Leo Tolstoy in Yasnaya Polyana (1908-1910) documentary
The first shots of the silent film montage (Lev Tolstoy celebrating his eightieth birthday party in 1908) were taken by Aleksandr Osipovich Drankov (1886-1949), and his two assistants, I. S. Frolov and V. Vasiliev. It seems to be the first film taken of Tolstoy.
The next shots (the death of Tolstoy) are excerpts from a Pathe Russia film released in 1910.

STORYLINE:
Descendants of the 19th century Russian writer Leo Tolstoy laid flowers on his modest grave in the Yasnaya Polyana estate 200 kilometers south of Moscow, rode horses, and mixed with children from a local kindergarten.
The author of the War and Peace has about 230 descendants now living in Russia, the United States, Sweden and other Western European countries.
A total of 90 Tolstoy's relatives gathered this year for a week-long family reunion in the sprawling estate to mark the 140th anniversary of the marriage of Tolstoy and his wife, Sofia, and the 150th anniversary of the publication of the writer's first story, Childhood.
Tatiana Paus, 87, one of the two surviving grandchildren of Tolstoy, has made her 6th pilgrimage to Yasnaya Polyana from her home in Sweden.
She left Russia at age three when her parents fled the 1917 Bolshevik revolution. She grew up in Sweden, and like many members of the Tolstoy family, she does not speak Russian.
Great-great grandson Vladimir Tolstoy, director of the Tolstoy memorial in Yasnaya Polyana, believes the estate is the foundation for the family.
Two of Vladimir's four children were born in Yasnaya Polyana.

Yasnaya Polyana
Yasnaya Polyana (Russian: Я́сная Поля́на, literally: Bright Glade) is a writer's house museum, the former home of the writer Leo Tolstoy.
Tolstoy was born, wrote War and Peace and Anna Karenina in the house and is buried nearby. Tolstoy called Yasnaya Polyana his inaccessible literary stronghold.[1] It is 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) southwest of Tula, Russia, and 200 kilometres (120 mi) from Moscow.
In June 1921, the estate was nationalized and formally became his memorial museum. It was at first run by Alexandra Tolstaya, the writer's daughter. The current director of the museum is Vladimir Tolstoy, also one of Tolstoy's descendants.[2] The museum contains Tolstoy's personal effects and movables, as well as his library of 22,000 volumes. The estate-museum contains the writer's mansion, the school he founded for peasant children and a park where Tolstoy's unadorned grave is situated.

Heroes & History: Lessons for Leadership from Tolstoy's War & Peace
Stanford Graduate School of Business Professor Emeritus James March takes a look at the lessons of Tolstoy’s War and Peace for leadership, examining the limitations of heroic visions of leaders that Tolstoy exposed. The film uses the portrayal of leaders in War and Peace as a basis for raising questions about standard heroic stories of leadership. It explores some ways in which the complexities and ambiguities of history make standard narratives emphasizing the visionary role of leadership in history more mythic than real.

Ilya Repin. ( #3) The Golden Age of Russian Culture-Edad de oro de la cultura rusa(Engl&Esp)
The XIX century is referred to as the golden age of Russian culture: an unprecedented era, starting in the early romanticism and blooms in the nationalistics period and realism.
In 1862 the Russian land commemorates its first millennium with the grand monument in Novgorod, first capital of the Rus.
Repin's work will take over: his paintings, displayed in museums as the Tretyakov Gallery are really an 'encyclopaedia of life in Russia, a visual summary of the best known figures in music, literature...arts, science, politics, and also the protagonists (individuals, group and ideas) that made history in those stormy decades leading to the upheaval of the XX century revolutions.

SUMMARY
=======
Agni Yoga (Russian: Агни Йога) or the Living Ethics (Russian: Жива́я Этика), or the Teaching of Life (Russian: Учение Жизни) is a one of the neo-theosophical religious doctrine transmitted by the Helena Roerich and Nicholas Roerich from 1920. The term Agni Yoga means “Mergence with Divine Fire” or “Path to Mergence with Divine Fire”. This term was introduced by the Roerichs. The followers of Agni Yoga believe that the teaching was given to the Roerich family and their associates by Master Morya, the guru of Roerichs and Helena Blavatsky, one of the founders of the modern theosophical movement and the Theosophical Society.
Agni Yoga is a path of practice in daily life. It is the yoga of fiery energy, of consciousness, of responsible, directed thought. It teaches that the evolution of the planetary consciousness is a pressing necessity and that, through individual striving, it is an attainable aspiration for mankind. According to Helena Roerich, Agni Yoga is the synthesis of all yogas. In all the ancient Hindu scriptures, the approaching Fiery Age was predicted. Agni-Fire, which to a varying degree is at the heart of all the yogas, will extremely sate the atmosphere of our planet, and all the branches of Yoga will be merged into a fiery synthesis. Agni Yoga is a fire baptism.
The most significant features of Agni Yoga are cosmism and universalism. They are expressed in the interpretation of any phenomena of human existence from the point of view of their cosmic significance and interrelation with the being of the Universe.
Agni Yoga played a significant role in bringing knowledge of Asian religions to Western world. Living Ethics has an international following and has thousands of adherents. The ideas of Teaching of Life have exerted an influence on another esoteric movements and philosophies, among them the New Age and Transhumanism.
