Live Journey of Zebu Museum by Krishi Jagran
The Zebu Museum Edílson Lamartine Mendes, is the property of the Brazilian Association of Breeders of Zebu - ABCZ. The establishment of this institution began on December 19, 1983, through the signing of an agreement between ABCZ and the Faculdades Integradas de Uberaba - FIUBE, now Uberaba University - UNIUBE; Faculty of Agronomy and Zootechnics of Uberaba, now Associated Faculties of Uberaba - FAZU and the Cultural Foundation of Uberaba - FCU. In its early days of existence, the Zebu Museum was just a department of the ABCZ.

POLAND: WARSAW: POPE JOHN PAUL II VISIT (2)
Natural Sound
The Pope was given a hero's welcome by people lining the roads of Warsaw on Friday afternoon as he made his way to a monument for Jewish Victims.
He arrived at the Warsaw monument for Jewish victims of the Holocaust before spending a few minutes talking privately to Polish Jewish leaders.
Marek Edelman, the only surviving leader of the 1943 Warsaw Ghetto uprising, spent a few minutes with the Pontiff as did Jerzy Kichler, the head of the Union of Jewish Communities in Poland.
At the monument, the Pope said a prayer for the one (m) million Jewish victims killed at Auschwitz and nearby Birkenau camp in southern Poland as part of the Holocaust.
Earlier in the day, Poland's chief rabbi used a rare meeting with Pope John Paul II to ask for removal of a tall cross on property bordering the former Auschwitz Nazi death camp.
Rabbi Pinchas Menachem Joskowicz broached the sensitive subject during a series of brief, informal greetings the Polish-born pontiff had with religious leaders after speaking in Poland's parliament.
John Paul's brief response was inaudible, and the Vatican spokesman later called the issue a local one to be decided by the Polish church.
Other Jewish leaders in Poland criticised Joskowicz for raising the matter in what they called an inappropriate forum.

SUMMARY
=======
The history of the Jews in Latin America began with conversos who joined the Spanish and Portuguese expeditions to the continents. The Spanish permitted only Christians to take part in New World expeditions after its Crown expelled the Jews in 1492.
After the expulsion, many Sephardic Jews migrated to the Netherlands, France and eventually Italy, from where they joined other expeditions to the Americas. Others migrated to England or France and accompanied their colonists as traders and merchants. By the late 16th century, fully functioning Jewish communities were founded in the Portuguese colony of Brazil, the Dutch Suriname and Curaçao; Spanish Santo Domingo, and the English colonies of Jamaica and Barbados. In addition, there were unorganized communities of Jews in Spanish and Portuguese territories where the Inquisition was active, including Colombia, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Peru. Many in such communities were crypto-Jews, who had generally concealed their identity from the authorities.
By the mid-17th century, the largest Jewish communities in the Western Hemisphere were located in Suriname and Brazil. Several Jewish communities in the Caribbean, Central and South America flourished, particularly in those areas under Dutch and English control, which were more tolerant. More immigrants went to this region as part of the massive emigration of Jews from eastern Europe in the late 19th century. During and after World War II, many Ashkenazi Jews emigrated to South America for refuge. In the 21st century, fewer than 300,000 Jews live in Latin America. They are concentrated in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, with the first considered the center of the Jewish population in Latin America.

Synagogues may be considered oldest based on different criteria. Many very old synagogues have been discovered in archaeological digs. Some synagogues have been destroyed and rebuilt several times on the same site, so, while the site or congregation may be ancient, the building may be modern. Still other very old synagogue buildings exist, but have been used for many centuries as churches, mosques, or for other purposes. And some very old synagogues have been in continuous use as synagogues for many centuries.

SUMMARY
=======
The history of the Jews in the United States has been part of the American national fabric since colonial times. Until the 1830s, the Jewish community of Charleston, South Carolina, was the largest in North America. In the late 1800s and the beginning of the 1900s, many Jewish immigrants left from various nations to enter the U.S. as part of the general rise of immigration movements. For example, many German Jews arrived in the middle of the 19th century, established clothing stores in towns across the country, formed Reform synagogues, and were active in banking in New York. Immigration of Eastern Yiddish-speaking Ashkenazi Jews, in 1880–1914, brought a large, poor, traditional element to New York City. They were Orthodox or Conservative in religion. They founded the Zionist movement in the United States, and were active supporters of the Socialist party and labor unions. Economically, they concentrated in the garment industry.
Refugees arrived from diaspora communities in Europe after World War II and, after 1970, from the Soviet Union. Politically, American Jews have been especially active as part of the liberal New Deal coalition of the Democratic Party since the 1930s, although recently there is a conservative Republican element among the Orthodox. They have displayed high education levels, and high rates of upward social mobility. The Jewish communities in small towns have dwindled, as the population concentrated in large metropolitan areas.
In the 1940s, Jews comprised 3.7% of the national population. Today, at about 6.5 million, the population is 2% of the national total—and shrinking as a result of smaller family sizes and interfaith marriages resulting in nonobservance. The largest population centers are the metropolitan areas of New York (2.1 million in 2000), Los Angeles (668,000), Miami (331,000), Philadelphia (285,000), Chicago (265,000) and Boston (254,000).
