New Year's First Visit to the Shrine - 2011 - Urayasu, Japan
January 1, 2011, we made our first visit to our local shrine in Urayasu - the Toyoke Shrine. You can find tourist info (in Japanese) about the shrine here:
In Japan, it is tradition to make a visit to the shrine in the first few days of the new year in order to ask for luck and happiness in the coming year. This is called hatsumode in Japan. You can read more about hatsumode in the article here:

Welcome back, my friends!
Today I wanted to take you along on a quick little tour of this beautiful place that I call home. While in Japan I live in the city of Urayasu, It's located just on the outskirts of Tokyo Japan. Like many places in Japan, riding a bike is one of the most popular ways to get around. The streets and sidewalks are specially designed, allowing for all types of traffic to work in harmony.
It's crazy to think that only a few years ago this magnificent place was torn apart by a massive earthquake, but Just like everything that they do, the people of Japan have taken pride to rebuild this mesmerizing place even bigger and better than it was before. Nature is an important part of the Japanese culture so parks are strategically snuggled in between the city buildings allowing families to enjoy a little down time from their busy days.
The Shinurayasu station is where I catch my train to work every day. Even within this modern station, you can find small tokens of Japan's rich history and culture like this statue of Ojizo San, a Buddhist God for children to pray to. ShinUrayasu is only one stop away from Tokyo Disneyland. The station is surrounded by many levels of shops and restaurants making it a very popular destination.
On the other side of town, you can find the place where I spend a lot of my off time. I love bringing my beach towel and enjoying the sun here as I gaze towards the North Pacific Ocean. It's a great place to bring friends , have a cookout, and just recharge. It's also one of the best places to go and get your exercise in for the day.
Japan is loaded with incredible sites that I'm excited to share with you so stay tuned throughout my stay here to learn more about this beautiful country.

Tokyo (Japanese: [toːkjoː] ( listen), English /ˈtoʊki.oʊ/), officially Tokyo Metropolis, is the capital of Japan and one of its 47 prefectures. The Greater Tokyo Area is the most populous metropolitan area in the world. It is the seat of the Emperor of Japan and the Japanese government. Tokyo is in the Kantō region on the southeastern side of the main island Honshu and includes the Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands. Formerly known as Edo, it has been the de facto seat of government since 1603 when Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu made the city his headquarters. It officially became the capital after Emperor Meiji moved his seat to the city from the old capital of Kyoto in 1868; at that time Edo was renamed Tokyo. Tokyo Metropolis was formed in 1943 from the merger of the former Tokyo Prefecture (東京府 Tōkyō-fu) and the city of Tokyo (東京市 Tōkyō-shi).
Tokyo DisneySea (東京ディズニーシー?) is a 176-acre (71.22 ha) theme park at the Tokyo Disney Resort located in Urayasu, Chiba, Japan, just outside Tokyo.[1] It opened on September 4, 2001, at a cost of 335 billion yen. Owned by The Oriental Land Company, which licenses Disney characters and themes from The Walt Disney Company, Tokyo DisneySea attracted an estimated 14 million visitors in 2013, making it the third-most-visited theme park in the world. Tokyo DisneySea was the second theme park to open at the Tokyo Disney Resort and the ninth park of the eleven worldwide Disney theme parks to open. Tokyo DisneySea was the fastest theme park in the world to reach the milestone of 10 million guests, having done so in 307 days after its grand opening. The previous record-holder was Universal Studios Japan 338 days after its opening.
Sensō-ji (金龍山浅草寺? Kinryū-zan Sensō-ji) is an ancient Buddhist temple located in Asakusa, Tokyo, Japan. It is Tokyo's oldest temple, and one of its most significant. Formerly associated with the Tendai sect of Buddhism, it became independent after World War II. Adjacent to the temple is a Shinto shrine, the Asakusa Shrine. The Sensoji Kannon temple is dedicated to Guanyin, the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy, and is the most widely visited spiritual site in the world with over 30 million visitors annually
Meiji Shrine (明治神宮? Meiji Jingū), located in Shibuya, Tokyo, is the Shinto shrine that is dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife, Empress Shōken. The shrine does not contain the emperor's grave, which is located at Fushimi-momoyama, south of Kyoto.
Sogo Koen park (総合公園) in Urayasu City, Chiba, Japan
This gorgeous seaside park adjacent to Tokyo Bay was a nice find, while out on my bicycle one day. The best part was the HUGE open field right by the water's edge (about the size of at least 2 football fields), great for playing ball, flying kites, and tossing the frisbee. They also have a day camp area where you can have a BBQ cookout.

Carrying A Giant Shrine Through the Streets Of Japan on Accident
Urayasu Sanja Matsuri – Nekozane Village
Today Jana and I were running through back alleyways to catch a glimpse of the Urayasu Sanja Matsuri festival.. We started sprinting when we heard all the commotion coming through the streets. We then got a great selfie with it in the background, when suddenly we were pulled into the carrying of the (VERY heavy) shrine. This was not at all the experience we were expecting but it ended up being one of the most fun days ever! This video is only just from when we were carrying it the first time. Throughout the day we got pulled into many many shrine carries, pictures with people, we were given free beer, and offered Japanese food. I literally cannot get over how amazing Japanese people are and how kind and generous they were to us throughout the day. We never stopped smiling and I just love the spirit we felt from fellow man and woman. I also felt super lucky to get this experience because it only happens once every four years!! :D We got so lucky!

Tokyo bay at Urayasu city
I wanted to show why I didn't have videos recently but it got even worse than I expected.
It's raining for almost two weeks stopping for half a day sometimes. The main cause if coming Typhoon. In my time in Tokyo it was never hit by typhoon in full force, but I want to check what is going on at the coast. So I'm going to walk along the coast from Shin-Urayasu station to the east.
I also want to test new way of protecting gimbal as new rainjacket with pants I bought specially for videowalks (to walk without umbrella). It should make filming rainy days much easier.
RULES
* Mention my name as @Rambalac if you want ask to make something closer or check other directions.
* Before asking check if you are really watching most recent live by clicking Live button.
* If you suggest direction do not use here as here for you is 5-10 sec past for me. Ask at least 10 sec before turn, or use big enough landmark like traffic lights or shop names.
4K archive of this live event will be uploaded about same day but 1 hour video takes up to a week to be processed by Youtube to full 4K quality. So be patient.
EQUIPMENT
Filmed in 720p with Lumix GH5 camera, 8-18 f2.8-4 lens, Beholder EC1 stabilizer and Cerevo LiveShell 2 encoder.

【4K】Walking in Ome city, Tokyo on a hot day
Not a vlog, no intrusive faces or talking, pure Japan only.
I forgot my mic that time, sorry for wind sounds.
I was going to Okutama firework festival but I had a transfer. So I decide to get off one stop before the transfer and walk to the next station - Ome. I went to Okutama many times but never checked Ome outside of the station.

Japan Day 2: Sensō-ji Temple, Imperial Palace, Ginza, & Tokyo Disneyland
LET’S CATCH A GLIMPSE OF TOKYO! With so much to do, I didn’t even realize how much we packed in one day. We went along with our half-day tour to explore the Sensō-ji Temple, Imperial Palace grounds, and the Ginza shopping district. As if that wasn’t enough, we spent the evening at Tokyo Disneyland. Hard to believe that this is still the first leg of our journey. See you on Day 3!
