TRIP REPORT | Pascan Aviation - Flying Quebec's Regional Airline!
Today I will be flying onboard Pascan Aviation's BAe JS32 from St-Hubert to Val-d'Or! Big thanks to the captain of the flight for talking a bit about Pascan! I have seen Pascan many times but have never flown them... until now.
They are a great regional airline who i recommend giving them a chance.

A History of Southampton's Children's Hospital 1884 - 1974
Southampton's Children Hospital started in 1884 as a small white house in Church St, Shirley then a village 3 miles away. One of the first operations was for diptheria performed by candle light. In those days the hospital had roughly 25 patients a year. In 1912 the Children's Hospital moved to the site in Winchester Rd. Anglesea House was the home of Mr Crowther Smith a member of the original managing committee of 1884 and the committee bought the house for £1000.
FLYING THE LINDBERGH TRAIL 1937 PAN AM AIRLINES / SOUTH AMERICA TRAVELOGUE FILM 65064
This 1937 black and white travelogue film follows a Pan American flight to the Southern Americas. It is narrated by Edward Tomlinson. In 1929, Colonel Charles Lindbergh pilots his Spirit of Saint Louis plane loaded with air mail to South America. Mail is loaded aboard a Pan American Airways Boeing 314 Clipper; the cargo shown includes live baby chickens. Well-dressed passengers board the floating airplane, which taxis and takes off. The coastline of Miami is below. Passengers play cards at a table, read magazines, are served drinks by a steward, and smoke cigarettes (1:17-4:08). Shown are Havana’s capital building and the Malecon Boulevard with its USS Maine Monument. The control tower radios communicate with the pilots. The radio stations type weather reports (4:09-5:15). The plane lands at Kingston, Jamaica. A traffic policeman is passed by a trolley. Tumbling water falls are picturesque. Imported zebu cattle graze (5:17-6:38). The plane leaves for Port-au-Prince, Haiti. It flies over the French Cathedral and presidential palace. People ride donkeys past hand-turned lathes and a trimmer using bed springs as a base. Men fashion beams with a two-man saw (6:40-8:35). The plane heads for Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Shown are the Columbus Tree, the Columbus Lighthouse Cathedral (who claim he’s buried there) with its bell tower, and the ruins of Diego Columbus Castle (8:37-10:51). The plane leaves for San Juan, Puerto Rico. The cockpit instrument panels are shown. The cliffside Morro Fortress is shown (10:53-12:50). The plane refuels in Saint John’s, Antigua. It flies past the volcano Mount Bailey and to the Port of Spain, Trinidad. Caribbean Clipper planes are serviced (12:52-15:13). They fly over British Guiana to Dutch Guiana. The Suriname government house is shown. A woman carries objects on her head in Paraiba. The Blanche Marie waterfalls are magnificent. Ndyuka villagers make sugar and bread. A baby is bathed in a basket. Hardwoods are dragged down a hill by men or by teams of yoked water buffalo. The villagers use large dugout canoes to travel, including through rapids (15:15-22:40). The plane leaves for Rio de Janeiro. It flies past the Sugarloaf Mountain and the city is shown below. The Avenida Rio Branco is full of busses and cars. People lounge at sidewalk cafes. A street vendor carries brooms. Mosaic sidewalks decorate the boulevards. The President’s home is shown. The Copacabana Beach is crowded. Pilgrims climb to the Church of the Rock. The Christ the Redeemer statue towers over everything (22:42-26:48). Back on the plane, passengers play bridge at a table. Mail is dropped off at Montevideo, Uruguay. They fly on to Buenos Aires. The Avenida Florida is lined with shops. A traditional chimney sweep rides his bicycle. The fountains and carved monuments are shown. Ocean liners load and unload cargo. Horses race at the Palermo Racetrack in front of the grandstand of betters wearing straw hats. Casinos face the beach full of sunbathers. Candle vendors line the street by the Lujan Cathedral. Gauchos round up cattle (26:50-32:57).

Diversion/Emergency Landing! | Flybe/Loganair | Glasgow to Glasgow | DHC6 Twin Otter (with ATC)
A full length full flight video in real time with Loganair/Flybe, from Glasgow to Barra with a diversion and emergency landing back in Glasgow, onboard DeHavilland DHC-6 Twin Otter G-HIAL operating flight BE6851 on August 29 2016.
**Every moment of the flight included from outside the airport at Glasgow, to returning to the airport and exiting Glasgow airport again. ATC included for the entire flight**
This was a rare flight that did not go to plan! The plan was to fly to Barra to land on the beach, spend a few hours there and head back to Glasgow.
Our video begins outside the terminal at Glasgow on a beautiful morning. We head through the airport to the Loganair lounge, where we board our Twin Otter after a short delay.
We enjoy a power back from the gate, before we taxi out to runway 24 for departure to the west. We make a powerful take off from runway 24, climbing out over the beautiful Scottish countryside. However we encounter a problem around 10 minutes into the flight with the generator on the left engine. We make a sweeping left turn to head immediately back to Glasgow, as Glasgow ATC ask us whether we have an emergency or if it will be a normal approach and landing. We get vectors back for immediate landing on runway 24 at Glasgow, where we thankfully land uneventually and taxi to the same stand we departed previously!
After being offered refreshments, we are told that the flight to Barra has been cancelled, and therefore we have to return to the check in desk to get a refund or rebooked. We walk back through the terminal to the check in area where we are able to get a refund for both flights.

A transatlantic flight is the flight of an aircraft across the Atlantic Ocean from Europe, Africa, or the Middle East to North America, Central America, or South America, or vice versa. Such flights have been made by fixed-wing aircraft, airships, balloons, and other aircraft.
Early aircraft engines did not have the reliability needed for the crossing, nor the power to lift the required fuel. There are difficulties navigating over featureless expanses of water for thousands of miles, and the weather, especially in the North Atlantic, is unpredictable. Since the middle of the 20th century, however, transatlantic flight has become routine, for commercial, military, diplomatic, and other purposes. Experimental flights (in balloons, small aircraft, etc.) present challenges for transatlantic fliers.
