They are mainly green and have a reddish forehead and pale blue lower back, rump and upper tail feathers. Tail is brownish red tipped with very pale blue. The bare facial skin is patterned with lines of small dark feathers, which are reddish in older and female parrots.[4]
Status
The parrot is endangered, and has been one of the key elements in the proposal for the formation of a new National Park in Costa Rica.
This beautiful macaw was spotted eating on a wild almond tree during an afternoon canoe tour. Enjoy!

La Bahia Samara Costa Rica
When we discovered the cabinas we reserved online had sprayed our room with insecticide just before our arrival we decided to relocate. While strolling down the beach towards playa Carillo we stumbled upon the Bahia;..beachfront cabinas that were not only less expensive, but the only odor we could smell in our room was the delicious aromas wafting from across the courtyard.
