Manhattan
Manhattan is the most densely populated borough of New York City, its economic and administrative center, and the city's historical birthplace.[2] The borough is coterminous with New York County, founded on November 1, 1683 as one of the original counties of the U.S. state of New York. The borough consists mostly of Manhattan Island, bounded by the East, Hudson, and Harlem Rivers, and also includes several small adjacent islands and Marble Hill, a small neighborhood on the U.S. mainland.
Many districts and landmarks in Manhattan have become well known, as New York City received a record of nearly 60 million tourists in 2015,[22] and Manhattan hosts three of the world's 10 most-visited tourist attractions in 2013: Times Square, Central Park, and Grand Central Terminal.[23] The borough hosts many world-renowned bridges, such as the Brooklyn Bridge; skyscrapers such as the Empire State Building, one of the tallest skyscrapers in the world;[24] and parks, such as Central Park. There are many historically significant places in Manhattan: Chinatown incorporates the highest concentration of Chinese people in the Western Hemisphere,[25] and the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village is considered the birthplace of the modern gay rights movement.[26][27] The City of New York was founded at the southern tip of Manhattan,[2] and the borough houses New York City Hall, the seat of the City's Government.[28] Numerous colleges and universities are located in Manhattan,[29] including Columbia University, New York University, and Rockefeller University, which have been ranked among the top 35 in the world.
New York City

미국 뉴욕 여행 (New York City - United States of America)
I have delayed it again and again, and finally I finished editing NYC video! ???????????? New Yorkers are always open-minded and energetic and there was much to do in New York so I lost count of time. While I was making the video, I looked back the trip and decided to visit NYC again someday.

New York At Christmas (2016) - Tommy Tune
music: Richard Currier
words: Jim Piazza
Christmas in the air and my heart is here and there
The Yellow Rose of Texas is mistletoe to me
But come December, I suddenly remember
That Manhattan is the only place to be...
A Santa Claus on every block, Radio City
Skyscrapers wrapped with a bow
It's Christmas Eve around the clock, In New York City
Wish you were here for the show
Thought it won't be as merry without you tonight
I've still got Broadway to make Christmas bright
The neon glow of falling snow lights up the city
New York is Christmas to me
If dreams come true and here they do
Soon I'll be seeing
New York at Christmas with you
If you long for the song of a snow crested lark
It's just a subway to old Central Park
The neon glow of falling snow lights up the city
New York is Christmas to me
If dreams come true and here they do
Soon I'll be seeing
New York at Christmas with you...
Light up the City!
New York is Christmas to me.

Tommy first introduced this Christmas song,New York At Christmas (In Tribute to 9/11) in his off-Broadway review, White Tie and Tails, at The Little Shubert Theater on West 42nd Street, NYC. THE (MUSIC) TO THE INTRO WOULD COME UP AND IT BEGAN TO SNOW ON STAGE!
The President of The United States presented Tommy with The National Medal of Arts in November 2003. He added this honor to his already unprecedented nine Tony Awards in four different categories plus, eight Drama Desk Awards, two Obie Awards, two (Fred) Astaire Awards, the American Dance Award, the Drama League Award, and the George Abbott Award for Lifetime Achievement... and they keep coming!
Tommy has sung and danced for three U.S. Presidents, Queen Elizabeth II, The Royal Family of Monaco. In 1991, Gwen Verdon inducted him into Broadway's Theatre Hall of Fame, and Hollywood soon followed suit when three years later he was honored with his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame appropriately placed directly in front of the Capezio Dancewear shop.
In 1965 Tommy first danced on Broadway in the chorus of Baker Street. In 1967 he was in A Joyful Noise and 1968, How Now Dow Jones. Five years and countless raves later Tommy received his first Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical in Michael Bennett's, Seesaw.
Tommy's directing debut was the Off-Broadway hit, The Club, in 1976. Back on Broadway, but this time as choreographer and co-director Tune gave us The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas followed by A Day in Hollywood / A Night in the Ukraine, for which he won his second Tony Award, this time for Best Choreography. He returned to Off-Broadway in 1981 to direct the controversial production of Carol Churchill's Cloud 9. The next year Tommy brought us Nine, The Musical for which he won his third Tony, his first for directing a Broadway Musical. A double Tony Award win followed for Tommy as Best Actor in a Musical and Best Choreography for the Broadway hit My One and Only co-starring Twiggy. Grand Hotel, The Musical followed with Tony wins for Best Choreography and Best Director and the following year, Tommy did what no artist had done before when he won the same two prestigious honors back to back this time for, The Will Rogers Follies.
Tommy has shied away from Hollywood, appearing in only two films early in his career. He played Ambrose Kemper in Hello, Dolly starring Barbra Streisand, Walter Matthau, Michael Crawford, Louis Armstrong and directed by Gene Kelly. Tommy played Tommy in Ken Russell's The Boy Friend and starred with Twiggy.
In 1997 Tommy wrote, Footnotes, a memoir about his life in the theater. The same year he recorded Slow Dancin', a CD compilation of his favorite romantic ballads. The end of the millennium was the beginning of a dream come when he made his Las Vegas debut as the star of EFX, the ninety million dollar spectacular at the MGM Grand Hotel.
I first met Tommy through our mutual friend Michel Stuart (original cast member of A Chorus Line) in 1974. I went to their loft Giraffe House to audition new songs for Tommy. Thirty years later, Tommy chose to sing New York at Christmas and it became an Overnight Success.
I forgot to mention that Tommy is 6 foot 6 and 1/2 inches tall, a really big guy! He is a truly brilliant, sweet and a very kind man.
Sincerely,
Richard Currier

