HOW TO GET TO BOWEN ISLAND FROM VANCOUVER
The easiest way to get to Bowen Island from mainland Vancouver is to catch bus 250 from Downtown to Horseshoe Bay. From here purchase a ticket from the ferry terminal and take a scenic 20 min boat journey; finally arriving at Bowen Island.
Horseshoe and Bowen Island are both great stops, so make sure to leave ample time for both, not forgetting to venture out on a quick hike / kayaking excursion whilst on on the island itself.
We hope that this video was useful for those already in Vancouver and maybe gave some inspiration for future travellers.

Bowen Island, British Columbia, is an island municipality that is part of Metro Vancouver. In addition, Bowen Island is within the jurisdiction of the Islands Trust. Located in Howe Sound, Bowen Island is approximately 6 km wide by 12 km long, with the island at its closest point about 3 km west of the mainland.

Welcome to our channel! We are Sara and Luca, Italian couple and travel storytellers!
Are you ready to travel with us?
Leave everything and wander” is the result of Sara Bertagnolli’s and Luca Sguazzini’s desire to join their own skills and realise a dream: that of traveling, leaving the certainties and securities of everyday life behind.
After university Sara achieved high-level professional goals in the field of management and became the personal assistant to the fashion designer Philipp Plein.
Luca has been traveling a lot since he was a child and the last year he gained notoriety for his participation in the Italian version of “Dancing with the stars”; he has more than 138k followers on Instagram and 50k on Facebook.
They have decided to join forces and to tell a life out of the ordinary on social networks. The plan is to travel through Canada, Alaska and, in a second moment, United States, Messico and South America and to share the trip’s photos and videos on Youtube, Facebook and Instagram, giving to everyone the possibility to experience the “wander-spirit”.
Traveling without temporal or spatial limits will give Sara and Luca the possibility to entangle their story with that of people they will meet on the road and to discover new cultures, visiting also the places which are not famous, the ones which often have the biggest surprises in store.
The start-up budget will be limited in order to demonstrate that – also without great economical resources – everything is possible if you put the work in and involve as many people as possible.

Bowen Island Day Trip
A fun day trip from Vancouver to Bowen Island. We explored around for the afternoon and stumbled upon the Bowen Island Fish Hatchery. We got to release some coho salmon back into the streams, a very cool experience.
The island is completely overrun with Salmon Berry bushes and these purple stem flowers.

Bowen Island is only 40 minutes from downtown Vancouver via Horseshoe Bay, yet feels a world away.

Our quick trip to Snug Cove [Bowen Island, BC]
Happy New Year and Happy Boating!
We are continuing on our journey here in the Vancouver area in beautiful British Columbia (Canada) stopping in Snug Cove on Bowen Island. Bowen Island is located in Howe Sound and is a short 90 minute cruise from Coal Harbour (at least traveling 8 knots)!
Although we only had one night here and a few short hours of daylight to show you around, we will definitely come back here in the summer to explore more of what the island has to offer. Too bad for us, the high winter winds were coming so we needed to get a move on to Gibson's so we could hit a good window of weather to cross the Strait of Georgia in a couple of days.

Hiking Mount Gardner on Bowen island - A Wop in Canada - The Traveling Wop
Finally some sun! In this episode I take a ferry towards Bowen island, and then walk my way to the tallest spot, mount Gardner.
The aerial shots were taken with my new DJI Mavic Air, a technological marvel. I still have to figure out the proper settings, but I'm already in love with it!

Mount Gardner Hike, Bowen Island BC
Hiked up Mount Gardner located at Bowen Island. Parked our cars at the Horseshoe Bay area. Bought foot passenger ticket for ($10.50/person round-trip) ride ferry over. 20 minute ferry. This hike is 17 km round-trip. 720 meters elevation gain. Rated as intermediate/moderate. Average time 7 hours. Cool day trip adventure to hike Bowen Island. Highly recommended.
