S02E11 Life-in-RV | Japan VLOG 3 | Toro Ruins Shizuoka, Japan
Only 10-15 minute bus ride from Shizuoka JR Station is the Toro Ruins. The remains date all the way back to the first Century. The site was found iin 1943 during WWII on a military construction. There was 12 housing and 2 storehouses with elevated floors on the site. Each housing held one family of around five members. in 1953 Toro Ruins was designated as a National Special Historic Site.
I stared recording with a GoPro and later switched to my cell phone.

Shizuoka - Talking Japanese History&Sightseeing with Mully&Tomoko
Recently went to Shizuoka and met up with some youtubers who live there - Mully and Tomoko of Warmoth Strat. Over some excellent lasagna in Yoshida we talked about the Shizuoka area - the history, sighting seeing places, and Mully's run-in with a psychopathic park attendant.
In this video I talk about the Yayoi Period (300BC-300AD), Shizuoka's past as a Kyoto clone under the Imagawa, and Tokugawa Ieyasu's favorite place where he grew up and later retired.

Real Gundam in Tokyo
- In my first full day in Tokyo I went an event called Tokyo Green where one would be able to see this giant Robot. When I get there I find out they are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Gundam from Japanimation fame. I understand the official name for this version of Gundam was called Real G. For my first day in Japan it was a sign of great things to come for my first trip to Asia. Incredible travel experience!!! The people of Japan are awesome, you are lucky.
This is for the anime fans around the world. Would have been really cool if they threw in a life size Mazinger as well...either way it was a nice experience for this latino from El Barrio, NYC.

Japanese Garden (Chinese: 星和园), also commonly known as Jurong Gardens and Seiwaen, is a park located in Jurong East, Singapore. Built in 1974 by JTC Corporation, it covers 13.5 hectares (135,000 m2) of land.
It is built on an artificial island in the Jurong Lake area connected to the adjacent Chinese Garden island by bridge named the Bridge of Double Beauty.
Layout & Design
A stone Toro lantern
Where the Chinese Garden is designed to be visually exciting, the Japanese Gardens are designed with a calmness to evoke inner peace and a meditative state. The styles and methods used for designing the garden are taken from Japan's Muromachi period of 1392 to 1568 and the Azuchi–Momoyama period of 1568 to 1615.

With its traditional arched bridges, 10 odd Tōrō stone lanterns, traditional house and rest house, ponds and gravel chipped pavings it faithfully recreates the traditional Japanese style.
Interests
On the grounds is also a Turtle & Tortoise Museum as well as one of 10 sundials placed around Singapore to promote the interest in science. The one in the Japanese Garden represents the planet Venus (while the one in the Chinese Garden is for 'Earth'). Large monitor lizards can be seen roaming in the area of the koi filled ponds.
