupakan sebutan yang digunakan masyarakat setempat. Konon, pada saat ditemukan, tempat candi tersebut berada merupakan sarang tikus.
Bangunan Candi Tikus menyerupai sebuah petirtaan atau pemandian, yaitu sebuah kolam dengan beberapa bangunan di dalamnya. Hampir seluruh bangunan berbentuk persegi empat dengan ukuran 29,5 m x 28,25 m ini terbuat dari batu bata merah. Yang menarik, adalah letaknya yang lebih rendah sekitar 3,5 m dari permukaan tanah sekitarnya. Di permukaan paling atas terdapat selasar selebar sekitar 75 cm yang mengelilingi bangunan. Di sisi dalam, turun sekitar 1 m, terdapat selasar yang lebih lebar mengelilingi tepi kolam.

Kedaton temple can be found in the village of Sentonorejo, Trowulan. The site displays the extensive brick foundations, which estimated as a palace in Majapahit era.
A legend connects the poison well / Sumur Upas, which lies within the Kedaton complex, with the Majapahit royal family. According to the story, Brawijaya V, who was the last King of Majapahit had his face invisible during in Sumur Upas. Other belief also said that Brawijaya retired to a supernatural Kingdom which situates at the peak of Mount Lawu.

Bajang Ratu temple is located in Kraton Village, near to Tikus temple, Mojokerto. Bajang Ratu is a gate made of red brick which is estimated build around 14th century.
The shape of the building is tall and slender, rising to a height of just over 16 meters. The restoration was completed in 1991.
The gateway was originally connected to a brick wall, running off to the left and right, by way of a form resembling wings. This ornamental device is known as paduraksa, it can be seen on other ancient Javanese gateways, in Plumbangan, near Wlingi, Jedong Sub-district, on the slope of Mount Penanggungan.
Bajang Ratu in Javanese means as a tiny King or disable King. Local people believe that this gate exist to commemorated Jayanegara King, which was the second King of Majapahit. According to the legend, when the King was remaining a child, he fell and led to defects on his body. This word may also refer to Little King, for Jayanegara had his throne in a very young age.

At 1914, the regent of Mojokerto, Kanjeng Adipati Aryo Kromojoyo was found Tikus Temple unwittingly. At first the local people sight over the epidemic of taht made a nest in a pile of land. When the nest was digged up they found a temple in it, that this temple called Tikus Temple (Tikus= rat). Tikus temple is bathing place located under ground surface and face to the north. This monument was completed with a temple miniatur surrounding eight more temple miniaturs which represented Mount Mahameru, the sacred mountain and the source all of life. The water flown through the base symbolizes it. According to the shape, it is quite possible that connected with sacred ceremonies implementation.

Historical Site of Gentong Temple - Mojokerto - East Java
Gentong Temple is located in Trowulan village, Tromulan district, Mojokerto regency. This site is consisting of two temple buildings that made of red brick. Both of those temples are built in a row to north south direction, about 25 meters to west direction. The temple that situated in south side called Gentong Temple I, and which situated in north direction called Gentong Temple II. The borders of Gentong Temple has not known yet, but based on the ancient tools that had found, it can said that this temple was a wide temple complex.
Verbeek in TBG XXXIII 1889 wrote the first information about Gentong Temple. In this book Verbeek said that in the year, Gentong Temples form could be recognition. But Verbeek didnt explain it in detail about this temples form.
Knebel in ROC 1907 said that Gentong temple was just small heap of soil. Krom in his book Inleiding tot de Hindoe Javaaneschhe Kunst in 1923 said that Gentong Temple is situated not far from Brahu Temple. This interesting information is gotten from Ir. Henri Maclaine Ponts note. In his research of reconstruction of Mojopahit Kingdoms City, Maclaine Pont said the three temples that in line to west east, that is Gentong Temple, Tengah Temple and Gedong Temple. It has not known yet about the third temples if those are the temples that situated in Gentong temple site or in the other temple site, compared with the temple lines that different from the other that mentioned in Maclaine Pont note and the present condition.
Gentong Temple I and Gentong Temple II when it had found, the condition was bad, just ruins left and the original form is shown by its legs. Gentong Temple I map that can be seen completely showed its form is rectangular. Seen from its map, Gentong Temple I is a building that has a central room. While Gentong Temple II show map of central building, that surrounded by the other small buildings. Seen from its size, Gentong Temple I is bigger than Gentong Temple II. Based on research that has been done, it is said that Gentong Temple has Budha religion background. This is proved from all things that has found around those temples.
