PLACES MENTIONED:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Poutini's House of Poutine
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The Works is great though there are over 9 different types of poutine available
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Kensington Market
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
A very diverse area with a ton of food options. Big on street art, vintage stores and street food places. Jumbo Empanadas is meant to be great. So is Seven Lives for fish tacos.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Tim Horton's
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
There seemed to be a Tim Horton's in every corner! I went for a timbit (original glazed) with a signature black coffee. Great as an afternoon pick me up!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Bar Hop
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Great selection of craft beers and whiskey. I went for the Old Fashioned (lovely) and the Tokyo Rose Saison beer. Though the sour ale was mega mega sour, it was still very good! They also serve food too.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Cacao 70
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
If you love hot chocolate or chocolate in general, give this place a go. Though they offer a brunch menu, everybody seemed to go for the desserts, chocolate fondues and/or hot chocolate. I went for the Lazy Breakfast and there was a LOT of meat - particularly ham. They went ham for ham. har har har. Kinda wish I had more chocolate things instead, d'oh.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Distillery District
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
We didn't explore too much of the area but it seemed to be a great place for restaurants, bars and boutique shops. Can imagine it's extra magical at night and when the Christmas lights are up
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Dumpling House
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Standard dumplings offered boiled or fried. There's a lot of different types to choose from and the prices were reasonable. It isn't mind-blowing but it tastes like the kind of dumplings you grew up having at home. Comforting, nostalgic and a great option for when it's super cold outside. Next time, I want to try the fried option! I'd recommend the pork and chive over the ones we had.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Juicy Dumpling
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I was a BIG fan of Juicy Dumpling considering how great value it is. They also offer the soup dumplings fried but I zoned in on the pork and crab and pork steamed ones instead. There are also lots of different types of dumplings and dishes available but hundy p, get yourself the crab and pork soup ones. Worth the extra few dollars! I wish there was a slurp-and-go soup dumpling place like this in London.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Ward's Island/Toronto Islands
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Not a food spot but my favourite spot in Toronto. It's only a short ferry ride away (15 mins) and it felt like we had escaped to another world. Almost like Animal Crossing. Warmed my soul particularly with the beautiful coloured golden and red trees that decorated each house! I loved it, I loved it, I loved it!!!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Rudy
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
My favourite burger of the entire trip. A messy one but one worth licking your fingers for. We went for the double bacon cheeseburger with fries.

Breakfast at Forno Cultura - Toronto Food Adventure VLOG
Hey everyone! Here's a fun little video that I filmed on another snowy day in Toronto. A while ago, Pranav and I came across an underground bakery called Forno Cultura. I call it underground because you open the door, take a few steps down and there it is, in all its delicious, buttery, Italian glory. On our first visit we picked up a loaf of bread with carbon baked into it - Filoncini Nero di Seppia. Not only was it beautiful to look at, but the flavour and texture were both so unique. We knew we had to go back, and so we did just one short week later. Pranav chose the savouries, I chose the espressos and panettone. As if that weren't enough, we took home an olive focaccia. If you live in Toronto, or are passing through this is a must try!

5 FOODS TO TRY IN CANADA + CANADIANS SAYING SORRY | Eileen Aldis
While we're home in the land of the true north strong and free, Marc and I really wanted to fill up on all the delicious Canadian foods you can find here. We were at home one morning trying to decide what to have when I realized we didn't have to decide...we could eat them ALL! We wanted to make a video about it to introduce you to five foods to try in Canada. The first food we went for is poutine. This was created in rural Quebec in the 1950s and has spread far and wide because it's simply delicious. There are many variations now, but the authentic original is French fries loaded with gravy and cheese curds. Not just any cheese, cheese CURDS. We went to a Canadian chain called Smoke's Poutinerie and the guy who served us was super awesome. He even gave us a free t-shirt - so nice! After that we indulged our sweet tooth with Nanaimo bars - a childhood favourite of mine. Hailing from - you guessed it - Nanaimo, British Columbia on the west coast of Canada, these bars are made with three layers: coconut and chocolate, custard, and chocolate. We found a spot to eat them surrounded by enthusiastic Canada Geese, which seemed very appropriate. Next on our Canada hit list was butter tarts. These originated in the prairies during pioneer times. They're individually-sized desserts: a flaky pastry and sweet filling. Sometimes you'll find raisins or nuts in there as well. Needing a break from all the sweets, Marc and I grabbed two bags of our favourite Canadian chips: ketchup for me and dill pickle for him. The story goes that ketchup chips were invented by Hostess Potato chips in the 1970s but marketed exclusively in Canada. They were a huge hit and have been on shelves here ever since. Dill pickle is uniquely Canadian. When we lived in Australia and I went home to visit Canada, they were the one thing Marc asked me to bring him back. To end off a day of debauchery, we had Tiger Tail ice cream at a local spot in my hometown of London, Ontario. This is really popular amongst Canadian kids (and big kids like us). It's orange ice cream with black liquorice swirls. There are lots more Canadian foods we love so maybe we'll do another video like this on another trip home to Canada. We hope you enjoyed this vlog - please give it a thumbs up if you'd like to see more food videos!

Shake Shack Lineup - Momofuku Daisho in Toronto, Canada
Yesterday, Shake Shack hosted its very first pop-up style burger joint at Momofuku Daisho in downtown Toronto. The lineup backed up from the Momofuku entrance until it backed onto Richmond Street, then turned back around and went all the way to Adelaide Street, then wrapped around the corner once more! It must've been one amazing burger!
