Tinaroo Dam QLD Aus - Litchi Waypoint Flight - Mavic Pro drone video
This is a Litchi Waypoint Mission flight around Tinaroo Dam. I reconnoitered the location beforehand to ensure any obstacles and height requirements were identified. Then I developed the mission, reviewed several times and finally flown. Part of the assessment was to have a spotter located at the lookout. This is the result.
Tinaroo dam is located across the Barron River on the Atherton Tableland, Far North Queensland Australia. It is an ungated concrete gravity dam with a central spillway and impounds the reservoir known as Lake Tinaroo.
Construction of the dam commenced in 1953 with completion in 1958. The height of the dam is 42 metres with a length of 533 metres. The thickness at the base is 35.4 metres.

Views of Lake Tinaroo - Far North Queensland, Australia
Lake Tinaroo is located on the Atherton Tableland within the Tinaroo Range and Danbulla State Forest, Far North Queensland, Australia. The lake has over 200 km (120 miles) of shoreline and offers many bays with smooth water for recreational use, such as sailing, water skiing, houseboating, fishing and swimming. Surrounded by national park, rainforest, pine tree plantations and the good old Australia bush, it also offers hiking, bush walking and bird watching.
The dam, constructed between 1953 and 1958 is located at the township of Tinaroo on the northern end of the lake. The town of Yungaburra and the Tinaburra peninsula is located at the southern end of the lake.
