6:30 a.m. breakfast at the Miyazaki Ekimae Toyoko Inn. Then a taxi ride to the Miyazaki Tom Watson Phoenix Golf Course. See below for golf information. After the morning rounds we went BURA-BURA. First we went to the Phoenix Golf Course where “L” tried to buy some golf souvenir/gifts with Miyazaki name on them but couldn’t find too many stuffs li’ dat. Then we went upstairs for our lunch-dinner. Was kinda expensive but was ONO! Wow, saving some calories with one less meal. This is the course which the pros will be playing next week so they were setting up the stands for the golf gallery, etc. Another interesting thing is this course has lady caddies; one per 4-some and she pushes (probably motorized) a cart loaded with 4 bags. Then we grabbed a cab and picked up a friend, a mother one one of the Maui boys and stopped at the Golf 5 Miyazaki store. It is a really nice big golf shop but boring if you don’t shop! I was standing around and the clerk felt sorry for me, brought out a folding chair and said “eh brah, plant yo’ butt and rest yo’ feet!” Yes, ma’am. Then a cab ride to the Miyazaki train station. “L” and friend went more shopping while I went back to the hotel.

6:30 a.m. breakfast at the Miyazaki Ekimae Toyoko Inn. This old man (MOI) gotta follow my own routine and have breakfast. “L” said she might skip breakfast but she came down later because had time to catch a cab (2020-yen) to the Miyazaki Tom Watson Phoenix Golf Course and met the Hawaii team. This is the first time I’ve seen a junior golf tournament. Uuuuuuuuuu, da kids are awesomely goooooood! See below for golf information. “L” noticed everywhere “T’s” group went, there were 3 professional cameras taking videos. Well, this evening’s news “MRT Sports” featured “T’s” foursome. Except, it wasn’t about “T” they were excited about, but the Japanese 13-year old girl on “T’s” opposing team. Apparently, she might be the next Michelle Wie of Japan! I thought she played well (well, they beat “T’s” team). I took a break at the 9th hole and then walked around watching the kids some more.
The golf match ended around 2 p.m. and “L” and I caught a cab to the Aeon Mall. It is a really nice complex about halfway between the golf resort and the Miyazaki station. We walked around a bit and found a restaurant that looked kinda sorta OK. I thought I had a nice meal – “L” sayz hers was so-so! She wanted to walk around the mall some more and me not being a shopper, caught da bus (220-yen) back to Miyazaki station and basically called it a day. I made a video of a basic golf event and posted it on Youtube. Off course, I took a few more pics of “T” so I’ll include them in this BURA-BURA video. Hope the Hawaii team does better tomorrow. Someone took a video of this evening’s TV news and I’ve included that clip.

Miyazaki BURA-BURA – Breakfast at the Kagoshima-chuo-eki Nishi-guchi Toyoko Inn at 7:00 a.m. Then “L” and I went boogie on down to the train station to catch a limited express train to Miyazaki city. Got there at 10:57 a.m., dropped our junks off at the Miyazaki eki-mae Toyoko Inn and then went back to the train station. The station had a small shopping complex with a small Daiso 100-yen shop so I had to wait while someone went shopping in the store. Then we jumped on one bus (510-yen) for the Miyazaki Tom Watson Phoenix Golf Course to check out the layout of that place. The Hawaii Junior golfers’ team and “T” will be competing in the Asia Pacific Junior Cup Tournament. The golf items are on a separate Youtube video. See “GOLF items” below. And now you know why I made an exception to my “no more 2016 trips” rule and flew out here! : )
After chatting with some Hawaii people, we decided to head back to the hotel and “L” got the idea to walk back to the hotel. Good exercise yeh? Took us 1:45 minutes to walk back. Checked into the hotel, dumped our stuffs in the room and walked around looking for a restaurant. Meanwhile we came across a Daiso 100-yen store so of course had to make a detour and look/shop around. Didn’t find any restaurant we liked so we bought stuffs from the Family Mart convenience store and ate dinner in our hotel.

Miyazaki BURA-BURA – 6:30 a.m. breakfast at the Miyazaki Ekimae Toyoko Inn. Yahoo.com sayz it is 55-degrees. “L’s” phone sayz it is 52-degrees! Uuuuuuu, another nice, crisp morning! We started our BURA-BURA this morning at 9:00 a.m. Nice walk until we passed by a Max Value supermarket! Uuuuuuuu, guess who turned and went into the market! Uuuuuuuu, everything pretty inexpensive and good looking. “L” picked up items from Miyazaki such as salad dressing, shoyu, etc. Also a bunch of snacks for the kids golfing and a case of Pocari Sweat a sports drink for them. Uuuuuuuu, so much to carry back to the hotel. Well we dumped the stuffs off and continued on our BURA-BURA. Then I needed a nature break so I stopped at a restaurant while “L” went on ahead to go look at a golf shop. I had a glass of red wine and a plate of “potatoes” (i.e., freedom fries!). Then back to the hotel at around 1:40 p.m. Then at 2:10 p.m. a bus ride to the Miyazaki Tom Watson Phoenix Golf Course. Today is the Junior Amateur Tournament. See below for more golf information. Afterwards, “L” and I snuck out of the day-ending ceremony and caught a cab back to Miyazaki station (2730-yen). Yikes, kinda TA-KA-I yeh! We should have walked back. “L” went to the Max Value store to buy more snacks for the kids tomorrow. Too tired so I went back to the hotel. Also too tired to go out to dinner so I treated myself to another bento dinner.

DYA717 Kyushu, Japan Nov 10, 2016 Back to Hakata BURA BURA
6:30 a.m. breakfast at the Miyazaki Ekimae Toyoko Inn. Then a cab ride to the Miyazaki Tom Watson Phoenix Golf Course. See below for golf information. After golf we decided to skip the closing ceremonies and went HE-LE on back to Miyazaki station. We got onto an early train from Miyazaki to Kagoshima-chuo station, transferred to a shinkansen and headed to Hakata station. We met “Cr” & “Co” on the train. We got into Hakata at around 6 p.m. It was cold and drizzling. We che cked into the Toyoko Inn Hakata-eki Minami. Then we went BURA-BURA. First we tried to the train station. Then we went to exit 4 down one floor and found one restaurant row. I tried to find the sushi restaurant “K” & I went to a few years ago and looked for the Maguro special. Never had. So we went across to another restaurant and found some good stuffs. “L” had a sashimi special and I had some kind of chicken. “L” decided she wanted to shop some so I said “TA-TA, see ya latah”. So here I am back at the hotel, finishing up my video blog! kekekekeke