Tommy Robinson: New York is NOT Safe
(HELP TOMMY spread his message!
It seems like the mayor of New York City is using the same line as British politicians - we will not be cowed.
But they are! New York is NOT safe! After the most recent terror attack, it's clearer than ever that New York, and the United States, are faced with the same threat as Britain and the rest of Europe.
PS: The Tommy Robinson Show videos are all free, so we can spread the important message about what is happening to our country — and western civilization. But we need your help to survive. Please pitch in as little as £1 if you want Tommy to keep getting his message out to the world. Thank you! tommyrobinson.com/donate

USA: FIRST BULLET TRAIN
English/Nat
The United States' first bullet train pulled out of Union Station in Washington D-C on Thursday for its record-breaking inaugural run to New York, carrying V-I-Ps and the long-term hopes of Amtrak and high-speed rail service in the U-S.
The snub-nosed Acela Express made the Washington-to-New York trip in two hours, 26 minutes, arriving two minutes ahead of schedule and setting an Amtrak speed record when it hit 135 mph (216kph) in New Jersey.
The old record was 125 mph (200 kph).
The train was expected to reach its top speed of 150 mph (241kph) later on the trip from New York to Boston.
Tommy Thompson, the Wisconsin governor and chairman of Amtrak, was among a big crowd of dignitaries to welcome the French and Canadian-built train into New York's Pennsylvania Station.
He was also joined in the arrival ceremony by U-S Transportation Secretary, Rodney Slater.
SOUNDBITE: (English)
I am delighted to participate in today's official inauguration of Acela Express service between Washington D-C, through New York City, the financial capital of the world, and on to Boston.
SUPER CAPTION: Rodney Slater, U-S Transportation Secretary.
When regular passenger service in the north-eastern U-S begins December 11, America finally will have a rail line comparable to the high-speed train service common in Europe and Japan.
Amtrak officials and rail enthusiasts hope favorable publicity will increase the demand for similar high-speed lines elsewhere in the country.
Acela Express will cut about a half-hour off the current Metroliner service between Washington and New York and about 45 minutes off the New York-to-Boston trip.
Speed is not the only attraction of Acela Express.
Passengers on the VIP-only maiden trip remarked about the spacious restrooms, oversized windows and brightly colored blue-and-purple seats.
Once a leader in rail travel, the United States has fallen decades behind other countries. Japan's Shinkansen trains, introduced just before the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, regularly hit 186 mph (300 kph) and have reached maximum speeds of 275 mph (442kph) in test runs.
France's high speed TGV trains, launched in the late 1960s, also cruise at 186 mph (300kph).
Acela Express operates with a sensor-driven tilt system that allows the train to maintain high speeds through curves.
Problems with the tilt technology, along with premature wheel wear, forced a delay in plans to begin Acela Express in October last year.

