Oh Hello Trailer - Torch Theatre Company
Charles Hawtrey was one of the leading lights of the Carry On film franchise.
Bubbly, energetic and extremely funny Hawtrey was one of the best known comedy actors of the 40s, 50s and 60s but as his career waned so his behaviour became more drunken, promiscuous and eccentric losing him many friends in an age when male homosexuality in Britain was illegal and punishable by a prison sentence.
See him in this one-man show as he regales stories of 50 years in the film industry working with the likes of Alfred Hitchcock and starring in films including The Ghost of St Michael’s, Passport to Pimlico and a total of 21 Carry Ons. Hear of his hilarious run-ins with Kenneth Williams and his disdain of the Carry On producers as well as a complex relationship with his senile mother.
Oh Hello! first opened at the Torch Theatre, Milford Haven in November 2014, receiving a standing ovation at every performance. It has since gone on to perform at venues across Wales Cardiff and Assembly Hall, Edinburgh at the 2015 Fringe Festival. Written by Dave Ainsworth, directed by Peter Doran and performed by Jamie Rees the show has sold out every one of its performances so far, receiving four and five star reviews along the way and a prestigious Laurel Award at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe.
“Dave Ainsworth’s hit fringe tribute… Jamie Rees‘ finely tuned, sensitive performance…”
– Daily Mail
‘Incredibly skillful performance from Jamie Rees’.
– Sunday Express
“By turns bitchy, vulnerable and lonely, Rees’ Hawtrey rants with an ever present drink in hand… Sold out for the rest of its run, Carry On queueing for returns…”
– The Scotsman
“A tour-de-force performance by Jamie Rees captures the complex eccentricities of a comedy hero in this affectionate one-man portrait of Carry On star Charles Hawtrey.”
– Chortle

Grav Trailer - Welsh Tour 2016
Torch Theatre Production 'Grav' Tour 2016
In October 2007 Ray Gravell, a man who for many embodied what it is to be Welsh, passed away after succumbing to complications resulting from contracting diabetes. He was 56 years old.
Known to millions for his legendary exploits on the rugby field, ‘Grav’ was and is so much more than that. An actor, a cultural icon, a father, a husband, a man with a life packed full of stories that deserve to be heard once more.
The Torch Theatre Company presents Gareth Bale as ‘Grav’ in a play written by Owen Thomas that celebrates the man and the legend. With the blessing of Mari, Ray’s widow, and contributions from his Welsh and British Lions team mates, this one man show will explore the life of a man who was as fascinating away from the rugby field as he was on it.
Directed by the Torch Theatre’s Artistic Director Peter Doran, ‘Grav’ will remind the world once more of a unique life well lived and of a man who did so much more than eat soft centres.
This production is directed by Peter Doran, written by Owen Thomas and performed by Gareth Bale.
Following the performances at the Torch Theatre Tues 9 - Sat 13 Feb 'Grav' will go on a 18 date tour of Wales in 2016.

Who's Afraid of Rachel Roberts? Trailer
HELEN GRIFFIN'S one-woman show -- Who's Afraid of Rachel Roberts? -- will be shown at the Assembly Roxy at the Edinburgh Festival this summer from 1 -26 August 3.00pm.
Commissioned by Milford Haven's Torch Theatre, the play tells the story of Welsh actress Rachel Roberts.
With a chapel upbringing and award-winning roles in the original kitchen-sink dramas, Saturday Night and Sunday Morning and This Sporting Life, Roberts was known for her fervour and passion. Then marriage to Rex Harrison allowed her to live the Hollywood dream. But she sank to the depths of despair, seeking solace in alcohol.
Griffin, who co-wrote the drama with Dave Ainsworth, was shortlisted for the Best Actress Award in the inaugural Theatre Critics of Wales Awards for the role.
Rachel Roberts was one of our Welsh greats, who had a fascinating and shocking life, says Griffin, who is from Swansea.
You don't have to know who she was to enjoy the show. The themes in her life and in our play -- an obsession with celebrity, an addiction to alcohol, an inability to let go of a lost love -- are eternal and perhaps more relevant than ever today.
Who's Afraid Of Rachel Roberts? is directed by Peter Doran and can be seen at the Assembly Roxy in Edinburgh from 1- 26 August 3.00pm. Suitable for ages 16+
