Exploring Tjoritja / West MacDonnell National Park | Australia's Red Center
In this video I meet up with two fellow travelers and explore Tjoritja / West MacDonnell National Park. This video kicks off my travels my travels inside Australia's Iconic Red Center. Tjoritja / West MacDonnell National Park is located Australia's Northern Territory fairly close to the town of Alice Springs. I met the 2 fellow travelers at a hostel in Alice Springs. The West MacDonnell Range is a 644 kilometer (400 mile) long series of mountains located in the center of Australia and is the one of the most spectacular and remote places I've ever been.
We were able to travel to all these locations without a 4WD vehicle and we (unfortunately) didn't do any overnight walks. Some of the highlights in this video were Ormiston Gorge, Serpentine Gorge, Ellery Creek, and Mount Sonder. I really enjoyed traveling with those blokes David and Jonas - I should have recorded more footage of all 3 of us together, but hey, no worries mate. If you're planning to travel to “the Alice,” I highly recommend a visit to Tjoritja / West MacDonnell National Park.

The Ormiston Gorge campground is divided into designated sites. There is a small kiosk beside the camping area and it's a very short walk to the waterhole which is stunningly beautiful.
The drive into this area is lovely and well worth a visit. This area is also a stop-over for the Larapinta Trail and there is a walk to the top of the gorge lookout.

SCUBA diving the SS Yongala shipwreck
In this episode, I go SCUBA diving on the SS Yongala! The SS Yongala was a 107 meter (350 ft) steel passenger and freight steamer that sank in 1911 off the eastern coast of Australia near Townsville. Sadly, all 122 passengers and crew died when the ship sank during a cyclone. This wreck is also located in the central section of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and has now become an established artificial reef that provides a structurally complex habitat for a diverse range of marine life. The company that took me out to the dive site was Yongala Dive Experience and I had a really good experience with them. I highly recommend a dive on the SS Yongala if you find yourself in that part of the world!
This video is part of a series of videos depicting my travels in Australia as I lived there for an entire year on a “Work and Holiday Visa.” Please consider subscribing for more videos from the beautiful land down under as well as other SCUBA diving, backpacking, and adventure travel videos!

Hiking near Blackheath | Blue Mountains National Park
In this episode, I go to the town of Blackheath to get to the Blue Mountains National Park. This gives me access to an entirely new part of the park. I only went on day walks in this area, but there was plenty to see. Some of the highlights include Bridal Veil Falls (the tallest single-drop waterfall in Blue Mountains National Park), a crimson rosella parrot, eastern water skinks, and I also mention the sugar glider which is native to the park.
This was sort of the last walk for me before returning to the city to find work. However, I returned here several times during my weekends while working and it really became a refreshing weekend getaway location for me while I was working in Sydney. I will be highlighting another trip to the Blue Mountains in a future video, but that'll be on down the line a bit.
