Armacao dos Buzios, Brazil and one of the best places in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After a few days in Arraial do Cabo, Rio de Janeiro and Cabo Frio, Brazil, I ended my time on this peninsula checking out the town called Armacao dos Buzios or simply Buzios. One of the trendiest places in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Buzios is a small town wrapped in water and jungle. The center of Armacao dos Buzios, Rio de Janeiro is a cobblestone street lined with cool shops and hip restaurants. Even the subway in Buzios is elegant!

Armacao dos Buzios is one of my favourites places in Brazil and definitely one of my favourite places in Rio de Janeiro. I highly recommend visiting Buzios, Rio de Janeiro, as there are many things to do here. This is one of the best places to travel in Brazil and especially Rio de Janeiro.

In this video we spend a week in Buzios in a beautiful house and we head to a new years party by Privilège. Armacao dos Buzios (or Buzios) is a Brazilian resort set on an ocean peninsula east of Rio de Janeiro. It's known as an upscale vacation destination with numerous beaches. These include Horseshoe, on a calm horseshoe bay with water sports, and Geribá, a popular surfing site. Among its village streets, cobbled Rua das Pedras is a center of dining and nightlife.

► Buzios: The official name of the city is 'Armação dos Búzios', but everyone just refers to it as 'Búzios'. This is a beach community in the state of Rio de Janeiro, and a popular getaway for Brazilians and Argentinians. Basically an unknown fishing village until the 1960s, it was made famous by French actress Brigitte Bardot.
► Rua das Pedras: Translating, the name means stones' street, and that's exactly what you'll see. More than that, it's Buzios' main street, with an active nightlife and a nice variety of shopping and restaurants.
► Orla Bardot: Named after Brigitte Bardot, this is the strip of land that connects Praia da Armação with Rua das Pedras, the main street in town. Brigitte Bardot is also honored along the oceanfront path with a bronze statue.
► Praia da Armação: This beach is located downtown, next to Rua das Pedras and in front of Orla Bardot. To this date, it is still full of fishing boats. Their old houses have been restored and are now lovely restaurants and pousadas. From this beach, you can get the boat tours to the various other beaches in Buzios.

Private Boat Party in Buzios, Brazil
Hi Guys,
We rented a private boat with 14 of our closest brazilian friends. We went out for the day and visit 3 of the 23 beaches in Buzios. The cost was only $100 Brazilian dollars per person. We brought our own beer and snacks.
We highly recommend doing a boat tour in Buzios, there are quite a few different companies that offer group tours at an affordable price.
Buzios is located in the state of RIO and can be accessed easily by bus or plane. If you are flying t Buzios, the closest airport is Cabo Frio it is 45 minutes away from Buzios.
The weather in Buzios is usually great, it is common to have thunder showers here and there and often the town is windy. If you plan on going there for a week, you will have more nice days than bad.

Buzios is a magical place filled with stunning beaches. Brigitte Bardot made this place famous and at the praia de azedinha she even used to go to tan topless. After that history was made and Buzios quickly turned into a jetset hotspot for celebs and travellers.
After I spotted in on the novela 'Celebridade' and 'Viver a Vida' my interested was sparked and this week I finally made it there. Our day was memorable (even though very short) and I fell in love with this place. Next time I'll stay for a weekend.

India to Brazil ????️ Buzios - Local Weekend Getaway near Rio De Janeiro
For my 5 week long stay in Brazil this year, i kept Rio De Janeiro as my base and explored parts of north east Brazil and also a nearby beach town called Buzios, which i did as a quick weekend getaway by bus.
I didn't book the ticket online, so i just landed at the Rodaviario - the bus station in Rio and got it last minute.
Just after i boarded the bus, i finalized my Airbnb stay and even got a quick confirmation from the owner. It seemed conveniently located, just 20 minutes of walking to almost each of the popular beaches (or 6-7 minutes by Uber).
After reaching Buzios, i just took an Uber from the bus stop to the pousada and instantly fell in love with the place. Let me pause talking here, just so you know WHY...
Oh, they even had a fabulous beach view... from... the poolside!
Now, while i chose mostly walking, there are 3 more ways to get around Buzios. One as i mentioned - Uber, second by renting a 4x4 or you could hop from beach to beach in public or private boats. If you plan to do that, it would be best to stay in the Centro region where most people prefer staying.
Back to my exploration of Buzios on foot, my first stop was Praia Forno followed by Praia Brava.
Forno was a peaceful red sand beach, while Brava had a few resorts along its shore.
I liked them both, but i wanted to do a quick recce of everything i could on Day 1. So i headed next to Joao Fernandes beach. This one seemed much bigger and nicer and had a lot of beach shacks to chill at, so i grabbed a refreshing caipirinha here and soaked in some sun with these beautiful views!
If there's one thing i love more than beaches though, it is hiking up to viewpoints for a bird's eye view for a poor man's drone view - so that's what i did next - and wow, did it deliver or what!
Next up were the twin beaches of Azeda & Azedinha.
These seemed to have a chill and fun vibe too, and i grabbed another caipirinha here before moving on to Azedinha to check out its natural pool formation, literally around the corner from Azeda.

** Time for some quick trivia! **
Brigitte Bardot and her Brazilian beau are fondly credited for the influx of tourism in Buzios - so they have a fitting tribute in the town which makes for a photo-op when you're here.
It was now time for some food, so i headed to the cobblestoned walking steet in Centro, which is foodie and shopping heaven. Do NOT miss eating at Chez Michou here, which served up some heavenly crepes! I tried their chicken curry and had a fun chat with the staff explaining what bhagwaan ke liye meant in Portuguese!
Dessert was my favorite food in the whole world - acai (which is basically frozen berry pulp), and i found this amazing place which served it in different forms, just a little ahead of Chez Michou.
Finally, it was time to call it a day, and based on my Airbnb host's recommendation, i went to experience the sunset at Porto Da Barra. She was right. It was definitely worth it!
