Abū-Muhammad Muslih al-Din bin Abdallāh Shīrāzi, Saadi Shīrāzi or Saadi, (1210-1292) was one of the main Persian poets. The poet, philosopher, author of two great collections: Golestan (Flower Garden) and Bustan (Livada / Fruit Garden and hundreds of lyrical productions, gazes and queens.) The great poet's works debut a multitude of topics and predominantly preach love, friendship, eros and religious devotion.

Poetul, filozof, autorul a două vaste culegeri : Golestan (Gradina florilor) și Bustan (Livada / Gradina Fructelor si sute de producții lirice, gazeluri si catrene . . Lucrările marelui poet dezbat o multitudine de subiecte și preamaresc cu preponderență dragostea, prietenia, erosul și devotamentul religios.

The Tomb of Saadi commonly known as Saadie , is a tomb and mausoleum dedicated to the Persian poet Saadi in the Iranian city of Shiraz. Saadi was buried at the end of his life at a Khanqah at the current location. In the 13th century a tomb built for Saadi by Shams al-Din Juvayni, the vizir of Abaqa Khan. In the 17th century, this tomb was destroyed. During the reign of Karim Khan was built a mausoleum of two floors of brick and plaster, flanked by two rooms. The current building was built between 1950 and 1952 to a design by the architect Mohsen Foroughi and is inspired by the Chehel Sotoun with a fusion of old and new architectural elements. Around the tomb on the walls are seven verses of Saadi’s poems.

Tomb of Saadi is one of the tourist attractions of Shiraz city. Saadi is one of the great Iranian poets who has many lovers, and his words have been quoted by Persian speaking people inside Iran and outside alike. Even Western sources have quoted him and continue to do so.
The mausoleum of this great poet, like other poets of this city, is a beautiful example of unique Persian gardens. The grave is inside an octagonal edifice on top of which stands an fantastic azure blue dome and inside the mausoleum all around the walls are inscribed with verses of Saadi’s poems. Inside the mausoleum yard and in front of the entrance of the tomb lies a beautiful pond. People throw coins into the pond so that their wishes would come true.

Saadi - Abū-Muhammad Muslih al-Dīn bin Abdallāh Shīrāzī, Saadi Shirazi (Persian: ابومحمد مصلح الدین بن عبدالله شیرازی) and Hafez - Khwāja Shamsu d-Dīn Muhammad Hāfez-e Shīrāzī (Persian: خواجه شمس دین محمد حافظ شیرازی) are the most important Persian poets of the medieval period. They are adored by the Persians until today.
Saadi's Bustan- The Orchad and Golestan - The Rose Garden as well as Hafez' Divan belong to the world's major works of classic literature.
Both poets were natives of Shiraz. Their tombs are a part of the main sights of the city of Shiraz. Saadi's tomb is situated inside the Saadi-Mausoleum (Bustan Blvd., Shiraz) and Hafez' tomb was erected in the Musalla Gardens in Shiraz. The current Hafiz-Mausoleum was designed by the French archaeologist and architect André Godard in the late 1930s.
Visiting Shiraz it's a must to go to those places. There are not many sites on Earth where poets are honoured the way they are by the Persians.
Humans are peers of a united race,
Thus in creation, share the same base.
If one is affected with pain,
Others share the faith of same.
When you are indifferent to this pain,
You shall not earn the Humans' name.

Saadi of Shiraz (سعدی شیرازی Saadi Shirazi), was a major Persian poet and literary of the medieval period. He is recognized for the quality of his writings and for the depth of his social and moral thoughts.
Saadi is widely recognized as one of the greatest poets of the classical literary tradition, earning him the nickname Master of Speech (استاد سخن) or The Master among Persian scholars.
He has been quoted in the Western traditions as well.

In May 07, the Fellowship of Reconciliation's American Friendship delegation in Iran visited the tomb of the famous Persian poet Saadi. This is a short film about the visit. This is a place were people in Iran come to make prayers and wishes for love, or as a romantic place for a date. There is a beautiful below-ground room with a well where people can have refreshments and icecream.

Abū-Muhammad Muslih al-Dīn, better known as Saadi Shirazi, (1210-1291 AD) was one of the great Persian poets of the medieval period. He is not only famous in Persian-speaking countries, but has also been quoted in western sources. He is recognized for the quality of his writings and for the depth of his social and moral thoughts. Saadi is widely recognized as one of the greatest masters of the classical literary tradition. His best known works are Bostan (The Orchard) completed in 1257 and Gulistan(The Rose Garden) in 1258. He is buried in north of Shiraz in a beautiful ‘garden tomb’, at a place of his choice.
One of his poems 'Bani Adam' (Human Being) is inscribed on United Nations building entrance in USA which reads as under:
Human beings are members of a whole,
In creation of one essence and soul.
If one member is afflicted with pain,
Other members uneasy will remain.
If you've no sympathy for human pain,
The name of human you cannot retain!
