Tingko Beach is a popular getaway located in Daan Lungsod, Alcoy in Cebu, Philippines. It is situated in a small but deep lagoon across a coral island, called Mabad-on Reef, which is completely submerged during high tide and exposed during low tide. It is separated only by a very narrow channel from the mainland. Tingko Beach is characterised as an extensive stretch of arcing shoreline, more than a mile long with very white sand and crystal clear water fringed with coconut palm grooves and limestone cliffs. A few feet from the shore the sea floor gradually plunges down to a depth of several feet below the surface. The beach can be crowded during weekends where locals and city folks, and occasionally foreigners, flock to enjoy the beautiful sand, sea and sun. Because of its unique location, being an arcing shoreline on a lagoon, the sand at the southernmost end of the beach shifts northward during the northeast winter monsoon season, some time between late September and early December, thereby emptying the sand completely and exposing the rocky bed of the shore. The sand returns quickly starting in late December. The beach is hidden from sight of the road as it is situated below a low limestone cliff. On a promontory a few meters beyond the northern reach of Tingko Beach stands the centuries-old Spanish-built Bantayan sa Hari .

Sister Travel Goal in Tingko Beach Alcoy Cebu Trip 2018

Because its her 31th birthday we decided to travel part in Cebu. Start at 5am by bus to Tampi Port and arrived in Bato port at 7am and arrived in Dalaguete at 9am and we start our adventure in Osmeña Peak such a overwhelmed view down to Flower Garden had lunch and went to Cambais Falls back to Obong Spring and look for a.place to stay in Alcoy beach front. We rented tent for 600 pesos no pillow or sheet still can help for a night until 8am. Rented a boat 100 each to white sand for 1 hour and it is all good for a day. I Love Cebu will surely be back here.❤

Tingko white Beach Alcoy Cebu

Tingko Beach, Alcoy, Cebu - Catching Sunrise & Meeting New Friends

Ever had one of those unexpected and unplanned adventures? Well, I got that sort of adventure last Sunday. I was invited by a friend for a quick getaway at Tingko Beach in Alcoy, Cebu and I couldn't resist it. Well, I miss snorkeling and hitting the beach! We took the 3AM bus travel to catch the sunrise and DAMN it was so beautiful! We also visited a coral reef and the not so big sand bar (which is not noticesable if high tide (obviously). Tingko is a public beach so expect a lot of people. There are also lots of vendors selling ice cream, bibingka (native Cebuano delicacy) and more! P.S. The comfort room won't give you any comfort. Trust me.

Budget breakdown:

140 pesos - one way bus fare from Cebu City South Bus terminal to Daanlungsod, Alcoy (Tingko Beach)
250 pesos - table plus chairs
20 pesos - entrance fee
10 pesos - one pail of water for rinsing
250 pesos - island hopping for 3 people (1 hr only); if you're a group of 10, you pay 50 pesos each (still good for 1hr), you need to haggle with the boat owner (he was there at Tingko Beach looking for his clients. Or you can ask vendors or the Tingko management for )

Tingko Beach! Enjoy the White Sand Beaches of Alcoy in Southern Cebu

Just next to my hometown Dalaguete are some of the best white sand beaches, Tingko Beach, of the Municipality of Alcoy in Southern Cebu. It is located along a lagoon across Mabad-on Reef, a coral island which is visible during low tide.

Tingko beach is about 3 hours bus trip from the Cebu City South Bus Terminal. A perfect weekend getaway for family, picnic, holidays etc.

We tried Tingko Beach 1, there’s a minimal parking fee, the cottage is 800 Php for a max of 8 persons, additional 20 Php per person if exceeds.

The last time, we went to Tingko Beach 2, and I think it’s better than Tingko Beach 1.
