City in Brazil
Natal is the capital city of the state of Rio Grande do Norte, on Brazil's northeastern tip. It's known for its extensive coastal sand dunes and star-shaped Forte dos Reis Magos, a 16th-century Portuguese fortress at the mouth of the Potengi River.
North across the river, Genipabu is an area of towering dunes with a freshwater lagoon. The Via Costeira highway links a 15km stretch of beaches south of the fort.

Natal, Brazil ????????
Walking around the Ponta Negra beach area in Natal, Brazil. My top rated beach in Brazil. Sand dunes, not a lot of tourist so very little to no people trying to sell you things and nice views. I had to visit a second time just to confirm to myself this beach is better than others I have visited in Brazil.
Recife Travel Guide - Brazil Exceptional Atmosphere
Recife Travel Guide - Brazil Exceptional Atmosphere
Recife is the capital of Pernambuco, it is one of the largest important cities on the northeastern coast of Brazil. This lively capital, originally founded by Dutch colonizers, is brimming with a vibrant culture, an interesting old town (which includes the oldest synagogue in the Americas) and some nice beaches and LOTS of sharks
Recife stands out as a major tourist attraction of the Northeast, both for its beaches and for its historic sites, dating back to both the Portuguese and the Dutch colonization of the region. The beach of Porto de Galinhas, 60 kilometers (37 mi) south of the city, has been repeatedly awarded the title of best beach in Brazil and has drawn many tourists. The Historic Centre of Olinda, 7 kilometers (4.3 mi) north of the city, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1982, and both cities' Brazilian Carnival are among the world's most famous.
Recife is on the Atlantic coast, at the mouth of the Capibaribe, Beberibe and Jordão Rivers, close to the eastern most point of the Americas. The climate is tropical, with two main seasons: dry (September-March) and rainy (April-August). Average annual temperature is 78.8°F, with limited variation. Many tourists stay along the beach in Boa Viagem, 10 km (7 mi) south of the center. The area of Boa Vista just across the Ponte Velha from the train station has a number of budget and mid-range hotels.
Celebrations, holidays and other events are numerous throughout the year. The New Year begins at the beach, Praia de Boa Viagem and in Old Recife. The carnival of Recife and Olinda (which has its historic town centre considered a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1982) begins many weeks ahead in December with innumerable balls and parades.
In the city, the carnival festivities begin in December, as locals begin preparing for the official Carnival, which starts the week before Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday in the Christian liturgical calendar. The pre-Carnival parties usually consist of percussion groups practising in local clubs, city streets and squares, and even Carnival balls. There is a variety of rhythms from different cultures. Carnival officially starts with the Galo da Madrugada, a party in Downtown Recife that attracts many people from several states of Brazil, and other parts of the world.
The Mercado de São José (Market of Saint Joseph) is an old, iron construction with a popular market nearby. In the Fort Cinco Pontes (Fort of Five Points) is the state museum, Museu do Estado de Pernambuco. At the rectangular Pátio de São Pedro are the Cathedral São Pedro (Cathedral of Saint Peter) dating from the year 1782 and restored colonial houses, with numerous restaurants, bistros and bars. In the Bairro Santo Antônio (Saint Anthony neighborhood), at the meeting place of the rivers Capibaribe and Beberibe, is the Praça da República (Square of the Republic) with the Teatro Santa Isabel (Theatre of Saint Isabel), with its neoclassical front, the Law Courts, and the Palácio da Justiça (Palace of Justice). The Casa da Cultura (House of Culture) is an old prison that has been converted into a cultural space and shopping centre. Built between 1835 and 1855, the Malakoff Tower, a monument constructed in Tunisian / Arabic style, used to be an observatory and now is a cultural centre and a place for popular gatherings. It is located at Arsenal da Marinha Square.
Recife has a zoo known as the Dois Irmãos Park, consisting of 387 hectares of Atlantic Forest reserve and 14 hectares of botanical gardens. It contains 800 animals, the Natural Science Museum and various ecological trails. The metropolitan area has also a giant water park 20 km (12 mi) North of Recife, called Veneza water park which has nearly one million square feet of area, ten million litres of water and lots of water slides for the youngsters.
Among Recife's main tourist attractions are:
Churches, historical monuments, public markets including 17th and 18th century buildings from Portuguese and Dutch colonizers;
Francisco Brennand's atelier of ceramic art;
Ricardo Brennand Institute: cultural institute with museum, art gallery and library;
Recife Antigo (Old Recife) buildings;
Boa Viagem beach is the urban area's most important beach, and one of the many beaches in the Pernambuco area;
Casa da Cultura
The Carnival at locations such as downtown and Recife Antigo;
Olinda's historic town centre

