Lake Towada, Aomori Japan
Lake Towada (十和田湖 Towada-ko?) is the largest crater lake in Honshū island, Japan. Located on the border between Aomori and Akita prefectures, it lies 400 meters (1,800 ft) above sea level and is 327 m (1,073 ft) deep, drained by the Oirase river. With a surface area of 61.1 km², Towada is Japan's 12th largest lake, its bright blue color is due to its great depth. The lake is roughly circular, with two peninsulas extending from its southern shore approximately one-third into the center of the lake.

Afternoon in Aomori
The guys are hungry for some ramen and go searching for a very popular restaurant in Aomori with a special dish: Butter Ramen!! An Aomori specialty and damn is it good! Then the guys head over to the visitor center by the famous Aomori bridge for an unobstructed view of the city from the observation deck. After a full day of hangin' out, they grab a quick beer and board the train back to Misawa. This is the final of a 3-part Aomori episode.

Hachinohe→Towada Art Center by JR Bus (Oirase-go, 40 minutes)
Towada Art Center→Towadako Onsenkyo (Oirase-go, 50 minutes)
Towadako Onsenkyo→Lake Towada (local bus, hotel bus, etc.)
Lake Towada→Suiren-numa (JR Bus, Mizuumi-go, 20 minutes)
Suiren-numa→JR Aomori Station or JR Shin-Aomori Station (Mizuumi-go, 1 hour 40-50 minutes)

The last of shaky video's! This was a beautiful place but was cold, foggy, raining and trying to carry a purse and a camera and an umbrella in flip flops in the mud and slippery stairs. Sped the video up so chipmunkish!! Fun anyway and worth visiting.
Towada Japan: Tracking art on the go
Bringing GPS tracking, Azure cloud technology, and Bing Maps together, visitors to Towada Art Center were able to experience art in a whole new way. Together with Nissho Electronics, a plan was devised to monitor the locations of the vehicles that are part of the public exhibit, with palm-sized GPS devices. Through the scalability of Azure, the solution was delivered in 10 days.

Japan's Oirase Gorge Lake Towada
Road trip to Lake Towada which is inside a volcano where you must drive through Oirase Gorge and is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. With huge rock formations and stellar cliffs surrounded by this bright green tropical forest containing a number of icy rapids and plunging 5 story waterfalls add to the beauty of the place, whose main center is the charming Ishigedo. The many waterfalls and rapids have been given colorful names such as: Soryu Waterfall (Two Dragon Waterfall), Tomoshiraga Waterfall (Happy Marriage Waterfall), Kudan Waterfall (Nine Stairs Waterfall), Shiraito Waterfall (White String Waterfall), Shirakinu Waterfall (White Silk Waterfall), Tamadare Waterfall (Bead Curtain Waterfall) and Shimai Waterfall (Sister Waterfall).
Of course the day we went, it rained with freezing 43 degree weather, and were not prepared for the 45 minute drive through the gorge on a barely passable 2 lane winding road with much traffic.
It was magical and absolutely stunning!!
