Game of Thrones Dubrovnik | S08 Location | Amazing Experience You Don't Want to Miss I Ep5
In this video, I'll show you the real-life locations of Game of Thrones in Dubrovnik. Don't miss the Game of Thrones season 8 location hidden in the episode. This was an excellent tour where we saw much Game of Thrones locations shot in an around the old town Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik has been mainly used to depict Kings Landing in the series. I've tried my best to match the real-life locations with the shots in the series through color grading and framing in spite of a very run and gun filming. We booked a 1.5 hour Game of Thrones Dubrovnik tour using the Get my Guide app and I would recommend the same for you if you want to do this tour as it's the easiest way to book a tour in Dubrovnik. It was August and the temperature was around 38degC but the sheer adrenaline of the tour made me forget all about the heat. I left the kid behind for this tour because you would have to climb a lot of stairs during this trip (about 200 steps from Dubrovnik west pier at Pile harbour to the fort) and it would be very difficult with the kid. Moreover, kids would be bored as there's nothing of interest to them. So I would recommend leaving the kids behind.
The series uses a lot of CGI for the shots because of which the real-life locations do not match 100% to the scenes in the series. I've busted some CGI in this episode and you would be able to make it out very clearly.
Lastly, if you're a Game of Thrones fan and loved the episode then don't forget to like this video and subscribe for more awesome content.
If you've any question about the episode or the tour the comment section is all yours :)

18. SOUNDBITE (English) Nino Gjivoje, a tourist from the USA:
This is amazing to think that planes fly overhead and we are here thirty meters underground. You know, this is actually incredibly beautiful because the stalagmites (he means stalagtites) come down and to be able to enjoy the wine at the same time is actually really nice.
19. SOUNDBITE (Croatian) Tanja Stahuljak, a tourist from Croatia:
I don't know much about wines, but I thought both were very special. Different to ones I've tried before. Actually, the ambiance is the most important. It is a special experience to taste wine in a natural wine-cellar.
20. Pan right: wine bottles
21. Mid shot: wine bottles in a crate
22. SOUNDBITE (Croatian) Ivo Ivanis, wine-expert:
Plavac from the Konavle region is different because of its location. There is enough sun here, but there are enough cool nights too. The grapes are not burned by the sun or by the reflection coming from the sea. They have enough alcohol but keep a higher quantity of oxygen. Such Plavac is easier to drink than the others. That makes it different to other sorts of Plavac in Croatia. And the dry Malvazija is as good as the Istrian Malvazija, while the sweet Malvazija is ... a top one.
23. Pan left: the tourists in the cave
24. SOUNDBITE: (Croatian) Tomislav Macan, Chief Technical Officer, Dubrovnik Airport:
While renovating the cave we paid attention to ecology and preservation of micro-climate by using natural materials only. Finally, we chose ecological lighting that does not heat the environment and damage the micro-climate, so that the cave would be beautiful and attractive for the next generations too.
25. Pan left: wine and Souvenir Shop
26. Pan right: souvenirs, wooden ships and dolls in Konavle traditional clothing
27. Close up: a doll in Konavle traditional clothing
28. Close up: souvenir - a wooden plane
29. SOUNDBITE: (Croatian) Ksenija Matic, Guide, Skycellar,Dubrovnik Partner Agency:
We already have positive feedback from some agencies that have included this location on their list of excursions and, we hope that the cave and wine-tasting will one day become an excursion that is automatically offered along with all the other attractions of Dubrovnik.
30. Mid shot: wine bottles
31. Mid shot: wine bottles
LEADIN:
Travellers leaving from Dubrovnik airport are taking advantage of a new kind of out flight entertainment.
Before they hop on board a flight - they are being given the chance to sample a range of fine wines in an ancient cave that has been converted into a wine cellar.
STORYLINE:
Touch down at Dubrovnik airport where more than 1.2 million tourists will fly in or out of by the end of this year.
Nobody welcomes delays, but if they happen here, passengers might not be as frustrated as they might be elsewhere.
The entrance to Djurovica Cave is only 50 metres (164 feet) away from the control tower.

Walking the City Walls of Dubrovnik
While visiting Dubrovnik we took the opportunity to walk the old walls of the city. It’s the best way to see a full view of the entire old town while exploring a major piece of its history.

