NAGANO Togakushi Chu-Sha Shrine | Day trip into the snowy mountains of Japan
Go to for the full guide.
I woke up at 6:30am and went downstairs to have a coffee and catch up on some writing, this very post in fact… Everyone else woke up around 7:45am. We left at 9:10am to try to catch the bus at Nagano station to go to Togakushi Shrine. We bought round trip tickets at the bus ticket office (across the street from the train station) for 2400 Yen. The next bus was at 10:40am so we went to get some breakfast.
Togakushi Shrine Nagano Japan
The bus ride took about and hour and wound in circles up the hills and into the mountains. We got off at Togakushi Chu-sha Shrine (the middle shrine of three). The snow was still pretty deep in places, but the sun was warm and it was 14 degrees Celsius.

Walking around Nozawa Onsen Village, Nagano, Japan Last Part
#happylogrono #nozawaonsen #nagano #Japan
For our last day in Nagano, we went for a half day trip in Nozawa Onsen. The ski resorts are closed in the area due to insufficient snow so we just walked around the traditional Japanese town and soaked to one of the 13 free public onsen throughout the village. We ended our day eating dinner in Ramen Street of Tokyo.
We are so sad to leave Nagano. We've gained another experience and good memories on this trip. Our heart is full hearing a lot of I love U's, Thank U's and I love our family.
Dad and Mom: But beside these words, the special part of this travel is their transformation. A more responsible traveller looking after each other, willing to learn and try new things.

Togakushi Nagano
Known for soba noodles, Togakushi in Nagano prefecture, is not as famous as the larger ski resorts like Niseko in Hokkaido or Yuzawa in Niigata.

Skiing in Togakushi
Hane you ever been to the Tagakushi ski area?
It's a one of the best ski areas in Nagano prefecture I think, if you would like to enjoy a beautiful scenery.
ISI Nagano Campus
Nagano Campus is located in Ueda, where the Winter Olympics 1998 took place due to its rich natural resources, and it's just 1 hour and 30 minutes away by shinkansen from Tokyo.
Ueda has been known as an industrial city in Japan so, compared to bigger cities like Tokyo and Osaka, is cheaper and the beautiful scenery makes it the best environment for studying. Ski resorts are 1 hour away by car so many students take the chance to ski and learn Japanese during Winter. Looking forward to meeting you in Nagano!
Togakushi Shrine (Giant Cedar Trees) Nagano, Japan Part 4
#happylogrono #nagano #togakushishrine #Japan #nature
A visit to a National Park is a must when we travel. Today, we trekked the Togakushi Shrine in the forested mountains of Myoko-Togakushi renzan National Park. Chilly and slippery conditions along our way took us 2 hrs to reach the upper shrine which spectacularly stands in the steep mountainside of Mt. Togakushi. The long row of Japanese cedar trees leading to the approach of the upper shrine is simply overwhelming.
Before leaving Togakushi which is known as the birthplace of Soba, we enjoyed another soba noodles to fill us up.
