Located by lake Towada right in the center of Aomori prefecture, this Shinto shrine is recognized as a holy place in Aomori. Built according to the authorities in 807, Towada Shrine was previously famous as being dedicated to the god of water, Azure Dragon, known as Seiryu in Japanese. However, today, the shrine now honors Yamato Takeru who was a legendary Japanese prince in the Yamato dynasty and the son of Emperor Keiko.
What makes Towada Shrine so special, besides its vibrant history, is by far its amazing forest path known as Suginami, a shortened version of the word from the Edo period “Suginamiki”, which can be translated as avenue of Cedars.

The last of shaky video's! This was a beautiful place but was cold, foggy, raining and trying to carry a purse and a camera and an umbrella in flip flops in the mud and slippery stairs. Sped the video up so chipmunkish!! Fun anyway and worth visiting.

Throughout the road, the green forests of Aomori comfort the tired body and mind. A park with a lot of recordings stopped me from coming again. The sound of a cool waterfall seems to purify your mind. People who come and go are quietly listening to the sound of nature that the forests speak, and the fallen trees seem to have stopped. It does not artificially touch or damage the forest. The low stream of the valley is so beautiful that many artists are looking for the Oirase stream. I met a painter who carefully painted moss on the campus. The charm of Oirase is that there are no mosses and grasses and straight trees. It is on the theme. I went deep into the forest along the flowing stream of the Oirase stream. It feels good to be able to breathe through the dense forest where the primeval forest is floated, to take away the clean nature without tea and to breathe in it. People are stopping and looking at something. It is a trail of a long time between the trees and the forest road, the moss. I even admire the photo, Mok. This is moss. It's great. I wondered what the moss looked like with a small magnifying glass. It is so beautiful. It felt fresh to me that the little moss that I passed by unintentionally became such a beautiful life. I usually go through without thinking, but when I take a closer look at the moss, I can look at the beauty of the small world and the art of nature. I look at the moss and I have to look closely to see that it is lovely to look long.

JAPANESE TREASURES- ORIASE & TOWADA ????????
Hi Guys!
I am back with another video! Not so much eating included this time haha
We went to Nenokuchi by boat (50 mins approx) and started walking alongside the Oirase stream.
The Oirase Stream flows from Lake Towada on the border of Aomori and Akita prefectures through the equally scenic Oirase Gorge.
We were so done in the end..walked 18 plus KMs, but it was worth it. The stream has a lot of waterfalls and the colour of the water is so beautiful, mixture of white and blue.
Before leaving Lake Towada we went to see Towada Shrine. It was early in the morning so there was noone.

Towada Fall Festival Aomori Japan
Towada City in Aomori Prefecture in Japan which is located in northern Japan in the Tohoku region.
The parade includes San Bongi HS band, Obon Dancers, Mikoshi (Portable Shrines) and the floats. Over 40 entries made for a very long day! This was the most enjoyable of all the float festivals I have been to this summer!

Guriland Boat Adventures, Lake Towada, Japan / 18 Oct 2015
Another incredible day on the lake! This time I cranked up the speed a bit and got out of my kayak for a tour with Guriland Boat Adventures and the Misawa AB Outdoor Recreation Center. The weather couldn't have been better and the early morning fog made the scenery even better than expected. The autumn leaves are in their full colors this week!
