Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau a Local's Winter Tale - holiday in Austria
Ski instructor Johann was born and raised in Alpbachtal Wildschönau. The village of Alpbach has won the award for most beautiful village in Europe. It’s also a village of thinkers, especially once a year when the European forum Alpbach takes place in these stunning suroundings. The traditional roots run deep here, but the Alpbachtal is a very open-minded region and welcomes guest from all over the world. Especially in the winter because the Ski Juwel is such a perfect choice for every level of skier. From beginners to experts, everyone discovers his or her ideal slopes. The connection between the two main parts of the ski resort is one of the nicest rides. It takes 10 minutes from Alpbachtal to Wildschönau and on the way back you can enjoy the magnificent views from the gondola.

Visit Austria (Tirol) - Tyrol Travel Guide to Alpbachtal Video Transcript:
Today we’re showing you around one of the most picturesque corners in all of Austria: the Alpbachtal Valley located in Tyrol. This was our first time visiting Austria and I don’t think we could have chosen a better place to start. While we only had 3 days in this region, we managed to pack lots of time in the mountains, sample the local cuisine and befriend more than one cow along the way. The following is our mini-travel guide to Alpbachtal:
After getting settled into our farmhouse it was time for lunch and boy were we hungry. We drove to Brandenberg where we ate at Kaiserhaus, a restaurant and guesthouse tucked out in nature.
Tyrolean Food at Kaiserhaus Gasthof - Seeing as this was our first day in Tyrol, we wanted to sample some Tyrolean food including gamey meats and noodle dishes.
Hiking the Kaiserklamm - This was a really nice walk that followed the course of the river and took us over a series of bridges and tunnels. We sure enjoyed the scenery.
After that we returned back to our town of Reith im Alpbachtal, where we had some more hearty Tyrolean food and listened to a bit of live music.
On day 2, we lucked out with clear blue skies, so after having breakfast in our farmhouse, we drove to the town of Alpbach. Here we got quick e-biking lesson, and set off to tackle the Alps in style.
It wasn’t long before we left the town behind and found ourselves in the middle of nature. We rode up valleys, over streams, through forests, and tackled some pretty steep inclines along the way, but as you can see, the scenery was stunning.
We drove to the nearby village of Kramsach, where we stopped off for - you guessed it - more food! We were famished after all that biking, and we didn’t hold back. We plopped ourselves down at Rohrerhof, where we proceeded to order cappuccinos, massive dessert platters and schnapps. The next attraction: the Tyrolean Farmhouse Museum,
Gondola ride to Wiedersbergerhorn - After a leisurely walk and enjoying the impressive views, something else caught our attention - a mountaintop restaurant with an outdoor terrace!
Almatrieb Cows Come Home Parade - By noon, the festivities were in full swing. But it wasn’t all about cows. There were also craft demonstrations, food stalls, and lots of bands playing for jovial crowds who created their own dance floors.
That sums up our trip to the Alpbachtal Valley in Tyrol - cows, mountains and a whole bunch of delicious food. See you next time in Vienna (Wien).

Alpbach, Austria // January & March 2018
This year we decided to finally learn to ski. After researching the best spots in Europe to go to learn, we landed upon the quaint Alpine town of Alpbach. Already in love with Austria from previous trips, it instantly felt like the perfect fit. Our first weekend in January, we took lessons and enjoyed finding our footing on skis. In March, we went off on our own. While we didn't make it onto the trails higher up into the mountains this year, we know that when we return around Christmas time we will finally be ready. It isn't easy to push yourself to learn new things as you get older but we are so glad we learned to ski and can say we now have a new hobby!

Alpbachtal in Tirol – Summer Holidays in Austria
We sent some Brits to Alpbachtal in Tirol (Austria) in search of the perfect selfie - and the perfect summer adventure! Learn more about what they experienced and build your own summer holiday here:
Austria’s Most Beautiful Village: This is not your usual holiday destination. On first glance, you might doubt that the Alpbachtal region in Tirol is even real. Perhaps you’ll have to pinch yourself to make sure you’re awake.
Why? Because it’s almost too good to be true. It’s no coincidence that the region is home to Alpbach, which was named Austria’s most beautiful village – the picturesque wooden houses decorated with colourful flowers, set against a backdrop of rugged mountains might have you pause for a moment to marvel. And it doesn’t stop there: When you feel the spray of water from a stream running through a wild, rocky gorge, you will finally know: Yes, this is real.

Skiing In Alpbach, Austria // January 2019
After spending time in Germany back in December to pick back up on our progress of learning how to ski, we decided to head back to Austria in January for a week-long trip. We started off slow on the small slope in town but by the end of the week, we were taking the cable car up into the mountains. We are still at the beginning of our journey on skis but are feeling good about the progress we made this season. Now the countdown is on for next winter!

Tyrol Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Tyrol.
The Tyrol is a picturesque federal state in the west of Austria and one of the most beautiful areas in Europe set within the magnificent Alps. It boasts many ancient towns, monasteries and fortresses that highlight the region’s history.Kitzbühel was once a prosperous mining town but today it is a world famous ski resort that is also popular in the summer months. The old town, with its pretty middle class buildings that date back to the fifteenth century, is a fine example of Austria’s rural architecture. Westendorf was judged to be the most beautiful village in Europe and not without reason as it nestles picturesquely within a fertile high valley on the northern slopes of the Kitzbüheler Alps, an oasis of relaxation in contrast to the busy tourist centres of the surrounding area. The Fohlenhof Ebbs Stud at the foot of the Kaiser Mountains is the official location of the Tyrol Horse Breeding Union and is where the famous Haflinger horses are bred. Further west of the Inntal the Alpbach Tal leads into an untouched natural landscape. At an altitude of nine hundred and seventy five metres above sea level is the remote mountain village of Alpbach, the most beautiful village in the Tyrol which has maintained its traditional character with typical timber built farmhouses and balconies decorated with flowers. At the junction of Unter-Inntal and Ober-Inntal is the Tyrol’s metropolis of Innsbruck, the Florence Of The North. The nearby mountains form a magnificent backdrop for the Late Gothic city centre whose main street leads from the Triumph Pforte to as far as the Annasäule and then on to the Golden Dachl. Today this popular Alpine holiday region welcomes international visitors throughout the year and is most deservedly referred to as a natural treasure in the very heart of Europe!
