Below is Wikipedia's entry on the historical monument.
The Canadian Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (in French: Tombe du Soldat Inconnu) is located before the National War Memorial in Confederation Square, Ottawa, Ontario. The culmination of a project begun by the Royal Canadian Legion, the tomb was added to the war memorial in 2000 and holds the remains of an unidentified Canadian soldier who died in France during World War I. The soldier was selected from a cemetery in the vicinity of Vimy Ridge, the site of a famous Canadian battle.

Canada’s “Unknown Soldier” | VeteransAffairsCa
May 28, 2000-Canada’s “Unknown Soldier” was laid to rest at the base of the National War Memorial in Ottawa.
Many countries around the world have special tombs honouring those who lost their lives in military service and have no known final resting place. Canada established its own Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in May 2000 when the remains of a Canadian soldier were exhumed from a First World War cemetery in France and flown home to Canada. His casket laid in state for three days in the Hall of Honour in the Centre Block on Parliament Hill before being transported to his final resting place in front of the National War Memorial on May 28, 2000.
