Witness all the beauty of the coral reef, sponges, fish, turtles, eels, and creatures.
Bonaire is the world's best example of protecting reefs and fish through a long history of marine preservation, beginning with turtle protection in 1961, prohibition of spear fishing in 1971 and protection of coral, dead or alive, in 1975. In 1978 & 1980, the park instituted a permanent mooring system, first in the world, for boats to moor instead of dropping anchors. You can't even touch the sand bottom or steady yourself holding onto a rock underwater to take close up pictures and video.
Check out how living the ocean and reef is. Count all the fish, big and small, you see in every frame. Watch turtles and moray eels hunting while free swimming the wall. There is no damaged coral, truly pristine, schools of fish, and sea life that totally ignores the SCUBA divers. There is absolutely no ocean pollution. Marine conservation makes a huge difference. Save the ocean and save the planet.
Enjoy!

Caribbean | Lesser Antilles | Bonaire (Divers Paradise)
Second port of call during the Southern Caribbean cruise aboard Carnival Glory; the shop docked in Kralendijk, which was alot quiter than the previous port in Aruba. Bonaire has a different feel to it as the island is much smaller.
Consequently the town of Kralendijk did not really have much to offer and seemed to cater more for cruise ships that dock by way of the shops that were available.
I think if anyone visits Bonaire, its not for the above surface scenery- its for the underwater variety; even so the islands license plates have Diver's Paradise stamped on them. Also most of the excursions available on the ship are under water based.
Underwater, Bonaire does not disappoint, while we were in port we took part in a Carnival excursion which was a snorkel trip to the protected reefs that lie just off the shore of Klein Bonaire, which is a short distance across the water from Kralendijk.
For snokeling I was impressed at the amount of fish and coral, since most snorkel excursions I've been on in the past normally take you to places with a few fish (lured by artificial feeding) and dead coral.
The trip aboard the Sea Cow was a complete contrast to the usual excursion fare, as the reefs off Klein Bonaire are very much alive and well. The tour exercises a strict 'No touch' policy when it comes to the coral and does not feed the fish. The excursion also had an underwater photographer on board who took excellent photographs of the fish and coral. The images are full resolution and are available to purchase seperately for $20 at the time.
On that subject I am definetely glad I purchased the photo CD as I would discover later in the holiday that I had misplaced my microSD card from my GoPro- thereby loosing my underwater video footage of the event, and in particular some good close-up footage of a sea turtle (I was very annoyed about the loss!). Fortunately the photo CD made up for the loss- and that is why there is a photo slide show in this video. Enjoy and thanks for watching!

Meet the Sea Turtle in Caribbean Sea Scuba Diving with Sea Turtle in Cozumel
Sea turtles sometimes called marine turtles, are reptiles of the order Testudines. The seven extant species of sea turtles are: the green, loggerhead, Kemp's ridley, olive ridley, hawksbill, flatback, and leatherback.
The Caribbean Sea is one of the most beautiful bodies of water in the world, home to warm turquoise waters, colorful coral and an amazing array of flora and fauna. One of the most majestic creatures inhabiting these waters is the exquisite sea turtle, and connecting with them through swimming or preservation is often a highlight of trips to the region. Our experts in the Caribbean have provided us with valuable information on the best ways and places to interact with these magical animals, all the while respecting them and their natural habitats, most importantly.
Turtles have actually existed for more than 200 million years, dating back to the era of the dinosaur. As their flippers made them natural swimmers, they evolved into a cross between amphibian and reptile. While this helped them endure the ice age, today many varieties, including various types of sea turtles, are endangered and risk extinction. This is mainly due to the actions of humans either directly on their habitats or stemming from larger environmental issues like climate change. Therefore, it is important to follow these general guidelines when swimming or interacting with sea turtles:
Do not touch nor feed them
Keep a few feet away from them whether you’re in the water or on land
Do not swim close to them (nor the reefs), as this can cause great stress
Do not damage or destroy the vegetation, and remember that shoreline vegetation is essential for preventing beach erosion and stabilizing dunes
Do not anchor in coral or sea grass beds, but use moorings where provided or select sandy areas
Do not purchase any turtle mean or jewelry and other adornments using their shells
Please be kind, gentle and respectful
There are several local and international associations which promote the well-being and preservation of sea turtles. Some of these are listed below or there a lot of valuable information can also be found on website seaturtles.org.
With these rules in mind, it’s time to sport your mask and snorkel and start exploring on one of these exceptional beaches, cays and islands below.
Six of the seven species are found in US waters, and the flatback turtle is only found in the Western Indo-Pacific. Most of their lives are spent at sea, with some species diving to depths of 3000 feet (900 meters). They return to the shore to lay eggs, often making long journeys to go to specific beaches year after year.
Their wide-reaching movement and the small amount of time they spend on land means that it is hard to measure just how many sea turtles remain, or how many there used to be. (One estimate is that millions of green sea turtles were in the Caribbean at the time of Christopher Columbus.) Now all six of the species found in US waters are listed as endangered under the Endangered Species Act, and those six are also found on the IUCN Red List where their listings range from Vulnerable to Critically Endangered. They have many human-induced threats including entanglement in fishing gear, marine debris, coastal habitat destruction, poaching of adults and eggs, and climate change.

MUSIC
A sea turtle with me in an area full of life. Behind this picture is a message that I want to share with everyone.
As you can see, the sea turtle misses one leg, and the tail. This is not the only sea turtle that I have seen in my life. And unfortunately not the only one with a problem. Last year I came across a sea turtle with a sharp metal object in the fin. I ask everyone to deal well with the world. We humans are also part of nature so live together with nature. Do not only blame others. Start with the person in the mirror.
Here some tips that can help a lot - do not throw plastic in the sea or beaches or other public places
- hide harmfull objects or substances from nature - in short (summary) just live like you are supposed to live according to the rules of nature.
For all people who are now saying that the leg and tail may have been destroyed by an animal other than humans. The chances are small that that is the case, because there are no animals except humans that harm other animals for fun. All animals except humans only harm other animals when they have to eat and when they eat they kill and eat the whole animal not just a part of it. And suppose it is by an animal other than humans than I always have the example of that sea turtle with the metal object: no animal on earth except humans makes metal objects. No animals except humans make objects that can harm other animals. No animals except humans make objects that can harm animals without purpose.
Ohw and if you see a sea turtle. DON'T TOUCH
Have a nice day ????????????
