Australian Hologram Technology wins 2nd place in China's Tech Olympics!
Australian company Euclideon Holographics just won second place as the best international technology company, according to the Chinese Shenzhen government.
To be honest, I’m a bit surprised by this as our hologram technology was up against the top 200 new tech companies from around the world. We were against autonomous vehicles, AI, medical technology, 3D printers, robotics, etc.
It is a very big and important contest in China, the prize ceremony was opened by Prince Andrew (the son of the Queen of England).
Millions are spent on the grandeur of this event. The chosen companies are from Japan, Germany, America, Israel etc. To China this is like the Olympics of Technology.

Our first Canton fair! We’ve been selling on amazon for 2 years Sourcing from Alibaba / China .. so this is kinda just what you do.. go to the canton fair! For the experience first, to see if it’s work coming back .. and to see if we stumble on any new product ideas.
Tips:
- many people say wear comfortable shoes, but one of the days I honestly walked around in flip flops lol .. you’ll be fine ..
But a heavy backpack isn’t a good idea .. if u have to carry lots of stuff, samples etc., a roller would be good, which I can buy there.
- do some deeper research into what exactly type of product will be there ... because some of the niche categories that we expected to be there, weren’t.
- some people say that Alibaba.com is even cheaper and better than contacting suppliers at canton fair .. so I guess it’d be worth it to check alibaba before making any orders
- Do you need a Chinese sourcing agent? We had ours with us 1/3 days I went .. it’s not a must. Nearly all vendors speak English ... actually all.

Old Guangzhou! If you have chance to do a 1-2 day stopover in Guangzhou - do it. And for a glimpse of 'old china' or what i like to call 'real' china, this is not that far by subway from downtown GZ!
This was on my last day, and oh was it worth it. Such a glorious day:)☀️???? I was so excited that I got to see some “Real China”. Take the metro to the western part of the city. To Huangsha station. Then get a bike if you can and ride to the Temple of 500 Buddhas, check that out then just wander around that whole area, up towards Chen Clan Ancestral Hall station. Good pics!
