Flight over Merimbula Aquarium & Wharf located on Merimbula Point, this area has spectactular varying types of rock formations eroded by the ocean.

Merimbula is a coastal town in southern New South Wales, Australia. Its beaches include Merimbula Main Beach, with surf breaks over a sandbank, and Short Point, a popular whale-watching spot. Merimbula Boardwalk hugs the shores of Merimbula Lake. Northwest of the centre, Potoroo Palace is a wildlife sanctuary with wombats, echidnas and kangaroos. To the northeast, Bournda National Park has coastal trails.

Potoroo Palace and other fun things to do in Merimbula

FunSearch went on the road looking for fun on the Sapphire Coast – the NSW far south coast – and we found plenty.

Just a few minutes outside Merimbula, Potoroo Palace is a fantastic experience for everyone who goes there. You'll have lots of fun while being very well educated about Australia's unique wildlife. You'll also learn the actions everyone at Potoroo Palace are taking to look after and rehabilitate a whole range of animals including Snakes and Lizards, Owls, Dingoes, Kangaroos and of course - Potoroo's too!

After Potoroo Palace we visited Merimbula's Magic Mountain and it goes without saying that the fun was over the top for all of us (especially from the rollercoaster).

We then hit the sandy 4WD tracks in the isuzu MU-X to a remote beach to enjoy the afternoon.

We love everything about the Sapphire Coast :)

Merimbula holiday day 1 and 2

Merimbula, South Coast, NSW

Our second time around for Team Mamburao for a weekend road trip to Merimbula and Tathra, a coastal town in southern New South Wales, Australia last 2nd-3rd March, 2019. It's an amazing destination, beautiful natures and parks and lovely beaches around the coast.

We're just an ordinary family that loves to travel even for a day or two just to get a life from working hard on our weekdays. Our family's motto is Work, Save, Travel and Repeat. Every travel we had we make sure we had videos and photos to share when the kids grown ups and the most important one is to have fun and enjoying while making memories that will keeps and last a lifetime.

Merimbula: A Paradise Escape

Located on the beautiful Sapphire Coast, tiny Merimbula offers some gorgeous beaches, amazing wildlife, and fun escapes. I spent Christmas in this lovely gem of New South Wales. After a long trip, we were treated by a gorgeous beach. We got to swim in the Mumbula falls, pet the kangaroos, check out the sea life and bake in the sunshine.
