Four Days in Reykjavík, Iceland - A Travel Guide
This is a bit of a first for this channel, it's a travel vlog that is in NO WAY theme park related! Last week Mrs Hakes and I went off to spend four days in Reykjavík, Iceland. It's a wonderful city, and we had an incredible time here. Below is a list of places we went / tour companies we used.
To save messing around with a gimbal and camera for the whole time it was entirely shot on my Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
Everything went extremely smoothly, from the flights to the transfers and the tours - it was perfect! I'll write up a full post about it all in due course, but for now - here's the vlog.
As ever, the video music is by Nick Hutson -

Top Things to do in Iceland (Reykjavik Tours)
Top Things to do in Iceland (Reykjavik Tours)
I traveled to Iceland! Myself and the fellas from highonlife were asked to come create a promotional video for a travel conference called Trablin International Summit in Reykjavik. We spent 7 days doing an insane amount of Iceland travel tours. So why not create an epic Iceland travel vlog of the top things to do in Iceland.
To kick it off from our red eye flight (ugh) we got into the Reykjavik Iceland tours right away. To kick things off we headed to the golden circle & Iceland glacier tour thanks to reykjavik tours. After that it was time for some ice cave tours with a mix of lava.. pretty epic. After getting lost in some caves (we didn't find any trolls unfortunately) we headed to the Northern Lights Iceland and Mystery Tour which was absolutely breathtaking.
Next it was time for some Iceland Waterfall Tours where we were able to adventure in some caves behind the water. It was REALLY slippery as you can see in the video (I recommend wearing some super-gripped shoes). The Iceland whales watching was next and I might have jinxed this because every time I go whale watching its completely uneventful. Unfortunately again it was the same and we missed out on the whales watching.
We also visited the amazing but ominous Iceland plane crash, Sólheimasandur. It started pouring rain and was freezing! Luckily we were sheltered from the rain inside of the plane. To finish that night off we decided to get completely lost in the pitch black of night looking for a hot spring.
Finally we hit up the Blue Lagoon spring thanks to Blue Lagoon Iceland and recharged in some amazing hot springs.
On top of all this we decided to show a little behind the scenes of how we create event videos!
Hopefully now you never have to wonder what to do in Iceland when you travel yourself. Enjoy!

Explore Iceland's Blue Lagoon and Reykjavik || City Tour of Reykjavik
Iceland is a must-see country that has been becoming more and more popular through the years. We visited in 2013 and had an amazing time, but my video editing skills back then were awful. Our time at the Blue Lagoon and in the capital city of Reykjavik (the northernmost capital city in the world!) was too good to be stuck in a bad video, so I've redone it for you!
Join Marti from Down the Wrabbit Hole Travel as she and her husband luxuriate in the vibrant waters of the Blue Lagoon, then stroll the streets of Reykjavik finding all of the best sites: Hallgrimskirkja, the Harpa Concert and Opera Hall, the Norse Boat monument and more!

Is Iceland's Blue Lagoon A Lavish Luxury? | Destination Debunkers
INSIDER's A.C. Fowler heads to Iceland's Blue Lagoon, a natural hot spring. Is it a lavish luxury or an overpriced public pool?
The Blue Lagoon is in Grindavík, a 45-minute drive from Iceland's capital Reykjavík, a quickly growing tourist hot spot. The area is a perfect blend of city and country living.
A.C. tests how crowded it is, if it's worth the $58 admission, and if the lagoon's water and mud really have healing properties.
The Blue Lagoon is one of the most visited destinations in Iceland. 80% of tourists who come to the country trek to the famous thermal waters.
While the physical lagoon is man-made, the natural geothermal waters are sourced from a nearby geothermal field.
The peak season is the summer, so the best time to visit the Blue Lagoon is in the winter.
CEO Grímur Sæmundsen said, To be in the Blue Lagoon and having the Northern Lights, there's nothing that beats it.
The Blue Lagoon also acts as a facility for skin care research, so it makes sense that its biggest selling point is its natural silica mud masks.
Make sure you head to the lagoon early in the day to beat the crowds. Keep it mind that it can be pricey, so make sure you're picking a package that fits your needs. And don't be afraid to lather on the complimentary silica masks.

Tour Iceland - Visiting the Church of Hallgrimur in Reykjavík
Take a tour of Church of Hallgrimur in Iceland -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions series by GeoBeats.
Hi, I am Naomi and I am very excited to show you the world's greatest attractions.
The towering Church of Hallgrimur is a distinctive building that's visible from all over Reykjavík.
The tall white tower of the church resembles an immense ice crystal.
At 75 meters tall, it is one of Iceland's tallest buildings, and dominates the skyline.
The view from the tower observatory takes in the city and surrounding mountains.
The 25 ton pipe organ is one of the most impressive features of the church's interior.
This gleaming white Lutheran church is a truly unique place for tourists and worshipers.
Thank you for watching our travel video series. See you next time.
