Bad Schandau to Lichtenhain Waterfall, Driver's Eye View on the Kirnitzschtalbahn, Germany: 06/07/15
The Kirnitzschtal tramway, also known as the Kirnitzschtalbahn (Kirnitzsch Valley Tramway), is an electric tramway in Saxony, Germany. The line runs through the valley of the Kirnitzsch river in Saxon Switzerland, from the town of Bad Schandau up to the Lichtenhain Waterfall, in the municipality of Sebnitz. The line is principally a tourist service, being the only tramway to serve a National Park in Germany, and uses historical rolling stock built between 1925 and 1968. To read more about the Kirnitzschtalbahn click here: .
This film features the full journey 'upwards' from Bad Schandau to the terminal destination of Lichtenhain Waterfall, from a driver's eye perspective. This was achieved through the placement of a Veho Muvi 'action cam' on the dashboard of the tram (with driver consent). The end of the film features the tram reversing at Lichtenhain Waterfall to take the tram back down to Bad Schandau.

SWITZERLAND in GERMANY??-BASTEI BRIDGE - TRAVEL TIPS and INFORMATION
XXVI
Travel Tips and information
The Bastei is a rock formation towering 194 metres above the Elbe River in the Elbe Sandstone mountains of Germany. Reaching a height of 305 meters above sea level, the jagged rocks of the Bastei were formed by water erosion over one million years ago. They are situated near Rathen southeast of the city of Dresden and are the major landmark of the Saxon Switzerland National Park.
The Bastei has been a tourist attraction for over 200 years. In 1824, a wooden bridge was constructed to link several rocks for the visitors. This bridge was replaced in 1851 by the present Bastei Bridge made of sandstone. The rock formations and vistas have inspired several well-known artists, among them Caspar David Friedrich (“Felsenschlucht”).
Bastei is the most famous rock formation in Saxon Switzerland, Germany. Bastei and the Bastei Bridge are the highlights of the german Saxon Switzerland National Park area. You shouldn't miss to visit this attraction! It can be reached in less than 1 hour from the capital of Saxony: Dresden. From the Bastei rocks and the Bastei Bridge you have a wonderful panoramic view over the mountains. You will see the river Elbe, the Lilienstein mountain and Koenigstein fortress. Bastei Bridge is a 76,5 m man made bridge which connects the rock formations.

Sebnitztalbahn (Sächsischer Semmering) 1998: Mit der V100 von Neukirch nach Bad Schandau
The Sebnitztalbahn is a beautiful railroad line in Southeastern Germany. It still has the scenic atmosphere of a typical secondary railway: telegraph poles, nice little station buildings etc. Filmed in 1998. Today this type of V100 diesel locomotive and the cars are out of service.

Bike???? Germany ElbeRadWeg (eng subtitles)
Story of a pedal stroke in sauerkraut in our German neighbors!
Germany is one of the most bikerphilic countries in the world and yet unknown to French cyclists.
The Elberadweg (way of the Elbe) was elected for the 13th consecutive German favorite track (according to the ADFC, 2017), it is mostly a real bike path, in very Good condition and flat. Ideal for families ... and for smokers. Geoffrey, my cycling partner is more used to holding a cigarette than a handlebar. With a BAC -6 in sport we had to find an easy destination! :)
In short we celebrate our 10 years of friendship, still hosted in Couchsurfing / Warmshowers!
