I accepted the challenge to visit all 589 Belgian muncipalities. In this video I visit the municipality of Tongeren in de province of Limburg. Tongeren is the oldest city in Belgium. Famous for the Gallo-Roman museum, Julius Cesar even mentioned Ambiorix in one of his books.

The N79 runs from Sint-Truiden to Vroenhoven. It crosses country-borders at Maastricht, where the N79 becomes the N278. It also connects to Tongeren, the oldest city in Belgium, which makes this a very busy road during the rush hours and weekends due to tourists and enthusiasts.
The part between Tongeren and Vroenhoven also follows (or lies parallel to) the old Via Belgica, which was an old, roman road.

Some shots from the September Fair in Tongeren from September 8th 2018 until September 16th 2018. This fair features more than 100 rides, stalls and other attractions. We only visited the part at 'de Motten' and the Town Square.

The oldest Belgium town, founded by the Romans as a strategic post on their heir road between Cologne and Bologne sur Mere. Today a shopping center for the region, but there are still a lot of antique artifacts to see; like parts of the old Roman wall, and of course the Gallo-Roman museum

I accepted the challenge to visit all 589 Belgian muncipalities. In this video I visit the municipality of Bilzen in de province of Limburg, Belgium.
During the summer months you can buy a treasure hunt at the tourist information board in Alden Biesen. It's a really fun and interesting treasure hunt that takes you not only to Alden Biesen but also to Bilzen center and to Tongeren. I can really recommend it. (As far as I know, only available in Dutch)
The treasure hunt guided us all around the beautiful castle of Alden Biesen, a perfect way to visit the castle and the park without missing something.

One day in the East Cantons : visiting EUPEN
Last sunny sunday I went to another side of Belgium, the East Cantons (oostkantons). This is the part of Belgium where they speak our third language, German.
I went to the city of Eupen, only 15 kilometres from the German border. You can already see some German characteristics in the architecture of churches and houses and other buildings.
As it is a small city, I think the best thing to do is plan to visit some more cities or villages in one day, as you will have seen it all very quickly. I did not know this so I went for another walk in Brussels as well, before going home.
The video will only give you some footage I made of the city of Eupen. I hope you will enjoy it as I did walking around Eupen.
