Visiting Toyota Kaikan
This is when I visited the Toyota Kaikan in december 2017, including the train ride and bus ride to Toyota's Takaoka plant (only the bus ride since you can't film inside the plant).
There is footage of the showroom with Toyota and Lexus models, which were free to sit in (very nice) and the permanent exposition of Toyota technologies.

The region around Nagoya is a home to Japan's leading car manufacturer, Toyota, where it has its headquarters and many of its domestic production plants.
The company's headquarters are located in the city of Toyota, less than one hour east from central Nagoya. There is the Toyota Kaikan Museum next to the headquarters, where Toyota displays its new models and technologies to the public and performs robot shows periodically.
The Kaikan Museum also serves as the meeting point for plant tours. Tours are conducted once daily from Monday to Friday in English and Japanese. To join a tour, you need to make an advance reservation via the internet or by phone. Tours last about two hours and are free of charge.
Access information
From central Nagoya, take the Tsurumai Subway Line to Toyota-shi Station (50 minutes, about 760 yen; about every 4th train on the Tsurumai Line continues to run on the Meitetsu Toyota Line all the way to Toyota-shi Station). From Toyota-shi Station, take a bus bound for Toyota Kinen Byoin and alight at Toyota Honsha-mae (15 minutes, 300 yen). Alternatively, you can take the Aichi Loop Line to Mikawa-Toyota Station and then it is a 15-minute walk to the Toyota Kaikan.
Hours: 9:30 to 17:00
Closed: Sundays and during the New Year, Golden Week and Obon holidays
Admission: Free
Plant Tours
Hours:11:00 to 13:00
Closed: Weekends and during the New Year, Golden Week and Obon holidays
Admission: Free (advanced reservation required)
