The Ottawa River (French: Rivière des Outaouais) is a river in the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec. For most of its length, it now defines the border between these two provinces.
The river rises from its source in Lake Capimitchigama, in the Laurentian Mountains of central Quebec, and flows west to Lake Timiskaming. From there its route has been used to define the interprovincial border with Ontario.
From Lake Timiskaming, the river flows southeast to Ottawa and Gatineau, where it tumbles over the Chaudière Falls and further takes in the Rideau and Gatineau rivers.
The Ottawa River drains into the Lake of Two Mountains and the St. Lawrence River at Montreal. The total length of the river is 1,271 kilometers (790 mi); it drains an area of 146,300 km2, 65% in Quebec and the rest in Ontario, with a mean discharge of 1,950 m3/s.
The average annual mean waterflow measured at Carillon dam, near the Lake of Two Mountains, is 1,939 m3/s, with average annual extremes of 749 to 5,351 m3/s. Record historic levels since 1964 are a low of 529 in 2005 and a high of 8190 m3/s in 1976.[

Algonquin College in the Ottawa Valley - Outdoor Adventure Program
Algonquin College in the Ottawa Valley is the leader in outdoor training in Eastern Canada. Our graduates have a career where they truly love what they do and work wherever in the world they want to!
This two-year Ontario College Diploma program provides professional guide training with the theoretical and practical skills required to work in the global outdoor adventure industry. Partnered with Wilderness Tour (Canada's largest outdoor adventure company) students can acquire national certification in a selection of disciplines. Emphasis is placed on providing students with a well-grounded background in three main principles: safety of self and others, respect for self and others and respect for natural and cultural environments.
Students gain theoretical knowledge in the business side of the industry through courses, such as: computer applications, accounting, risk management, industry analysis, leadership and ethics, marketing and customer service, and communications. Half of the course hours focus on outdoor practical training. Students learn a wide variety of adventure activities including whitewater kayaking, rock climbing, winter survival camping, alpine skiing, and mountain biking. In addition, students take part in several multi-day expeditions.

CANADA | Train to Halifax | One of the best scenic train trips
This video is based on my train journey from Quebec City to Halifax. After doing this 20 hours journey, I can say it is one of the most beautiful train rides in the world. I have shared information on the facilities available on a Via Rail train for passengers. For eg, restaurants, pantry, free wifi, etc. The best thing about this train journey was the dome coach of the train where anyone can come and sit for free. This journey was actually a joy ride for me.
