Located in the county of Nottinghamshire; however, it maintains its position and worldwide fame thanks to the main university in the city: The University of Nottingham, rated as one of the 75 best in the world. A few years ago I was fortunate to study at the university and spend time there. During my days in Nottingham I enjoyed unforgettable moments and made friends for life. Now I want to share with you my favorite spots in town.

From Wednesday 27th March until Sunday 31st March, Market Place Europe is in the Old Market Square and Long Row in Nottingham City Centre bringing a huge selection of traders from across the world for a wonderful 5-day event.
There is a great selection of arts, crafts and unique gifts. Shoppers can explore a unique range of jewellery, clothing, Fair Trade wooden carvings and handmade ceramics. Not forgetting the gigantic Dutch Flowers on Tour with a range of bulbs, flowers, plants and garden furniture, all transported from Holland. Don’t forget that it’s Mother’s Day on Sunday 31st March so if you’re looking for that special gift why not have a look around at all the International Market has to offer.
For food lovers, there is a tempting selection of continental and international flavours to sample. On offer is Spanish, Greek, Chinese and Jamaican street foods to name but a few. And for those wanting to take the flavours of the world home with them there will be a great selection of fresh foods including olives, cheeses, breads and cakes.

Pegasus Club Nottingham. Carsington Pasture Cave filmed in 1998 & 1999
This video combines my 1998 & 1999 recordings of the exploration and excavation of Carsington pasture Cave by members of Pegasus Club Nottingham following the discovery of human remains. It shows the removal of cave infill in conjunction with the county archaeologist. It then shows the subsequent cleaning & identification and finally a presentation to the public at the local village hall.
It was recorded using basic 8mm camcorder equipment mounted in a weatherproof sports housing and powerful battery driven adapted halogen car spot lighting.
The clubs involvement and the story of the history of the cave were later featured in an episode of Time Team, and After much excavation from the Pegasus caving club and time team, this cave has revealed a wealth of finds from Neolithic to Roman. No back fill in entrance now but is gated off, access is through Pegasus and the top shaft, archaeological dig ongoing (2013), finds suggest inhabitation, split bones with burning evidence and possible bone working. Ceremonial activities also strongly probable!

Fishing for GIANT CATFISH - New UK PB!
I head off Fishing with my Dad to try and catch the Giant Catfish that lurk in a tiny pond here in the UK. The Wels catfish can grow to monster sizes in parts of Europe. The River Monsters are usually found on the famous river Ebro in Spain as well as various rivers in Italy and other countries in Europe. But in the UK, they are found in various still water ponds and lakes. Pond Fishing is really popular in the UK, so I head out with Dad for a day fishing. We show you the rigs and gear that we use to catch catfish. They can be caught on both bait and lures. Learning how to catch catfish is not complicated. Dad even uses some Bushcraft to put a rig together! Hope you guys enjoy the vid and thanks for joining us on the adventure! - Mike
