WELCOME TO CASA, THE HOME OF BEAUTIFUL FURNITURE

Situated next to the quay in the historic town of Topsham, near Exeter, it is a fabulous location to browse our new range of luxurious sofas, furniture and beds.

Our building is historically important as part of Devon’s diverse heritage, where the foundations date back to the period of the Roman occupation of Britain. In the 18th century, the building was used as a Napoleonic Gaol.

The approach to the shop is now a road, but many years ago was a river and prisoners were loaded straight onto boats from the building headed for Australia.

CASA is part of Queenstreet Carpets and Furnishings. We are a well-established local family-run retailer, which has been trading in Exeter for nearly 50 years from our large showrooms in Alphington.

We are now moving into an exciting new era and expanding the business with the opening of this second shop.

New brands include stunning sofas from Collins & Hayes; bespoke sofas from ROM; sumptuous beds from Hypnos and Naked Beds; as well as solid oak and ash furniture from suppliers around the world.

The Story of Exeter Cathedral

The story of Exeter Cathedral dates back to 1050 and is over 900 years old.
The cathedral is the only example in Europe of a decorated Gothic building almost in its entirety apart from the two northern towers.
It also boasts the longest, unbroken stretch of Gothic stone vaulting in the world.
Amongst the cathedral's many treasures are the Bishop's Throne, one of the finest examples of woodwork from the 14th Century, an antique clock made in 1376, and the East Window featuring original glass.
Exeter Cathedral has the longest uninterrupted medieval vaulted ceiling in the world, at about 96 m (315 ft)
During the Second World War, Exeter was one of the targets of a German air offensive against British cities of cultural and historical importance and on 4 May 1942 an early-morning air raid on the chapel of St James in this cathedral by a large high-explosive bomb completely demolished it. It has been reconstructed and restored

My wife Vanaja and I visited Exeter Cathedral, in the city of Exeter, Devon, in South West England on 22 May 2018(A day before our 41st wedding anniversary) and got emotive seeing the structures and stones in memory of the people and their church stories and got into tears while praying privately.
