Cooking class in Singapore!
Do you love to cook or love to eat out?
Or do you love both, like us?
One of my favorite dates is a cooking class. Doing something hands-on, learning, and eating at the same time? Sign me up!
We went to the best cooking class in Singapore at @foodplayground. They have stay-at-home moms teach their cultural, heirloom family recipes and give a lot of cultural background while they teach. I learned some of the most fascinating things about cooking in Chinese culture. (Disclaimer: this is one person’s opinion!)
For example, did you know that the “master” chef will never teach all of their tips and tricks to the student because they want to remain the master. ????So they will teach about 90%. These secrets stay with them until they die and dies with them! What?! One of our teachers, when she realized this, started frantically asking the older generation of women all those 10% secrets!
Also, mothers give more cooking secrets to their daughter-in-laws than their own daughters because the first is feeding the son!
I loved the class so much after our date, I brought back the oldest kids, Lucy, Grant and Lincoln.

City Gas Cooking Classes 2014 - Thai Class by Chef Forest Leong
It was another fun-filled Saturday at our Cooking Classes! Chef Forest Leong’s friendly and approachable nature welcomed our participants to learn plenty of her tips and cooking methods.
Chef Forest shared with the class 3 of the recipes that she has been familiar with since she was young: Salmon Galangal in Light Coconut Broth, Braised Pork Rib with Turmeric & Chili and Warmed Coated Sweet Yam in Young Coconut. It was an interactive session; participants not only observe Chef Forest’s live demonstration of the cooking, they also get to taste the dishes that she prepared and most of them left with Chef Forest’s tips on her distinctive Thai cuisine-preparation methods.