When you are in Dubrovnik, you should definitely take a walk around the city through its famous city wall. The Dubrovnik city wall surrounds the old town.
After climbing the first steps you will find the best views of the crowded Stradun. You will also be able to see in the distance the Bell Tower, one of the most famous places in Dubrovnik.
Walk a bit more towards the sea and you will arrive to the historical Bokar Fortress in Dubrovnik, from there you will be able to see the Lovrejenac Fortress, another historical location of this beautiful city.
Of course, besides the view of the city and surrounding mountains and hills, you will always be able to see the beautiful Crystal clear water of the Adriatic sea. This section of the wall in Dubrovnik is full of cafes and other small places where you can enjoy the traditional coffee or some ice cream during the hot summer days. Soon, you will find yourself in the harbour.
Remember to take sometime to really appreciate the view, the 2 km are very tough, make sure to bring enough liquids and to use sun screen all the time. There are several guided tours around the area.
Also, if you are interested in Game of Thrones, you will be happy to know that some of the places around Drubrovnik iconic walls were used in the filming of this series.

Our trip:
Zagreb:
Zagreb has culture, arts, music, architecture, gastronomy and all the other things that make a quality capital city – it's no surprise that the number of visitors has risen sharply in recent years. Croatia’'s coastal attractions aside, Zagreb has finally been discovered as a popular city-break destination in its own right.
Split
Croatia’s second-largest city, Split (Spalato in Italian) is a great place to see Dalmatian life as it’s really lived. Always buzzing, this exuberant city has just the right balance of tradition and modernity. Step inside Diocletian’s Palace (a Unesco World Heritage site and one of the world’s most impressive Roman monuments) and you’ll see dozens of bars, restaurants and shops thriving amid the atmospheric old walls where Split life has been humming along for thousands of years.
Brac
Island Brac, the largest island of the central Dalmatian group of islands, the third largest among the Adriatic islands; area 394.57 sq km; population 13,824.
Hvar
The island of Hvar is the queen of the Croatian Dalmatian islands. It has been famous since the antique because of its important strategic and nautical position, the rich of the various historical periods, the culture and natural monuments and the literature.
Montenegro
The pearl of the Mediterranean, unique in many ways, is situated in the south of the Adriatic. Nowhere else can you find, so much natural wealth, beauty, mild beaches, clear lakes, fast rivers, and gorgeous mountains in such a compact area as in Montenegro.
Budva
Kotor
Wedged between brooding mountains and a moody corner of the bay, the achingly atmospheric Kotor (Котор) is perfectly at one with its setting. Hemmed in by staunch walls snaking improbably up the surrounding slopes, the town is a medieval maze of museums, churches, cafe-strewn squares and Venetian palaces and pillories.

The Beauty of Dubrovnik Ancient City Walls - Walking Tour 2015 Full HD
Take a walking tour of the City Walls of Dubrovnik (Croatia). Also this is one of the locations where Game of Thrones is filmed. In that world Dubrovnik is known as King's Landing.
Filmed: May 2015 with the Sony DSC-HX400V
Dubrovnik Cable Car:
The city walls are considered to be one of the most grandiose fortification monuments in Europe. The entire city core of Dubrovnik is encircled within these walls. The first fortifications were built in the 8th century, most of the construction took place from the mid-15th to the end of the 16th century. The huge earthquake in 1667 didn't do much damage. And since then both man and nature failed at destroying these massive but beautiful walls.
The main wall on the land side is 4 to 6 meters (13-20 feet) thick, but narrower on the side facing the sea 1.5 to 3 meters (5-10 feet) thick. Its height reaches 25 meters (83 feet) in some places. The walls run an uninterrupted course of approximately 1,940 metres (6,360 ft) in length. The wall on the land side is protected by an additional scarp wall as a defence against artillery fire. The main wall has 14 quadrangular and 2 circular towers, 2 angular fortifications and 4 bastions. Thw wall is protected at four points by strong forts. The strong round Tower Minčeta is to the north, the port is protected by the detached Fortress Revelin in the east and by the big complex of the Fortress of Saint John in the south-east. The western entrance to the city is protected by the strong and beautiful Bokar fortress. The western end of the city is also protected from the sea and land by powerful detached Fortress Lovrijenac.
