Le tizi n'Tichka est un col à 2 260 mètres d'altitude situé sur la route entre Marrakech et Ouarzazate. Il permet de joindre les régions semi-arides du sud-est de l'Atlas depuis les plaines plus fertiles des bords de l'Atlantique.

tizi n'Tichka (littéralement le « col des pâturages » en tamazight) est un col à 2 260 mètres d'altitude situé sur la route entre Marrakech et Ouarzazate. Il permet de joindre les régions semi-arides du sud-est de l'Atlas depuis les plaines plus fertiles des bords de l'Atlantique.
تيزي نتشيكة هو معبر الجبلي بسلسلة جبال الأطلس الكبير. يقع هذا المعبر على الطريق الوطنية رقم 9 الرابطة بين ورززات و مراكش، وهو الأكثر ارتفاعا في المغرب (2300 متر)

Depart from Marrakech at 7am and head towards Tizn’t Tichka. At an altitude of 7,414.7 ft (2260 meters), it is the highest mountain pass in North Africa. Passing through beautiful Berber villages, you can discover the colors of the High Atlas Mountains.
La route vertigineuse et non moins périlleuse qui relie Marrakech et Ouarzazate traverse les plus beaux paysages du Haut-Atlas en passant par le passage de Tizi n’Tichka, le « col des pâturage », puis par la vallée Ounila qui recèle de secrets: des villages ocres qui se fondent dans les montagnes multicolores, des vergers en terrasse, des ksours troglodytiques et des kasbahs à l’abandon. C’est un concentré de beauté inégalable au sud du Maroc.

Atlas mountains form a range extending over a good part of Morocco, reaching 4000 m and higher. Tizi'n'Tichka is one of the best known passes at the altitude of 2260 m. It was built to replace the old caravan route to the Drâa and the south, which was controlled during the nineteenth century and much of the twentieth by the legendary Glaoui family, the greatest and most ambitious of all the Berber tribal leaders – their kasbah-headquarters, a vast complex of buildings abandoned only in 1956, still stands at Telouet, less than an hour from the main road.
The Ounila Valley links the Tizi'n'Tichka pass to Ait Ben Haddou and was originally the main thoroughfare for the trans-saharan trade route between Marrakesh and sub-saharan Africa. Today, evidence of this once highly important role is reflected in the numerous crumbling kasbah’s and ksar which are dotted all throughout the valley.
Shortly before Ait ben Haddou lies Kasbah Tamdaght. Also owned by the Glaoui family, the kasbah has not had much renovation over the years and is very near a state of complete ruin. Some rooms – even sections of the kasbah are inaccessible, but the main essence of the building is still alive. Many find Tamdaght to be a far more authentic experience of a southern Moroccan kasbah than it’s famous neighbour and Ridley Scott fell so in love with it’s rustic setting that he decided to a large scene of Gladiator (2000) here.
The famous ksar of Ait ben Haddou stands at one entrance to the valley (Ouarzazate direction) while the Telouet Kasbah of Thami El Glaoui – once Pasha of Marrakesh and the southern regions – stands at the other. All the kasbah’s and ksar inside the valley were built by families of high status and would have had the privilege of receiving gifts from across the world as a sort of tax for using the road.
Kasbah Tebi ius set in ancient Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site is old-world guesthouse housed in a Berber kasbah. The 12 rustic, candle-lit rooms with arched doorways, earthen walls and exposed timber ceilings feature en suite shower-only bathrooms. TVs, air-conditioning and electricity are not available and this makes this place really special - we loved it!!!.

Nous nous sommes arrêtés à un belvédère qui nous permet d'avoir une vue panoramique sur la route N9 qui zigzague inlassablement à travers la chaîne de montagnes.
Il y a un grand stationnement à proximité de ce belvédère.
Le panorama est tout simplement incroyable!
Il y a un second belvédère à 200 m plus loin. Je vous suggère d'y aller à pied puisqu'il faut stationner sa voiture en bordure de la route et l'espace n'est pas très grand. En plus, il y a une courbe à proximité.
C'est à ce second belvédère que la vue de cette route sinueuse est la plus sensationnelle.

Après cette pause, nous avons poursuivi notre chemin sur cette longue route comportant de belles courbes.
Nous sommes passés par le village de Taddart et nous nous sommes arrêtés en bordure de la route pour admirer le joli village berbère d'Ait Ben Ammar situé en bordure de l'oued Tichka.

Dans l'Atlas marocain, Col de Tizi n' Tichka 04 2017
Des deux côtés du col le plus haut de l'Atlas, le col de Tizi n'Tichka ( 2200 mètres) la route serpente en pays berbère, les couleurs changent et dans la descente virent au rouge!