City Description:
Belém, capital of the state of Pará, is a port city and gateway to Brazil’s lower Amazon region. By Guajará Bay, the riverfront district Cidade Velha (old town) preserves Portuguese-colonial architecture, including churches, colorful azulejo-tile houses and a 17th-century fortification known as Forte do Presépio. Ver-o-Peso is a vast, open-air market on the water selling Amazonian fish, fruit and handicrafts.Many of Belém's European-style buildings were constructed during the Amazon rubber boom of the late-19th and early-20th centuries. Among them are the neoclassical Theatro da Paz, a venue for symphonic concerts and opera. The Museu Emílio Goeldi, founded in 1866, explores the nature and cultures of the Amazon region. The Estação das Docas, a renovated warehouse complex overlooking the river, features bars, restaurants and music venues, and is a starting point for boat tours. Belém also has many green spaces, such as Praça da República square, mango tree–lined streets and the Bosque Rodrigues Alves botanic garden.
Weather and Events:
Belém has a tropical climate, and is hot and humid year-round. Heavy rain is common Jan–May, including during the traditional Carnaval festivities (dates vary, Feb/Mar). The Círio de Nazaré (Oct) is a huge religious procession, attracting Christian pilgrims from all over Brazil who come to honor a sacred statue of the Virgin Mary.

City Description:
Manaus, on the banks of the Negro River in northwestern Brazil, is the capital of the vast state of Amazonas. It's a major departure point for the surrounding Amazon Rainforest. Just east of the city, the dark Negro River converges with the brown, muddy Solimões River resulting in a striking visual phenomenon called the “Meeting of the Waters.” The combined tributaries form the Amazon River.The city’s late-19th-century rubber boom is explored in the exhibits of the Museu do Seringal Vila Paraíso. The rubber boom's legacy can also be seen in the ornate, European-style Teatro Amazonas opera house, grand Palácio Rio Negro cultural center and Mercado Adolpho Lisboa (the municipal market, inspired by Paris’ Les Halles). The large, central Parque do Mindú is home to endangered pied tamarin monkeys, viewable from treetop walkways. Elsewhere, upscale beachfront neighborhood Ponta Negra is popular for nightlife and entertainment. The Praia da Lua area offers a white-sand beach with fish and beer vendors.
Weather and Events:
Peak travel periods include Dec–Jan and Jun–Jul. The tropical weather is hot and humid year-round, with a wet season Dec–May and dry season Jun–Nov. Major annual events and holidays include Carnaval (Feb/Mar, dates vary), the Amazonas Opera Festival (Apr–May) and the exuberant Boi-Bumba Afro-Brazilian folkloric festival (Paritins, Jun), held on the island of Paritins in the surrounding Amazon Rainforest.

Petropolis (Brazil) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Petropolis in Brazil.
Petropolis was an ancient city of Empire. It is situated around sixty kilometres north of Rio De Janeiro amid the mountains of the Serra Petropolis. A number of fine buildings and a lovely setting are a reminder of the noble past of this summer residence of the Emperor of Brasilia. The Catedral De Sao Pedro De Alcantara was designed according to French Gothic architecture and highlights the significance of the city. It took fifty five years to construct the imposing cathedral that was completed in 1884 during the reign of Emperor Dom Pedro The Second. From the outset the town enjoyed a European atmosphere as among the royal entourage were Italians, French, English and Swiss. The marvellous views and fine floral scenery must have enchanted the emperor and his European companions. Petropolis and its surroundings were for them, paradise on Earth.
