Timetravels organizes weekly tours to Northern Lapland from Helsinki
Husky Safari Lapland | Husky Safari Saariselka | FINLAND
Lapland is Finland’s northernmost region, a sparsely populated area bordering Sweden, Norway, Russia and the Baltic Sea. It’s known for its vast subarctic wilderness, ski resorts and natural phenomena including the midnight sun and the Northern Lights.
Capital Rovaniemi is the gateway to the region. The homeland of the indigenous Sami people, which extends into neighboring countries, centers on the far north.

Aurora Tobogganing™ Saariselkä
Experience the magic of polar night and toboggan down the longest toboggan slope in Finland! The guided activity starts with a chair lift ride to the top of fell Kaunispää, from where Saariselkä’s city lights open in front of your eyes as a sea of sparkling lights. The toboggan slope is now illuminated with light art, just follow the aurora lights that guide you back down to the valley.

Finland & Lapland Winter Vacation - Husky Safari, Northern Lights, Icebreaker (4K Drone, Yi4K+)
Highlights from our incredible two week vacation in Lapland, and south of Finland. In this video watch us explore the in Helsinki, and Suomenlinna. Head to Kemi, and jump onto the Sampo Icebreaker for a swim in the frozen Gulf of Bothnia. Explore the touristy side of Rovaniemi, and even go for our little ice-fishing expedition. Of course, the highlight of the trip was spending time with the huskies in Ivalo. And not to mention the Northern Lights that we saw dazzle the night sky in Ivalo and Inari (sorry for the potato quality video on the Northern Lights). Follow us to Saariselka where there was so much snow, that it literally felt that we were in a black & white film.
And of course, on our last day, we stopped by the incredible medieval town of Porvoo.
This was definitely an experience of a lifetime! Spending two weeks in Finland during the polar winter (December and January) isn't for everyone. But if you're willing to handle temperatures of up to -30 degrees Celsius, boy do you have a lot to see!
From reindeers, to huskies. Northern lights, icebreaker cruises, swimming in the frozen sea and jumping into a frozen lake after a Finnish smoke sauna. And then there was all the touristy stuff in between, from Santa Claus Village to SantaPark. New year fireworks in Rovaniemi! The list is simply endless!
Hope you enjoy this video, as much as I enjoyed making it. Swing by my website if you need help planning your vacation to Finland and Lapland.

Lapland Trip to Saariselkä - Christmas 2014
We went on a trip to Saariselkä (Finnish Lapland) over Christmas 2014. The footage is partly in a really bad quality as we had only 3 days of sunlight each day, so it was mostly dark outside. We had around -30 degrees each day and a lot of fun! We booked the tour via the Time Travels Agency and enjoyed a Husky Safari, Snowmobile Safari, Reindeer Safari, Trip to and Swim in the Arctic Ocean (in Norway), had a BBQ with Saami people, met Santa Claus, went to a WildLife Park, saw the Northern Lights and much more!
Saariselkä Finland Snowmobile Safari
Second day in Saariselkä, we chose to book in with Husky & Co for the 4 hour safari. At first I was a little apprehensive that the trip could be too long but in actual fact it was perfect.
I would recommend going for the earlier trip as the sun rising over the Forrest is just beautiful. You can see the photos I got and how the light changes the colour of the sky on my Instagram @Theworldswisestman.
As we were staying at Saariselkä Inn we got 10% with Husky & Co which seemed sensible we booked with them. When we did the Husky Safari which you will be able to find on my other videos it was evident that safari companies went to the same places and used the same equipment etc.
This is honestly one of the most beautiful places I have had the chance to visit. I didn’t think I would enjoy a winter holiday as much as I have done. We flew out on the 27th December and are set to come back on the 3rd January 2019.
Any questions please ask. All footage was shot simple on a DJI Osmo Mobile with my IPhone XS Max.

Hope you enjoy & HAPPY NEW YEAR ????????????????

Lapland trip, Saariselkä organised by Timetravels
This trip was organised by Timetravels.
Our adventure to Northern Lapland, Saariselkä began on 18 November 2019. We traveled from Halmstad to Helsinki by ferry and continued our trip by bus to Saariselkä. Before arriving at our destination, we stopped at the Santa Claus Village. We could have the change to meet Santa Claus, elves and reindeers. This place is full of magic and Christmas spirit. We arrived after 3 days of exhausting traveling at our destination. The first day consisted of a Husky safari, snowmobile safari and an aurora hunt by bus. A husky safari should be a must-do point on your bucket list. Alaskan huskies are cheerful and strong dogs who really love to pull the sled. The snowmobile safari was also one of my top must-do things while in Lapland. Locals use the snowmobiles anywhere from going to a grocery store to paying a visit to a friend who lives behind the hill. Our route took us to hidden places out in the wilderness, surrounded by beautiful landscapes. We ended our day with an aurora hunt. The Northern lights or an
aurora borealis is an amazing show put on by our mother nature. The second day was a cross-country ski, arctic sauna and snowshoe adventure. Our third and last day was an Arctic Ocean Tour. This trip was from early in the morning until late evening. We stopped in Näätämö village where we could feed the reindeers and buy famous pork ribs from the store. Our journey continued towards the fjords and ended up to a small, picturesque village of Bugoynes in Northern Norway. The village is located at the edge of the world. We could swim in the Arctic Ocean and walk on sandy beaches.
With all the memories and experience we’ve made, it was time to say goodbye. We left Lapland with a satisfied feeling.

Seeing the Northern Lights in Lapland - Finland
We stayed at the magical Northern Lights Ranch in Lapland, Finland.
It was one of the most unique experiences of our lives and we were lucky enough to see the aurora borealis.
The Northern Lights Ranch is a 30 minute ride from Kittila airport and one of the most unique hotels we have ever stayed in.

Trip to Lapland, Finland
We took a trip to Lapland (northern Finland) and here is most of everything that we did on the trip! People on the trip included my wife Laura, my immediate family, my mom's parents, my mom's sister's family, and the Dow family (whom we know from our time living in Colorado Springs). A huge thank you also to Tapani Kauppinen and his son's for hosting us.

Lapland trip 2013 - Saariselkä
N.B. The picture is a bit mushy at the start so just bear with it (Mum, I'm talking to you) - I filmed the first 30+seconds of this on my camera phone before I realised it had a video light. The rest is filmed either on my DSLR or the camera phone with the video light on. Watch it in HD (Mum, you click the little settings icon at the bottom that looks like a gear and click on 1080 HD).
Anyway... Our trip to the Arctic, where there are only 4 hours of daylight in December! This was literally the best holiday we've ever had. We booked it through Santa's Lapland and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of giving it a go.
