TONG LANG BEACH | KOH LARN | BEACHES IN THAILAND | PATTAYA, THAILAND
Just off Pattaya in the Gulf of Thailand is Koh Larn, also known as Coral Island. Measuring four kilometers long and two kilometers wide, the island boasts beautiful beaches with clear waters and a hilly, forested interior.
Seven kilometers from Pattaya
At just seven kilometers off the coast of Pattaya, Koh Larn is a popular day trip. Beach chairs are for rent at all of its main beaches, restaurants serve seafood as well as Thai and international dishes. Besides swimming, sun bathing and relaxing on the beach, visitors can ride a jet ski or banana boat, go snorkeling or kayaking or take a hiking trip in the islands forested interior.
There are hotels and bungalows at several beaches for those who want to stay longer. The island’s main village is Na Ban, where most of its residents live.
Beaches
Koh Larn’s best beaches are found on the West side of the island.
Samae beach
Samea’s sandy beach is over 500 meters long, the waters are clear. The swimming area is fenced off for the safety of the swimmers. Beach chairs are for rent at 50 to 100 Baht depending on season. About a dozen beach front restaurants and bars serve Thai food, drinks, cocktails, fresh seafood and ice creams.
At the end of the beach is a large building shaped like a ray, its roof covered with solar panels. A few steps from the beach is a resort for those who want to stay overnight.
You can get to Samae beach either by chartered speed boat from Pattaya or by taxi from one of Koh Larn’s two ferry ports, Na Ban pier and Tawaen beach pier.
Tawaen beach
Tawaen’s long sandy beach is Koh Larn’s most popular destination. In high season the beach can get busy. Restaurants serve seafood, Thai and international food. Beach front bars bring cocktails, fruits and ice creams right to your beach chair. Activities include jet ski and banana boat. Visitors have a choice of several resorts to stay overnight.
Get there by chartered speed boat from Pattaya or take the ferry to Tawaen beach pier from Bali Hai pier in Pattaya.
Tien beach
Slightly shorter than Samae and Tawaen, Tien beach boasts a beautiful sandy beach lined with palm trees and great views of Koh Larn island’s forested interior behind it. Although very attractive with its white sand and clear blue waters, Tien is one of the quieter beaches on the island. Several restaurants are right on the beach, accommodation options are limited.
The quickest way to get to Tien beach is by chartered speed boat from Pattaya. Alternatively, take the ferry from Pattaya to one of Koh Larn’s two harbors, Na Ban pier or Tawaen beach pier. From there take a motorbike or taxi to Tien beach. As there is no road to the beach, a short walk is required.

Ko Lan - Island in Thailand:
It is one of the eastern seaboard islands of Thailand. Ko Lan lies 7.5 km from the nearest shore, Pattaya. Ko Lan is the name of the island in the Royal Thai General System of Transcription. It is also known as Koh Larn and Ko Laan.
Ko Lan is the largest of the near islands, off south Pattaya. It is at the southeast end of the Bay of Bangkok, on the east side of the Gulf of Siam. Administratively Ko Lan belongs to the Amphoe Bang Lamung, Chonburi Province.
It is about four kilometres in length and two kilometres in width. It is a hilly island, covered with low tropical forest; its highest point reaches 180 m where there is a Buddhist shrine. The island has two small villages: Ban Ko Lan and Ban Krok Makhan where there are lodgings and restaurants. There are ferries connecting Ko Lan to the mainland.
Most of Ko Lan's beaches are on its west side. Most visited is Tawaen Beach, where there is a small harbor. The length of the beach is lined with small tourist shops and restaurants. Other beaches are Tonglang Beach, Tien Beach, Samae Beach, and Naon Beach. Ko Lan is inhabited by about 3,000 residents in 1,000 households, mostly clustered around the ferry pier.

PATTAYA Islands and Beaches | Ko Lan (Coral Island) | Ko Kham
Pattaya’s Islands offer an idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle of the busy coastal city. Few of them are particularly big and the vast majority are uninhabited, with many of them being ringed with beautiful sandy beaches and clear water. Here, you’ll also find some great spots for snorkelling, diving and fishing. With none of these activities or attractions being widely available on Pattaya Beach, the islands are extremely popular with those seeking seaside relaxation.

KO LAN (Koh Larn) - Coral Island
Coral Island is the largest of the islands which can be reached from Bali Hai Pier and is the only one with a resident population. There are a few small hotels, both in the village around the main pier - Na Ban - and around the larger of the island’s beaches. There are six main beaches: Samae, Tien and Tawaen beaches all have accommodation options while Naul, Tonglang and Tayaiy beaches have at least one restaurant, jet ski hire, banana boat rides and more. While snorkelling is possible and the corals are nice, the large amount of boat traffic means you need to keep your wits about you.
KO KHAM (Koh Khram)
The fact that the large Koh Khram is arguably one of the most beautiful Pattaya islands only makes it a greater pity that it is owned by the Royal Thai Navy and is therefore largely off limits. The boat charter services from Ocean Marina Yacht Club sometimes make a short stop on the pristine beaches, but staying for any longer than an hour is generally impossible. The fact that there is literally nothing on the island makes it a real Robinson Crusoe experience.

Thong Lang Beach on Koh Larn near Pattaya - one of the smaller beaches on the island, which is located in the southern part. Nearby is a famous beach Tawaen, which arrives ferries from Pattaya, which is very crowded at any time of the year. Thong Lang beach less noisy. The water here is clear, and the sand is light and soft. The beach is very suitable for swimming: you do not need to go to a good depth for a long time. Not far from the coast may be a boats, but they do not interfere with swimming. Walkway to the beach carried by Tawaen beach on a new concrete road along the sea.
Also you can read my review of Thong Lang beach on the page:

Tonglang Beach Koh Larn Thailand
This beach is just wonderful. There were lots of pretty girls hanging around. The restaurant is great too, but it is better, if you have a Thai girl who speaks Thai. They do not speak English there and it is difficult to order, unless you bring a Thai girl, which we did;)

TA YAI BEACH - KOH LARN ISLAND | Smallest Beach On Koh Larn Island, Pattaya, Thailand
Ta Yai beach in Koh Larn island is possibly the smallest beach In Koh Larn island, Pattaya, Thailand.
Ta Yai beach is located north of Koh Larn Island and is the smallest beach out of the 5 accessible beaches on Koh Larn Island.
It's a nice small beach, but I wouldn't say there's much to do here in terms of water activities and food wise.
There is only one restaurant there, and it looks like a fancy restaurant also.
There doesn't seem to be much water activities going on here. Just a quiet lay on the beach and splash in the water, type of beach.
The water is still crystal clear and the sand is white.
There are mostly European tourists at this beach compared to all the other beaches on Koh Larn island.
You're better going to the other beaches if you're looking for more activities. Otherwise, if you love to just play in the crystal clear water and lay on the beach chairs. This place is for you.
It cost 40thb to get to this beach from the main pier in Koh Larn Island.
Thank you for watching.
