Tokyo Student Life - TUFS Study Abroad
Tokyo's TUFS University has the most beautiful campus! For a year I've studied Japanese here and loved every moment. After much demand, here's a look at Tokyo student life. Of course there's beer!

As a British Exchange Student, spending a year abroad in Japan, I'm studying for a year in Tokyo, at TUFS University.
Tokyo University of Foreign Studies 東京外国語大学, or TUFS, is located in west Tokyo, in the area of Fuchu. The amazing campus is is filled with beautiful architecture and nature, a real sight once you get up high. A wonderful place to spend a Japan year abroad.
Japanese convenience stores, or 'conbini', are incredibly useful. I was able to order from Amazon and easily collect the order from a Lawson conbini. The Loppi machines are great for ordering concert tickets, museum tickets, and even tickets to the infamous Ghibli Museum, which is in the nearby area of Mitaka. Living in Tokyo is very convenient!
The local station is Tama, a short walk away, and just to left of the station is Sankichi, our favourite lunch spot. The Kankoku-yokubari-don is a rice bowl dish filled with everything; beef, chicken, egg, rice, fish cakes, and literally translates to 'lusting after Korea - rice bowl'. And it's only 650yen! Bargain!
You may have seen my previous video of the TUFS Gaigosai Festival, 外語祭 東京, where hundreds of students transform the campus into food stalls from all over the world.

Interesting things to do in Fuchu - Tokyo's Mystery City
Fuchu is one of Tokyo's best kept secrets. With interesting historical and cultural sites, fantastic food and drinks, and a connection to the Rugby World Cup, it's worth exploring on your next trip to Tokyo.

Hinoki Dormitory - Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology
TUAT student dormitories were built to ensure good living and studying environment as well as to support enriching student life through cohabitation. The Hinoki Dormitory provides affordable accommodation for both Japanese and foreign students.
Moreover, Hinoki Dormitory has a special role: it is not only a student dormitory, but a place of mutual development within the local community. For this reason, students selected to reside in the dormitory are not only expected to actively exchange with other Japanese and foreign residents, but also to build and maintain a healthy relationship with the local community. Applicants are advised to read the annex “Important considerations for the Hinoki Dormitory” (at the end of these guidelines) thoroughly before applying as they will be required to sign a Pledge as a precondition for residence.
Establishment objectives.
In order to raise global human resources who can work in the global stage, Hinoki Dormitory provides a suitable environment for students to dedicate to their studies and help them develop a healthy and open global mind; by promoting the cohabitation of both Japanese and foreign students, it also assists them in deepening their multicultural understanding and building a global friendship network.
Management policy
Hinoki Dormitory is managed according to the following principles:
・As a place of learning that supports students with financial difficulties and ensure their safe living;
・As a place to deepen the mutual understanding between Japanese and foreign students and stimulate globalization; and
・As a place of social learning through the dormitory life and exchanges with local community