⁴ᴷ Walking Tour of The New York Public Library Main Branch (Stephen A. Schwarzman Building)
I complete a walk through most of the publicly accessible areas of The New York Public Library Main Branch (Stephen A. Schwarzman Building) in Manhattan during a busy spring day in June 2018.
From Wikipedia:
The Stephen A. Schwarzman Building of the New York Public Library, originally called the Central Building and more widely known as the Main Branch or as the New York Public Library, is the flagship building in the New York Public Library system and a prominent historic landmark in Midtown Manhattan. The branch, opened in 1911, is one of four research libraries in the library system. It currently contains area of 646,680 square feet (60,079 m2) and four stories open to public. The main entrance steps are on Fifth Avenue opposite East 41st Street.
The Library's famous Rose Main Reading Room (Room 315) is a majestic 78 by 297 feet (24 by 91 m), with 52-foot (16 m)-high ceilings. The room is lined with thousands of reference works on open shelves along the floor level and along the balcony, lit by massive windows and grand chandeliers, and furnished with sturdy wood tables, comfortable chairs, and brass lamps. It is also equipped with computers providing access to library collections and the Internet as well as docking facilities for laptops. Readers study books brought to them from the library's closed stacks. There are special rooms named for notable authors and scholars, many of whom have done important research and writing at the Library. But the Library has always been about more than scholars; during the Great Depression, many members of the general public, out of work, used the Library to improve their lot in life, as they still do.
The building was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1965, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966, and designated a New York City Landmark in 1967. It was renamed in 2008 after businessman Stephen A. Schwarzman, who donated a large sum of money for the refurbishment of the building.

The Cleftones were an American vocal group formed in 1952 who were then called The Silvertones at Junior High School 40(Jamaica,New York) In 1955, the members of the group were high school students attending Jamaica High School (Queens,New York). which included future members of the Cleftones. Herb Cox (lead singer) along with classmates Charles McGhee (James) (First tenor), Berman Patterson (Second tenor), Warren Corbin (Bass), and William Buzzy McClane (Baritone) changed the lyrics to Gee (The Crows song, a then-popular rhythm-and-blues song by The Crows). New York. The Hit song Gee was originally produced by gruff music industry legend George Goldner, who also signed the now New name changed Cleftones to a recording contract in 1955.In their first effort as professional musicians, Corbin and Patterson wrote You Baby You, which became a hit in 1955. Herb Cox then wrote Little Girl of Mine and Can't We Be Sweethearts, for the group. However, after a few minor hits (Why you do me Like you do & See you next year) their next major hits would not come until years later. In 1961 the 2nd generation of The Cleftones included Herb Cox, Charlie James, Warren Corbin, Gene Pearson (Baritone from the Rivileers that replaced baritone William Buzzy McClane), and new addition Pat Spann, the first and only female to sing with the group. They reached #18 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with Heart and Soul, a rearrangement of a 1938 song of the same name.[1] The group followed that song with For Sentimental Reasons (1962), a rearrangement of a 1936 song of the same name.[1] However, the British Invasion of the mid-1960s took the audiences of the Cleftones and other doo-wop groups.[2]
The Elegants is an American doo-wop vocal group, that was started in 1958 by Vito Picone, Arthur Venosa, Frank Tardogno, Carmen Romano and James Mochella in South Beach, Staten Island, New York. Before their nursery rhyme inspired song, Little Star, became a number one hit, the band usually performed informally under the boardwalk by their homes. Little Star was the only million seller for the group, and was written by Venosa and Picone. It spent 19 weeks in the Billboard Hot 100, earning gold disc status. In early 1970s, lead singer Picone returned to the group replacing Tardogno as the lead singer. That group comprising Vito Picone, Freddie Redmond, Nino Amato and Bruce Copp have been together ever since and to this date, have not stopped touring. They can be seen annually performing at the San Gennaro Festival, in Little Italy, Manhattan, New York. According to the Elegants website, Freddie Redmond died of emphysema in 2006, and was replaced by original member, James Moschella. As of 2012, the Elegants are still performing at concerts and events throughout the United States, under the name Vito Picone & The Elegants.
The Robroys formed in New York in 1956, and were one of the few interracial groups recording at this time. The group takes its name from the Rob Roy cocktail. The members of the group were Norman Fox (lead), Bob Trotman (first tenor), Andre Lilly (second tenor), Robert Thierer (baritone), and Marshall Buzzy Helfand (bass). The group signed to the Backbeat label, a subsidiary of Duke/Peacock in 1957, and recorded three singles, generally upbeat doo-wop tracks: Tell Me Why, Lover Doll, and Dance Girl Dance. The group then signed to Capitol Records in 1958. Helfand left the group at this time, and was replaced by new bass Paul Schneller. One single was recorded, Pizza Pie,
