Pula (Croatia) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Pula in Croatia.
Situated close to the southern tip of the Istrian Peninsula in Coatia, is Pula, the oldest city on the eastern Adriatic coast. In Roman times the large square of this historic centre contained a forum and has many buildings that reflect the city’s recent history, including the Renaissance Town Hall that was built in 1296 at the end of Constantinople rule. Next to the Town Hall is the well-preserved Temple Of Augustus that dates back to 14 A.D. and was dedicated to the Roman Emperor. Prior to Roman times, it was Greek historians who first mentioned Pula in connection with a city founded by the Argonauts. Pula’s monumental Roman amphitheatre today ranks among the six largest of those that once belonged to the Roman Empire. The one hundred and five metre wide structure could accommodate twenty three thousand spectators. Numerous games and executions took place within it until 404 A.D. when gladiatorial battles were forbidden and the arena became a market place. Pula is a city of Roman roots, Byzantine monuments, past Venetian rule and recent K. and K. memories: an intriguing blend of history!

[4K] Pula, Croatia (2019) City Centre Circular Walk
Join us for this virtual city walk through Pula on the coast of Croatia on the Adriatic Sea and let us know your thoughts and comments below.
We start our Pula 4K walking tour in Trg Forum (Forum Square,) facing Augustov hram (Temple of Augustus) and the city government office. Surrounded by relaxing restaurants, bars and cafes, we leave the square via Kandlerova ul.
We turn towards the waterfront at Trg Svetog Tome, passing the tower that stands watch over the Vergarola Memorial.
We follow Riva, along the waterfront, with stalls selling boat trips and dolphin safaris, and we get our first views of the great Pula Arena (amphitheater.)
We pass Titov park before cutting through Valerijin park to visit the Arena itself. We wind our way slowly around the outside of the Amfiteatar u Puli, before following Scalierova ul down to the small Park kralja Petra Krešimira. Our route continues through a shaded avenue of restaurants and cafes along Giardini. We walk through the iconic Arch of the Sergii (Slavoluk Sergijevaca) and wander the historic streets, visiting Dante Square (Danteov trg) and it's beautiful fountain and cafes, the outdoor cafe in the gardens of the Home of the Homeland War Veterans (Dom hrvatskih branitelja.)
We rejoin the main historic street, Ul. Sergijevaca which leads us back to Forum Square, our starting point.

Our visit Pula travel guide documentary covers some of the top attractions including a food guide to pizza, top sightseeing tourist attractions and the city by day including visiting castles, forts churches, the old town, roman ruins, theatres, beaches and along the marina. We also cover off-the-beaten-path outdoor activities you won't find in a typical Pula tourism brochure, Pula itinerary or Pula, Croatia city tour also known as Pola.
10 Things to do in Pula, Croatia Travel Guide Video Transcript: (Pola)
Pula was our first introduction to Croatia and what a way to start! Located on the Istrian peninsula, this seaside town is home to Roman ruins, ancient temples, and some delicious pizza. The town won us over right from day one, so in this video, we’re going to take you on a tour of Pula and show you some of the highlights:
The amphitheatre was built during the reign of Emperor Vespasian, at the same time the Colosseum in Rome was going up. What’s even more shocking is how well preserved it is; this is the only remaining Roman amphitheatre with all four side towers and three stories still standing.
As a travel tip, if you visit during the summer months, you can catch numerous events at the amphitheatre, including concerts, movie screenings, and even reenactments of games from Ancient Rome.
When it comes to boat tours, the most popular destination is , a group of small islands that sit out on the Adriatic Sea.
The islands have a few archaeological and cultural sites but though admission to the park used to be free, these days you have to join one of the official excursions arranged by the park or local tourist agencies.
As for Pula Cathedral, it turns out it was closed when we tried to visit, so we can only show you the outside.
After all that wandering around town, it was finally time for lunch. We arrived at Jupiter Pizzeria just as they were opening and didn’t waste any time grabbing a seat on their outdoor terrace.
The fortress we spotted turned out to be Pula Castle, also known as Kaštel. Located atop a hill right in the centre of Pula, this fortress was built by the Venetians during the 17th century.
Admission was 20 kuna per person and there were two different museums exhibits to visit, however, we’d argue that the main draw are the views.
Over the course of the centuries, the Temple of Augustus has seen many uses from a Christian church to a grain storehouse, but at present, it houses a very small 1-room museum – and when we say small, we mean you can visit in 5 minutes!
The Roman Mosaic is just a short walk from the Forum, so it’s worth the little detour down back streets. This incredible well-preserved floor depicts the Punishment of Dirce, which is straight out of Greek mythology.

The majority of journalists around the world have chosen to develop their subject on controversial and sensational themes: violence, war, crime. But all these facts represent only 1% of our world and its inhabitants, forgetting the remaining 99% of which we never speak.
I chose to visit every country on the planet and film them to present them in High Definition format but in a raw way, without music, without comment. Simply, reality in all its truth. Thus, you will be able to make your own idea of the world in which you live.

Yachting off Pula City, Croatia #shareistria Day 3
On Day 3, we took a yacht off the Pula archipelago and went swimming off the coast - it was so cold I hated myself for a while hahaha. But after I got used to it, it was fabulous! My first time swimming in such cold water hahaha.
But the best part of the day was really the people in Istria. Everyone we met was nothing but friendly and helpful. And when I forgot to bring my charger, our guides and friends Goran and Marko took me around Pula city trying to find me a USB type C charger. We never found one to buy, but a guy at a phone store offered to lend me his personal charger to use and all I had to do was return it before I leave Istria.
Never have I met such warm, helpful people. Thank you Croatia for the best holiday memories.
