San Antonio - City Video Guide
San Antonio, in Texas, is close to the Mexican border. Old Spanish missions surround this river settlement. About 28 million people visit San Antonio each year to experience its Latin-style atmosphere. The main attractions are the famous Riverwalk and historically significant Alamo fortress, a symbol of proud defiance.
The old town, with its winding paths and arched bridges, is best explored on foot. Watertaxis, vintage buses and trolleys also shuttle visitors around. San Antonio's constant buzz is best enjoyed in lively hubs such as La Villita and Market Square. Bands often play at riverside amphitheaters and restaurants.
The dwellings in the Institute Of Texan Cultures provide a glimpse of early life in the Southwest. Those keen to see history through the eyes of artists should browse the San Antonio Museum of Art. Find more art in the Witte Museum, in Brackenridge Park, which also has a children's playground. Kids will also love the nearby San Antonio Zoo.
Some of San Antonio's most-visited parks are the Natural Bridge Caverns, Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch, the Botanical Gardens and Japanese Tea Gardens.
The views from the Tower Of The Americas are best when San Antonio's sparkling lights stretch out under the night's sky.

The Museo ng Kasaysayang Panlipunan ng Pilipinas provides a glimpse of Filipino social history in the past and today. It is housed in the mansion built by Mariano Pamintuan and Valentina Torres in 1890 as a wedding gift to their son, Florentino. The mansion has since served various uses:
Headquarters of General Antonio Luna in April 1899;
Seat of the Philippine republic in May 1899;
Site of the first anniversary celebration of the declaration of Philippine independence on 12 June 1899;
Headquarters of General MacArthur in November 1899;
Station occupied by Japanese Kamikaze pilots during the Second World War;
Club house of the United Services Organization, Inc. between 1946 to 1947; and
Hotel in 1949.
The mansion also changed hands. In 1959, the Pamintuan’s sold the mansion to Pedro Tablante, who leased the property to the local government in 1964. The Central Bank of the Philippines acquired the house in 1981 and used it as its regional office from 1993 to 2009. Through a memorandum agreement dated 17 June 2010, the ownership of the mansion was transferred to the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, where it now stands as a museum

Join Tara Contractor (2012 Getty Curatorial Intern and Scripps undergraduate) and Kirk Delman (Williamson Gallery Collections Manager and Registrar) as they install the fascinating exhibition and discuss the significance of the carefully selected objects. Fun Things To Do In San Antonio - River Walk Museum Reach River Taxi
This video of the Museum Reach section of the San Antonio River Walk as shot in June 2019 from one of shuttle boats that takes visitors from from the Pearl District to downtown San Antonio near the Omni La Mansion del Rio hotel.

In 2009, a new River Walk extension was completed and christened as the Museum Reach, a 1.33-mile stretch featuring San Antonio’s world-famous zoo, the Japanese Tea Gardens, Brackenridge Park, the historic, but funky Pearl District, and three very distinguished, but very different, museums – The Witte, The Doseum and The San Antonio Museum of Art.
The Museum Reach is north of downtown, pedestrian-friendly, and a great way to explore and experience a variety of different activities for individuals and families of all ages. Don’t feel like walking? Hail one of our famous river taxis and see the city from an entirely different perspective.

Select speakers introduce the many charms of Gifu Prefecture, including a talk by Graeme Howard and a special presentation on the Japanese diplomat, humanitarian and Gifu native Chiune Sugihara by esteemed scholar Dr. Sylvia W. Smoller. The program will also feature a special demonstration of jikabuki, a regional form of kabuki theater performed in rural parts of Japan, by the Tono Kabuki Nakatsugawa Preservation Society. The talk will be moderated by Susan Miyagi Hamaker. At the tasting reception, sample Gifu delicacies rarely found in the U.S., including premium wagyu Hida beef, which makes its U.S. debut at this event, and a variety of fine sakes brewed with Gifu’s famously pure waters.
