Turin (Torino) Italy - Cheap Travel
Travel Turin on a low budget! Let us show you all of the awesome tips and cool sights that don't cost a lot of money. Enjoy Torino!
ABOUT US:
We are the Taylors and we LOVE to travel. Even though we have 3 kids and it is hard to travel with kids, we do it anyways because nothing can replace the amazing experiences we get to have together as a family!
Traveling with kids is something we have a lot of practice with. Our first child flew on 23 flights before she was 6 months old. On the 23rd flight, someone asked us if this was our infant's first flight. Every time we go on a trip, our kids' favorite part is usually the hotel pool, but we still do it anyways.
We have gotten to visit Italy, China, Puerto Rico, Hong Kong, Macau, Mexico, Switzerland, St. Lucia, Barbados, St. Kitts, St. Maarten, Antigua, Taiwan, Singapore internationally and sixteen states in the United States including Alaska. We hope to visit MANY, MANY more places.
If you would like to know more about our family, you can check out our companion channel, Taylor Tadpoles. There we share some of the every day experiences of our lives. That is our way to remember the in between moments.
IN OUR VIDEOS:
In our travel videos, you will find helpful hints, travel tips, information about the places, memories of our family traveling and anything to get psyched about going on your next adventure. Obviously, Traventures is a combined version of Travel+Adventures. And ALL of our videos will have our travel adventures in them.
There are a lot of YouTube travel videos that show you how much fun they had. We not only want to do that, we want to show you how you can have just as much, if not more fun! We will give you all the tips and tricks, things we learned and stories of our own mistakes and travel troubles. Subscribe to get all of this crucial information, wherever your trips may take you.

Top Things to Do in Turin - Piazza Castello - A Guided Tour
Piazza Castello, the central square that contains all the history of the city, from its Roman foundation to the memorial stone reminding us of a Turinese resident deported to Auschwitz (161 Piazza Castello). At the centre of the square is the Castello degli Acaja (Castle of the Acaja) (13th -15th century) which is transformed into Palazzo Madama (Lady Palace) (17th – 18th century), the ancient residence of the Royal Ladies which then became the seat of the Senate of the Kingdom of Italy (Turin was the first capital of the Kingdom of Italy from 1861 to 1864). You can also find the Real Chiesa di San Lorenzo (Royal Church of Saint Lawrence), a baroque masterpiece by Guarino Guarini dated 1679, whose interior will leave you speechless.

Top Things to Do in Turin - Piazza Solferino - a Guided Tour
Piazza Solferino (Solferino Square) -
If from Piazza Castello you walk down Via Pietro Micca, which is the only street in the city center that is not orthogonal but oblique, you will arrive in this beautiful nineteenth-century square, introduced precisely by the Fountain “Angelica of the Four Seasons”, in the art deco style. Where via Pietro Micca and Via Cernaia meet, you will find the beautiful Palace of the General Insurance of Venice designed by Pietro Fenoglio in art nouveau style. On the square, instead, you will notice the neoclassical façade of the Alfieri Theater (1855). In the middle, a relaxing garden with trees that lead to the equestrian monument dedicated to Ferdinand, Duke of Genoa, with his horse collapsing to the ground wounded, and then a sundial, installed in 2013. In front of it you will discover a huge bronze sculpture representing a woman’s head which expresses intellect and emotion. The palace behind it is Palazzo Ceriana, designed by the eclectic architect Carlo Ceppi for this family of bankers.

Last Minute Trip | Exploring Turin
I spent a weekend in Milan recently and decided to take a day trip to Turin. It was one of the best decisions I made that weekend, although most of the decisions made that weekend were great (except for the pizza) Torino is the former capital of the Kingdom of Italy but it tends to be forgotten about because tourists are distracted with Rome, Venice, Milan, etc. Which is good because I don't mind the quiet... or this day's not so quiet streets. Riots over something that had the Carabinieri out in full force. There were many bike trails, lots of trees, and even vegan ice cream... a few of my favorite things. I hope to be back to see more of Italy soon because I really enjoy the warmth of the people and the weather. A huge thanks to everyone I met this weekend.
